Genuinely Converted spells out the concrete, recognizable signs that someone is genuinely converted, which means their old life has passed away and a new person has emerged. Christian conversion is at the heart of the all-important questions that many of us have, such as “Why are we here?” and “What happens to us after we die?” While our Christ-centered relationship with God starts with conversion, we must continue on to discipleship which is growing in Christ and living for Christ. After reading this book, you’ll know how to: · define the meaning of true conversion; · identify the signs of conversion; · recognize false gospels being preached today; · respond to the message of the true Gospel, and stir your life in the right direction; · prepare for the Rapture, and avoid the Great Tribulation; · avoid being a fake or apostate Christian; · be a genuine, victorious pastor or minister of the gospel. Dr. Nworie, pastor, counselor, theologian and educator, explains that experiencing genuine conversion is the only way to really live out God’s purpose for your life. With this book steeped in biblical wisdom, get the answers you need to fulfill your purpose on earth and prepare for the inevitable end God’s Word clearly talks about. The Gospel truth packed inside this book is indispensable for the present and future life of every person or priest. You won’t be the same after reading this book. Book What Is a Healthy Church Member

Download or read book What Is a Healthy Church Member written by Thabiti M. Anyabwile and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2008-06-09 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Biblically and practically instructs church members in ways they can labor for the health of their church. What Is a Healthy Church Member? takes its cue from Mark Dever's book What Is a Healthy Church?, which offered one definition of what a healthy church looks like biblically and historically. In this new work, pastor Thabiti Anyabwile attempts to answer the natural next question: "What does a healthy church member look like in the light of Scripture?" God intends for us to play an active and vital part in the body of Christ, the local church. He wants us to experience the local church as a home more profoundly wonderful and meaningful than any other place on earth. He intends for his churches to be healthy places and for the members of those churches to be healthy as well. This book explains how membership in the local church can produce spiritual growth in its members and how each member can contribute to the growth and health of the whole.

Book The Gospel Call and True Conversion

Download or read book The Gospel Call and True Conversion written by Paul Washer and published by Reformation Heritage Books. This book was released on 2013-06-21 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The apostle Paul gave the gospel the first place in his preaching, endeavored with all his might to proclaim it clearly, and even went so far as to pronounce a curse upon all those who would pervert its truth. Yet how sad it is that many, even among those considering themselves evangelicals, have reduced the gospel message to a few trite statements to be repeated, and view conversion as a mere human decision. In The Gospel Call and True Conversion , Paul Washer challenges such easy believism as he examines the real meaning of things like faith, repentance, and receiving Christ. He also deals extensively with the effects of saving grace that God promises in the new covenant; namely, the creation of new hearts and new people. Table of Contents: PART ONE: The Gospel Call 1. A Call to Repentance 2. A Call to Faith 3. Believe and Confess 4. Receiving Christ 5. Christ at Heart’s Door PART TWO: New Hearts and the Nature of True Conversion 6. The Great Motive and End of Salvation 7. The Author of Salvation 8. Separation and Cleansing 9. A New Heart 10. The Effectual Spirit PART THREE: New People and the Nature of True Conversion 11. The Glory of the New Covenant 12. The Making of New People 13. The Christian’s Sure Knowledge of God 14. The Heart and Way of God’s People 15. The Everlasting Covenant 16. God’s Goodness to His People Series Descriptions Although the Recovering the Gospel Series does not represent an entirely systematic presentation of the gospel, it does address most of the essential elements, especially those that are most neglected in contemporary Christianity. It is the hope of the author that these words might be a guide to help you rediscover the gospel in all its beauty, scandal, and saving power. It is his prayer that such a rediscovery might transform your life, strengthen your proclamation, and bring the greatest glory to God.

Book The Conversion of Igbo Christians to Islam

Download or read book The Conversion of Igbo Christians to Islam written by Chinyere Felicia Priest and published by Langham Publishing. This book was released on 2020-04-30 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Often considered a Christian heartland in Nigeria, Igboland has recently seen a dramatic increase in Igbo Christians converting to Islam. Yet, despite this rapid change, there has been minimal research into the growth of Islam in the area and the implications this has for Christianity in the region. Addressing this need, Dr Chinyere Felicia Priest provides a detailed exploration of Igbo converts’ reasons for conversion through skilful analysis of in-depth ethnographic interviews with thirty converts, considering their social, religious, and familial backgrounds. This unique study sheds much-needed light on the role of intellectual factors in the conversion experiences of many newly Muslim Igbos and challenges previous ideas of monetary and social influences as primary motivations for conversion. As a result of her examination of these conversion experiences, Dr Priest calls for serious intellectual engagement of biblical doctrine within the Igbo church and highlights the need for ministers and missiologists to better disciple and equip Christians to adequately engage with Muslim objections to the gospel and give a reasoned defence of their faith. The vulnerability of many Igbo Christians will continue to result in converts to Islam unless the church heeds the lessons learned from this research and outlined in this book.

Book excerpt: A chilling mystery based on true events, from New York Times bestselling author Katherine Howe. It’s senior year, and St. Joan’s Academy is a pressure cooker. Grades, college applications, boys’ texts: Through it all, Colleen Rowley and her friends keep it together. Until the school’s queen bee suddenly falls into uncontrollable tics in the middle of class. The mystery illness spreads to the school's popular clique, then more students and symptoms follow: seizures, hair loss, violent coughing fits. St. Joan’s buzzes with rumor; rumor erupts into full-blown panic. Everyone scrambles to find something, or someone, to blame. Pollution? Stress? Are the girls faking? Only Colleen—who’s been reading The Crucible for extra credit—comes to realize what nobody else has: Danvers was once Salem Village, where another group of girls suffered from a similarly bizarre epidemic three centuries ago . . . Inspired by true events—from seventeenth-century colonial life to the halls of a modern-day high school—Conversion casts a spell. "[Howe] has a gift for capturing the teenage mindset that nears the level of John Green."—USA Today "...this creepy, gripping novel is intimately real and layered, shedding light on the challenges teenage girls have faced throughout history."—The New York Times "A chilling guessing game . . . that will leave readers thinking about the power (and powerlessness) of young women in the past and present alike."—Publishers Weekly, Starred Review

Book Raising the Alarm Over False Conversion

Download or read book Raising the Alarm Over False Conversion written by Alfred Chong and published by eBookIt.com. This book was released on 2013-05 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Millions of professing Christians are lulled to slumber in their unconverted state indefinitely, all the while comfortable with the false assurance of salvation, misplaced confidence, misconception, their good deeds and religious activities. They have been misled and are unknowingly living under the deception of false conversion. Therefore it is important for professing believers to understand among other things: God's grace and God's sovereignty in salvation; true conversion versus false conversion; the importance of preaching and hearing of the Gospel; the false doctrines; the danger of the false gospels and the altar call evangelism; the great evil scheme; the warnings from Jesus; and the urgent need for personal awakening. How can one know if one has been converted? What are God's ways of dealing with mankind in regard to salvation? What to do if you have not been converted? In short, professing Christians ought to know all the relevant and significant matters pertaining to true and false conversions. If nobody raises the alarm over false conversions and the great evil scheme is not exposed, countless professing Christians around the world would continue to live in false hope. By raising the issue and sharing the knowledge concerning true and false conversions, and by the grace and mercy of God, the author may help to set many false converts free from the devil's deception so that they are able to seek God's mercy and the true salvation.
