Book The World Guide to CSR

Download or read book The World Guide to CSR written by Wayne Visser and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-08 with total page 488 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The World Guide to CSR is the first book to provide comparable national profiles that describe the evolution and practice of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility (CSR) for 58 countries and 5 global regions. Each regional and national profile includes key information about the relevant CSR history, country-specific issues, trends, research and leading organizations. The purpose of the book is to give CSR professionals (including managers, consultants, academics and NGOs focusing on the social, environmental and ethical responsibilities of business) a quick reference guide to CSR in different regional and national contexts. The need for the book is premised on the fact that CSR professionals and researchers more often than not have a multinational remit and are required to benchmark performance internationally, but find that country-specific CSR information is ad hoc, limited or non-existent. Even where national CSR research exists, it is often hidden in academic journals that practitioners cannot access or do not have the time or inclination to read. The book is an edited volume, with expert contributors from around the world, all of whom have been screened and selected on the basis of their qualifications and experience in CSR. Each regional/country profile includes the following subsections:CSR in context Priority issues Trends Legislation and codes Organizations Case studies Educational institutions References This unique resource will be an essential acquisition for all organisations who need to benchmark their CSR strategies throughout different regions and cultures and want the best possible intelligence on the key issues and concerns relating to corporate social responsibility in all of the markets in which they operate.

Book Students with Disabilities and the Transition to Work

Download or read book Students with Disabilities and the Transition to Work written by Oliver Mutanga and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-07-01 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book sets out to understand how students with disabilities experience higher education and the transition to the workplace. It foregrounds the voices of students and graduates in order to explore identity, inclusion, participation and success of youth with disabilities in higher education, as well as their transition from university to employment. The author proposes a new understanding of disability, considered in terms of a continuum of abilities, balancing empirical data, theory and policy analysis with specific regard to the interests of youth with disabilities, making a unique contribution to discussions on access, inclusion and success in higher education and employment. These discussions inform social development and educational policy planning and implementation, not only in South Africa, but also in countries with a similar context, particularly in terms of remedial courses of action that bring social justice to people with disabilities. Students with Disabilities and the Transition to Work will be of interest to all scholars and students working in the fields of disability studies, particularly those with a focus on critical disability studies and disability in the global south, as well as those working in higher education, sociology, development studies and social policy.

This book was released on 2024-02-12 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Working for Health five-year action plan for health employment and inclusive economic growth (2017–2021) draws on the recommendations of the report of the United Nations High-level Commission on Health Employment and Economic Growth. It is delivered principally through the joint intersectoral W4H programme and its Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) in partnership with WHO, ILO and OECD. A major part of its objectives is to stimulate workforce actions in alignment with national, regional and global strategies and plans. These actions are delivered at country and regional level through multisectoral Member State-led collaboration and catalytic technical and financial support. Other joint W4H work includes developing and adapting key global public goods, including an international platform for health worker mobility, an interagency data exchange platform, an ILO and OECD approach to anticipating the skills needs of health workers, and a methodology for measuring employment impact. This document presents the findings of an independent end-of-project review of the Working for Health five-year action plan for health employment and inclusive economic growth (2017–2021) Working for Health Multi Partner Trust Fund over the first action plan period. This included direct support to 13 countries, two economic regions and three global projects. The review is based on the evaluation criteria of relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability. The review also looks to the future of sustaining investment and support for implementation of subsequent projects under the new Working for Health 2022–2030 Action Plan and its MPTF, which was extended by Member States at the Seventy-fifth World Health Assembly in May 2022.
