The disparity between the God of Moses and the God of Jesus, Marcion maintained, was obvious with rational comparison of Old and New Testaments.The God of the Old Testament demanded "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth," while Jesus said: "Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." Although Marcion was drummed out of Rome in disgrace, his movement never died and it crystallized into the religion of Freemasonry. In the 19th Century, Marcionism was embraced by the German rationalists and made its way into contemporary Christianity. Such rationalists argued that the Torah had been composed not by Moses but a host of sources and could not be accepted as authentic. The New Testament, they argued, was equally unreliable. It was composed not by eyewitnesses but editors and that the gospel accounts had been subjected to the process of myth-making. The theology of the rationalists was taught in every leading Catholic and Protestant seminary in the United States. Since the scriptures were "contradictory" and a product of primitive times, students of religion were taught that Christian doctrine should be centered, on the "social gospel"—a gospel stripped of all supernatural elements and all passages deemed offensive to modern sensibilities. The result has been the creation of a religion that is devoid of the ambiguity and precariousness of life, of the awe before the divine majesty, and the judgment before the ineffable holiness.

Judah had forsaken the LORD, the covenant, the Law and God sent Jeremiah to tell the people that if they did not return to the LORD, the covenant and the Law that God would have to forsake them and to punish them by Nebuchadnezzar, the Chaldean king. They would have to return to the LORD, and to stop shedding innocent blood, stop with their adultery, stop with their idolatry; “For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings” (Jer. 4:3-4). Judah did not hearken to the LORD, they did not return to the LORD, they did not stop shedding innocent blood, they did not stop with their idolatry, they did not stop with their adultery, so the LORD punishes them as promised by carrying them away to Babylon for seventy years. When reading the book of Jeremiah, it is very clear that his message is very timeless, one could believe that Jeremiah could stand here in contemporary Christianity in the end of 2022 and preach the same message, it would fit right in. We have forsaken the LORD and we have forsaken his Word. This is our greatest sin, and if we do not repent and return to the LORD and his Word the same fate will befall us. At least in Sweden has contemporary Christianity shown its contempt for God’s Word, and a great apostasy is lingering showing its face everywhere. God’s Word is denied, the order of creation is denied, no clear teaching is at all on the horizon. And they laugh to scorn any message of doom and judgment. I have therefore written this book, hoping to wake up an disobedient Christianity.

This of course gives rise to speculation about the root basis for their beliefs and actions. This group of people claim allegiance to the whole Bible and claim that it is Gods Word. Many people, in light of modern knowledge, are laughing at these old time beliefs. Our society is in need of a credible way of life. The Bible has the right answer, but it is mixed in with much misleading information that the Churches have used to control society. The Churches have organized in such a way as to eliminate criticism. They have assumed the office of Gods representative and members can be punished for disobeying their edicts using discrimination and loss of fellowship. The Christian Right groups have refused to study and update their antiquated standards. This book is written to encourage the first step of this change.

There through all historic centuries he had lived apart, absolutely uninfluenced by any reflex of the civilisation of the Ancient World; and yet, as it appears, pursuing a course in many respects strikingly analogous to that by means of which the civilisation of Europe originated. The recognition of this is not only of value as an aid to the realisation of the necessary conditions through which man passed in reaching the stage at which he is found at the dawn of history; but it seems to point to the significant conclusion that civilisation is the development of capacities inherent in man. The term used in the title was first employed, in 1851, in my Prehistoric Annals of Scotland, where evidence was adduced in proof of man’s presence in Britain “long anterior to the earliest indications of the Aryan nations passing into Europe.” It was purposely coined to express the whole period disclosed to us by means of archæological evidence, as distinguished from what is known through written records; and in this sense the term was speedily adopted by the Archæologists of Europe. But the subject thus defined is a comprehensive one; and in its rapid growth, distinctive subdivisions have been introduced which tend to narrow the application of the term. Nevertheless it is still a legitimate definition of man, wherever his history is recoverable solely by means of primitive arts. The first edition of Prehistoric Man, published in 1862, was followed in 1865 by another, carefully revised in accordance with later disclosures. Since then I have availed myself of further opportunities for study and research in reference both to existing races, and to the arts and monumental remains of extinct nations of the New World. Within the same period important additions have been contributed to our knowledge not only of the arts, but of the physical characteristics of primeval man in Europe. In the present edition, accordingly, much of the original work has been rewritten. Several chapters have been replaced by new matter. Others have been condensed, or recast, with considerable modifications and a new arrangement of the whole.

This northern route leaves behind Dallas' cotton bowl and seven other professional teams, including Arlington, Houston and San Antonio before bumping into Oklahoma's trail of tears. Over half a century has gone by since then, but many old haunts in all directions are still thriving. Other stories have their roots in Texas but industry, or a split family, took them elsewhere. Illustrations are my paintings, and photos depict memories of favorite places.
