Devemos, então, abandonar os métodos tradicionais? Na verdade, não. É impensável achar que não precisamos fazer cronogramas, gerenciar riscos ou até mesmo combinar escopo. O que devemos fazer é utilizar métodos híbridos, ou seja, que combinem artefatos tradicionais de metodologias simples (tais como da metodologia Basic Methodware®) com métodos ágeis (tais como Scrum) e com melhores formas de comunicação e colaboração com os stakeholders (tais como Canvas e Kanban). Neste livro utilizamos um modelo Canvas para a concepção de projetos de mapeamento e redesenho de processos, em conjunto com a nossa metodologia (de apenas 13 processos), que incorpora uma das ferramentas mais conhecidas de melhoria contínua: o ciclo PDCA (PLAN – DO – CHECK – ACT) da qualidade. Tivemos a preocupação de estabelecer, no início do livro, um nivelamento básico do conhecimento dos leitores acerca dos conceitos de gerenciamento de projetos. Para que a metodologia pudesse ser mais bem entendida e aplicada, utilizamos dois casos: a reestruturação do processo de matrícula em uma faculdade; e o mapeamento de processos, com a proposição de melhorias operacionais, em uma empresa de projetos de engenharia.
