Download or read book Evolution Reloaded written by Taachal and published by Author Taachal. This book was released on 2021-03-11 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every conscious person on the earth is curious to know how the species of human beings along with other living systems as well as the whole universe came into existence. The theory of Darwin which ignited the imaginations of many generations of thinking people all over the world even to this day is no more than a hypothesis, except for the concept of speciation which can be a working principle to understand about minor changes that a species undergoes over a period of time. In this new theory of evolution, in what can be called as a syncretism of the ideas of the East and the West, the author takes a convincing turn from the realm of external attributes or the form of an organism to the realm of internal attributes or the life of an organism to unfurl a new hypothesis which can give more logical answers to the mysteries of evolution.
Download or read book Form and Soul written by Taachal and published by Author Taachal. This book was released on 2021-07-11 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FORM AND SOUL is a philosophical work that announces a great break with the past, the reality of which is being felt by all of us who are the esteemed netizens of the emerging digital age civilization. Leaving behind the machine age conceptions of ideas, societies and civilizations this work tries to realize the ethos of a new civilization where artificial intelligence, information technology and quantum mechanics have turned the ideas of human relations and collective existence upside down. This new world of cyber campaigns and collective intelligence is on the verge of leaving behind the odds of cultural nationalism and liberal democracy to reach a new ideological platform where mankind can base its material and moral existence. This work can be considered as a great forward movement following Francis Fukuyama's ‘The End of History and the Last Man’ and Samuel Huntington's ‘The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order’ to interpret the world where relations between various levels of human organizations are determined by a matrix of dynamic social flows. Defining this newly emerging global social matrix is the main theme of this work.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Apocalyptic Transformation explores how one the oldest sense-making paradigms, the apocalyptic myth, is altered when postmodern authors and filmmakers adopt it. It examines how postmodern writers adapt a fundamentally religious story for a secular audience and it proposes that even as these writers use the myth in traditional ways, they simultaneously undermine and criticize the grand narrative of apocalypse itself.

Download or read book Molecular basis of fruit development written by Zhongchi Liu and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2014-03-26 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fruit is an important plant structure. Not only does it provide a suitable environment for seeds to develop and serve as a vehicle for seed disposal, but it is also an indispensable part of the human diet. Despite its agronomic and nutritional value and centuries of intensive genetic selection, little is known about the molecular mechanism of its development or the evolution of its diverse forms. The last few years have witnessed a surge of investigations on the early stages of fruit development propelled by the advancement of high throughput sequencing technology, genome sequencing of fruit bearing species, and detailed molecular insights based on studies of model organisms. This research topic is focused on early stage fruit development that ranges from pre-fertilization patterning of the female ovary through post-fertilization fruit initiation and growth. Provided by the renowned experts in the field, these papers are intended to highlight recent progress and shed light on different aspects of fruit development from structure, function, to molecular genetics, and evolution.
Download or read book Reload written by Mary Flanagan and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2002-05-03 with total page 604 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An anthology of feminist cyberfiction and theoretical and critical writings on gender and technoculture. Most writing on cyberculture is dominated by two almost mutually exclusive visions: the heroic image of the male outlaw hacker and the utopian myth of a gender-free cyberworld. Reload offers an alternative picture of cyberspace as a complex and contradictory place where there is oppression as well as liberation. It shows how cyberpunk's revolutionary claims conceal its ultimate conservatism on matters of class, gender, and race. The cyberfeminists writing here view cyberculture as a social experiment with an as-yet-unfulfilled potential to create new identities, relationships, and cultures. The book brings together women's cyberfiction—fiction that explores the relationship between people and virtual technologies—and feminist theoretical and critical investigations of gender and technoculture. From a variety of viewpoints, the writers consider the effects of rapid and profound technological change on culture, in particular both the revolutionary and reactionary effects of cyberculture on women's lives. They also explore the feminist implications of the cyborg, a human-machine hybrid. The writers challenge the conceptual and institutional rifts between high and low culture, which are embedded in the texts and artifacts of cyberculture.

Download or read book Art and Adaptability written by Gregory F. Tague and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2017-11-13 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Art and Adaptability argues for a co-evolution of theory of mind and material/art culture. The book covers relevant areas from great ape intelligence, hominin evolution, Stone Age tools, Paleolithic culture and art forms, to neurobiology. We use material and art objects, whether painting or sculpture, to modify our own and other people’s thoughts so as to affect behavior. We don’t just make judgments about mental states; we create objects about which we make judgments in which mental states are inherent. Moreover, we make judgments about these objects to facilitate how we explore the minds and feelings of others. The argument is that it’s not so much art because of theory of mind but art as theory of mind.
Download or read book The Architecture of Evolution written by Marco Tamborini and published by University of Pittsburgh Press. This book was released on 2022-12-20 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the final decades of the twentieth century, the advent of evolutionary developmental biology (evo-devo) offered a revolutionary new perspective that transformed the classical neo-Darwinian, gene-centered study of evolution. In The Architecture of Evolution, Marco Tamborini demonstrates how this radical innovation was made possible by the largely forgotten study of morphology. Despite the key role morphology played in the development of evolutionary biology since the 1940s, the architecture of organisms was excluded from the Modern Evolutionary Synthesis. And yet, from the beginning of the twentieth century to the 1970s and ’80s, morphologists sought to understand how organisms were built and how organismal forms could be generated and controlled. The generation of organic form was, they believed, essential to understanding the mechanisms of evolution. Tamborini explores how the development of evo-devo and the recent organismal turn in biology involved not only the work of morphologists but those outside the biological community with whom they exchanged their data, knowledge, and practices. Together with architects and engineers, they worked to establish a mathematical and theoretical basis for the study of organic form as a mode of construction, developing and reinterpreting important notions that would play a central role in the development of evolutionary developmental biology in the late 1980s. This book sheds light not only on the interdisciplinary basis for many of the key concepts in current developmental biology but also on contributions to the study of organic form outside the English-speaking world.
Download or read book India Decoded written by Taachal and published by Author Taachal. This book was released on 2021-06-02 with total page 490 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: INDIA DECODED is a comprehensive commentary on the history of India from the point of view of an emerging new model of historical exploration which is based on the theory of civilization cycles. This work deals with the story of man in the subcontinent from the very beginning of his existence to our own time. The original sub-continental civilization, which today stands fragmented as the territorial states of Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, is considered as a single unit with recurring ups and downs in order to understand its history in the right spirit. This work which critically analyzes various events, ideas and institutions of the great landmass in the past reassures that a new historical vision can enable the fractured polities of the subcontinent to stand together once again as a great civilization in the future.
Download or read book Evolution and Social Psychology written by Mark Schaller and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2013-05-13 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why do we think about and interact with other people in the particular ways that we do? Might these thoughts and actions be contemporary products of our long-ago evolutionary past? If so, how might this be, and what are the implications? Research generated by an evolutionary approach to social psychology issues profound insights into self-concept, impression formation, prejudice, group dynamics, helping, aggression, social influence, culture, and every other topic that is fundamental to social psychology. Evolution and Social Psychology is the first book to review and discuss this broad range of social psychological phenomena from an evolutionary perspective. It does so with a critical and constructive eye. Readers will emerge with a clear sense of the intellectual challenges, as well as the scientific benefits, of an evolutionarily-informed social psychology. The world-renowned contributors identify new questions, new theories, and new hypotheses—many of which are only now beginning to be tested. Thus, this book not only summarizes the current status of the field, it also sets an agenda for the next generation of research on evolution and social psychology. Evolution and Social Psychology is essential reading for evolutionary psychologists and social psychologists alike.
