Download or read book Heir Force written by Faith Lane Callis and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2017-02-20 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heir Force is a Bible curriculum that teaches that God the Father sent his only Son, Jesus, to earth to pay a debt we couldnt pay through his life, death, and resurrection. God the Father appointed Jesus to be heir of all things and seated him at his right hand. All who believe what Jesus did for us by dying in our place and confess their sins to him and ask for his forgiveness are made joint-heirs with Jesus. God has given us the power to become the sons of God! Along lifes journey, we will, as believers, be faced with many joys and trials. Heir Force is analogous with living life before the Lord like we are in basic training or in boot camp. God is our commanding officer. Jesus is the perfect soldier. The Holy Spirit lives in us. The Bible is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We are to love the Lord with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds. Ephesians 6:1013 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. The lessons of this curriculum will direct our hearts and minds to the precepts and principles that God teaches through the Bible.

Book To Be or Not to Be

Download or read book To Be or Not to Be written by Douglas Bruster and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2007-02-15 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hamlet's "To be or not to be" soliloquy is quoted more often than any other passage in Shakespeare. It is arguably the most famous speech in the Western world - though few of us can remember much about it. This book carefully unpacks the individual words, phrases and sentences of Hamlet's soliloquy in order to reveal how and why it has achieved its remarkable hold on our culture. Hamlet's speech asks us to ask some of the most serious questions there are regarding knowledge and existence. In it, Shakespeare also expands the limits of the English language. Douglas Bruster therefore reads Hamlet's famous speech in "slow motion" to highlight its material, philosophical and cultural meaning and its resonance for generations of actors, playgoers and readers.

Book excerpt: The first book in an epic new series about a princess hiding a dark secret and the con man she must trust to clear her name for her father's murder. In the Cyrilian Empire, Affinites are reviled. Their varied gifts to control the world around them are deemed unnatural—even dangerous. And Anastacya Mikhailov, the crown princess, is one of the most terrifying Affinites. Ana’s ability to control blood has long been kept secret, but when her father, the emperor, is murdered, she is the only suspect. Now, to save her own life, Ana must find her father’s killer. But the Cyrilia beyond the palace walls is one where corruption rules and a greater conspiracy is at work—one that threatens the very balance of Ana’s world. There is only one person corrupt enough to help Ana get to the conspiracy’s core: Ramson Quicktongue. Ramson is a cunning crime lord with sinister plans—though he might have met his match in Ana. Because in this story, the princess might be the most dangerous player of all. Praise for Blood Heir “Cinematic storytelling at its best.”—Adrienne Young, New York Times bestselling author of Sky in the Deep and The Girl the Sea Gave Back “Zhao shines in the fast-paced and vivid combat scenes, which lend a cinematic quality that pulls readers in.”—NYT Book Review “Zhao is a master writer who weaves a powerful tale of loyalty, honor, and courage through a strong female protagonist. . . . Book Getting an Heir

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ann Waltner
  • Publisher : University of Hawaii Press
  • Release : 2019-03-31
  • ISBN : 0824879953
  • Pages : 249 pages

Download or read book Getting an Heir written by Ann Waltner and published by University of Hawaii Press. This book was released on 2019-03-31 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The need for heirs in any traditional society is a compelling one. In traditional China, where inheritance and notions of filiality depended on the production of progeny, the need was nearly absolute. As Ann Waltner makes clear in this broadly researched study of adoption in the late Ming and early Ch'ing periods, the getting of an heir was a complex, even paradoxical undertaking. Although adoption involving persons of the same surname was the only arrangement ritually and legally sanctioned in Chinese society, adoption of persons of a different surname was a relatively common practice. Using medical and ritual texts, legal codes, local gazetteers, biography, and fiction, Waltner examines the multiple dimensions of the practice of adoption and identifies not only the dominant ideology prohibiting adoption across surname lines, but also a parallel discourse justifying the practice.

Book Heir s Journey of Promise

Download or read book Heir s Journey of Promise written by David O. Daulton and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-07-24 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Very often, the Father gives to His children special presents! They are given, along with thousands of other blessings, on a daily basis, and if we are truly honest with ourselves and look at these presents, we will be all the more grateful! This is an account based on the facts presented in the Bible, and largely on the prophetic Scriptures. I realize that many in the church-those who claim to be Christians-will not allow themselves to believe on these Scriptures. This is heartbreaking, for I believe this will be to their great harm! This book will try to convince the reading Christian of how truly dear he or she is to the Father, and how He longs for us to be close to Him in His Son. (And no, it isn't inspired, but God did through His Word turn the lights on!) This is more than a bedtime story for children of all ages. My hope is that it will be a great encouragement-for though we may grow a bit weary in our journey, we still enjoy the good fight. We are very dear to the One who has already won it, and He looks forward to greeting us on the other side . . . And men everywhere should seek Him with a new zeal, for He will soon rise to shake violently the earth! Even so, come Lord Jesus!
