Book excerpt: Tony Ward, aka Tone, and lifetime friend, Ronny Washington, aka Roblow, experienced their trials and tribulations with the system. They were split up but promised the streets would be theirs when they reconnect. Now the time had presented itself once again. They started ABM (All ’Bout Money). Tone and Roblow had their secret weapon that no one knew about until the rules of the game have changed. Big Mike and Champ fucked up and grabbed the wrong person. Now it was all or nothing. Big Mike and Champ also got beef with Fresh and Oboy, whose underbosses are born killers. Tone and Roblow’s number 1 rule was if you don’t come right, you will definitely get left. Uniqua and Tee-Tee were put to the test, but which one will rise, and which one will fall? Remember, in the life of crime comes extortion, ransom, death, and kidnapping. They’re all faced with two questions—who will live and who’s going to die? Eye-catching, mouth-dropping, eye-watering, and straight to the point.

Book The Church Will Begin to Move Quickly Do Not Get Left Behind

Download or read book The Church Will Begin to Move Quickly Do Not Get Left Behind written by Beatrice Smith Ministry and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "We are going to the Next Level" Romans 8:18-22 It is the time for the fulfillment of the manifestation of the sons of God to come forth in the power, authority and dominion of God's given glory anointing to His church. This can only be done in the Spirit realm, not in the soulish realm. In the soulish realm, our will, mind, emotions (man's intellect) hindered man from the level of spirituality that God is taking the church to at this time. We must be willing to be lead by the Holy Spirit at this time. On this level of awareness, God will put man in position to bring about a change in the earth (the manifestation of the sons of God). I believe this will be the church's finest hour. The church will arise in the power of a Holy and righteous God; we will demonstrate the power, authority and dominion which the first Adam gave away in the soulish realm. We must have a new consciousness, knowing something better or greater awaits the body of Christ. When we are connected to the Holy Spirit and He is in full control of our lives, this will determine the strength, stability and the power that will be made available to the body of Christ. We have been extended an opportunity to usher the manifestation of the sons of God into this earth realm; the Kingdom of God is such a lovely place, right here on earth. Praise God! Beatrice Smith is currently a member of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Austell, Georgia. She and her daughter (Natalie), and grandchildren live in Powder Springs, Georgia.

Book Pray the Gay Away

Download or read book Pray the Gay Away written by Bernadette Barton and published by NYU Press. This book was released on 2012-10-01 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2013 Finalist for the Lambda Literary Awards, LGBT Studies category Barton argues that conventional Southern manners and religious institutions provide a foundation for homophobia in the Bible Belt In the Bible Belt, it’s common to see bumper stickers that claim One Man + One Woman = Marriage, church billboards that command one to “Get right with Jesus,” letters to the editor comparing gay marriage to marrying one’s dog, and nightly news about homophobic attacks from the Family Foundation. While some areas of the Unites States have made tremendous progress in securing rights for gay people, Bible Belt states lag behind. Not only do most Bible Belt gays lack domestic partner benefits, lesbians and gay men can still be fired from some places of employment in many regions of the Bible Belt for being a homosexual. In Pray the Gay Away, Bernadette Barton argues that conventions of small town life, rules which govern Southern manners, and the power wielded by Christian institutions serve as a foundation for both passive and active homophobia in the Bible Belt. She explores how conservative Christian ideology reproduces homophobic attitudes and shares how Bible Belt gays negotiate these attitudes in their daily lives. Drawing on the remarkable stories of Bible Belt gays, Barton brings to the fore their thoughts, experiences and hard-won insights to explore the front lines of our national culture war over marriage, family, hate crimes, and equal rights. Pray the Gay Away illuminates their lives as both foot soldiers and casualties in the battle for gay rights.

Book Quotes for Signboards Marquees Church Signs Inspiration and Reflection

Download or read book Quotes for Signboards Marquees Church Signs Inspiration and Reflection written by Stan H. McCarley and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-02-02 with total page 517 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Character is doing what is right when no one else is looking. Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others. Never put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket. Quantity is what you count; quality is what you count on. Very few burdens are heavy if everyone lifts. These are just a few of the quotations that I have included in this book. It is a culmination of over four decades of gathering quotes and sayings, noticing church and marquee signs and bumper stickers and, most recently, researching on the Internet. In the preface for this book, I went through and listed quotes that meant a lot to me, but as I look back, I realize that they all mean something to me. I hope that you can use them for motivation, reflection, and inspiration.

Book excerpt: 'It has been slowly dawning on me over many years that there is a fundamental problem deep at the heart of Christian faith and practice as I have known them . . . we have all forgotten what the four Gospels are about.' With that surprising assertion, Tom Wright launches this ground-breaking work in which he helps us to see the gospel story in radically a new light, and to acknowledge that, for many generations, the Church has been avoiding its full impact and holding back from proclaiming its full meaning. 'Classic Wright: clear, accessible, robust, engaging and challenging.' Paula Gooder in Third Way 'Scholarly, accessible, insightful and provocative.' Christianity 'Wright argues compellingly that the twin themes of kingdom and cross are inseparably linked. . . This is a much-needed reorientation. The book makes its case for 'rethinking' cogently and deserves widespread attention.' Theology

Book Grace Over Darkness

    Book Details:
  • Author : Lawanna Price
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2019-03-08
  • ISBN : 1641917512
  • Pages : 97 pages

Download or read book Grace Over Darkness written by Lawanna Price and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-03-08 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grace over Darkness began with a vision that was shown to me years ago. I began to write this book because there is so much evil that appears to overrule God's grace. Evil has become good as well as good becoming evil. Grace over Darkness is meant to help many people, regardless of age. I feel if you can read, then you will understand. Hate has flooded the hearts of many, and it appears that there are few role models for the millennium generation. Families have now become divided with murders, gangs, and so much more. While writing this book, I am able to relate to all the things that I write. I pray and hope that you will allow Jesus to open your spiritual eyes and know that change can happen. You can be delivered and set free of whatever bondage you are in. Grace over Darkness stands for "GOD." It doesn't matter how much darkness you are currently in while you still have breath coming from your nostrils you still have time to make a change and join me to stand up for the Lord and His kingdom and stand for what is right. There is no need to be ashamed or held down to your past. I wrote this book because Grace over Darkness will always outshine the darkness!

Book My Stroke of Insight

Download or read book My Stroke of Insight written by Jill Bolte Taylor and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2008-05-12 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Transformative...[Taylor's] experience...will shatter [your] own perception of the world."—ABC News The astonishing New York Times bestseller that chronicles how a brain scientist's own stroke led to enlightenment On December 10, 1996, Jill Bolte Taylor, a thirty-seven- year-old Harvard-trained brain scientist experienced a massive stroke in the left hemisphere of her brain. As she observed her mind deteriorate to the point that she could not walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life-all within four hours-Taylor alternated between the euphoria of the intuitive and kinesthetic right brain, in which she felt a sense of complete well-being and peace, and the logical, sequential left brain, which recognized she was having a stroke and enabled her to seek help before she was completely lost. It would take her eight years to fully recover. For Taylor, her stroke was a blessing and a revelation. It taught her that by "stepping to the right" of our left brains, we can uncover feelings of well-being that are often sidelined by "brain chatter." Reaching wide audiences through her talk at the Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) conference and her appearance on Oprah's online Soul Series, Taylor provides a valuable recovery guide for those touched by brain injury and an inspiring testimony that inner peace is accessible to anyone.
