Book EPIDEMIOLOGIE GENETIQUE DE DEUX CANCERS DE L ENFANT

Download or read book EPIDEMIOLOGIE GENETIQUE DE DEUX CANCERS DE L ENFANT written by CELINE.. MOUTOU and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CE MEMOIRE PRESENTE L'ETUDE D'EPIDEMIOLOGIE GENETIQUE DE DEUX CANCERS DE L'ENFANT: LE NEPHROBLASTOME ET LES TUMEURS MESENCHYMATEUSES MALIGNES (TMM). DANS LA PREMIERE PARTIE, NOUS TESTONS DIFFERENTES THEORIES POUR LA CARCINOGENESE DU NEPHROBLASTOME: LE MODELE BIMUTATIONNEL DE KNUDSON ET TROIS MODELES PLUS RECENTS FAISANT APPEL A DES PHENOMENES D'EMPREINTE PARENTALE. NOUS DISPOSONS DE DONNEES CLINIQUES ET FAMILIALES POUR 501 ENFANTS TRAITES POUR UN NEPHROBLASTOME DANS DIFFERENTS CENTRES D'ONCOLOGIE PEDIATRIQUE FRANCAIS. L'ETUDE DE L'AGE AU DIAGNOSTIC ET UNE ANALYSE DE SEGREGATION PERMETTENT DE REJETER LA THEORIE CLASSIQUE DE DEUX EVENEMENTS INDEPENDANTS AU NIVEAU D'UN ANTI-ONCOGENE. NOS RESULTATS SONT EN FAVEUR D'UN PHENOMENE D'EMPREINTE PARENTALE. LE MECANISME PRECIS RESTE A ELUCIDER PAR DES ETUDES DE BIOLOGIE MOLECULAIRE. LA SECONDE PARTIE TRAITE DES TMM DONT LA PLUS FREQUENTE EST LE RHABDOMYOSARCOME. ELLES SONT UNE DES MANIFESTATIONS MAJEURES DU SYNDROME DE LI-FRAUMENI (LFS) CARACTERISE PAR UNE CONCENTRATION FAMILIALE DE CANCERS DU SUJET JEUNE. LA SUSCEPTIBILITE AUX CANCERS SEMBLE SE TRANSMETTRE SELON UN MODE AUTOSOMIQUE DOMINANT. DES MUTATIONS GERMINALES DE L'ANTI-ONCOGENE P53 ONT ETE DECRITES DANS CERTAINES FAMILLES DE LFS, SUGGERANT UN ROLE CAUSAL DE P53 DANS LA PREDISPOSITION AUX CANCERS DANS CES FAMILLES. NOUS AVONS RECUEILLI DES DONNEES CLINIQUES ET FAMILIALES POUR 239 ENFANTS TRAITES POUR UNE TMM DANS LE SERVICE DE PEDIATRIE DE L'INSTITUT GUSTAVE ROUSSY, ET DES DONNEES BIOLOGIQUES POUR 44 FAMILLES COMPORTANT PLUSIEURS CAS DE CANCERS. NOUS OBSERVONS UN EXCES DE CANCERS DU SEIN CHEZ LES MERES D'ENFANTS ATTEINTS DE RHABDOMYOSARCOME. L'ANALYSE DE SEGREGATION PERMET DE CONFIRMER LA TRANSMISSION AUTOSOMIQUE DOMINANTE D'UN GENE DE SUSCEPTIBILITE AUX CANCERS AVEC PENETRANCE QUASI COMPLETE A 85 ANS. NOUS MONTRONS QUE LES 4 FAMILLES SEGREGEANT POUR UNE MUTATION GERMINALE DU GENE P53 EXPLIQUENT PRESQUE TOTALEMENT LA COMPOSANTE GENETIQUE, CE QUI PERMET DE CONCLURE QUE LA PROPORTION DE TMM HEREDITAIRES EST TRES FAIBLE

Book Childhood Cancer and Functional Impacts Across the Care Continuum

Download or read book Childhood Cancer and Functional Impacts Across the Care Continuum written by National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine and published by . This book was released on 2021-09-09 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the late 1960s, the survival rate in children and adolescents diagnosed with cancer has steadily improved, with a corresponding decline in the cancer-specific death rate. Although the improvements in survival are encouraging, they have come at the cost of acute, chronic, and late adverse effects precipitated by the toxicities associated with the individual or combined use of different types of treatment (e.g., surgery, radiation, chemotherapy). In some cases, the impairments resulting from cancer and its treatment are severe enough to qualify a child for U.S. Social Security Administration disability benefits. At the request of Social Security Administration, Childhood Cancer and Functional Impacts Across the Care Continuum provides current information and findings and conclusions regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of selected childhood cancers, including different types of malignant solid tumors, and the effect of those cancers on childrenâ (TM)s health and functional capacity, including the relative levels of functional limitation typically associated with the cancers and their treatment. This report also provides a summary of selected treatments currently being studied in clinical trials and identifies any limitations on the availability of these treatments, such as whether treatments are available only in certain geographic areas.
