Book Fixture Tension Compression Fatigue Testing Design of

Download or read book Fixture Tension Compression Fatigue Testing Design of written by GENERAL DYNAMICS/CONVAIR SAN DIEGO CALIF. and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The upper head of the multiplying fixture of the SF-1U fatigue testing machine, and the grips for holding the specimen were redesigned and rebuilt. Specimens can now be loaded for testing without the turning movements which introduced torque and/or bending moments into the specimen. Redesign of the specimen gripping arrangement has greatly reduced the time and labor necessary to load specimens for testing. Limited testing with steel specimens in the range of medium to high c clic tension-compression loads has shown improved fatigue life with results that compare favorably with results obtained by other means of testing. Additional work to assure true alignment of the multiplying fixture and the gripping arrangement, and further testing with low cyclic loads such as those employed in testing Al and Mg is recommended. Book A Tension Compression Test Fixture to Determine Bauschinger Effect

Download or read book A Tension Compression Test Fixture to Determine Bauschinger Effect written by KG. Hoge and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A tension-compression alignment fixture has been designed for an MTS universal test machine. Bending stresses in the specimen are eliminated by rotation and displacement adjustments to the fixture. Lost motion is reduced by preloading in compression all mating parts of the fixture. Results of the Bauschinger effect on several metals are described.

Book A New Fixture for Fatigue Testing

Download or read book A New Fixture for Fatigue Testing written by BK. Min and published by . This book was released on 1979 with total page 5 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new type of fixture has been designed for low cycle fatigue testing. The fixture provides good alignment and reduces the setup time to a minimum. It is especially useful for testing at elevated temperatures. If specimens with uniform cross section in the gage length are used, then the need for a diametral strain gage is eliminated. The fixture is presently being used to measure low cycle fatigue crack growth in 316 stainless steel at elevated temperatures.

Book Bibliography on the Fatigue of Materials Components and Structures

Download or read book Bibliography on the Fatigue of Materials Components and Structures written by J. Y. Mann and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bibliography on the Fatigue of Materials, Components and Structures, Volume 3 addresses the problems associated with fatigue loadings as evident in branches of engineering and technology. Such debilitating factor also affects the human skeletal system. The book provides several references that show an increasing focus being given to the problem of fatigue in materials, components, and structures. The journals and lists of references used in the book, which discuss the subject of fatigue, are chosen to give an initial identification of citations. These sources are accompanied by computer-based documentation systems. The bibliographical data for each citation are thoroughly reviewed by checking the original bases of publication. The references in the book are arranged chronologically according to its year of publication. Major use has been made of abbreviations for the titles of journals and publications. The book can serve as a valuable tool for doctors, therapists, students, and researchers in the field of medicine.
