Download or read book The Evolution of Genesis written by Charles C. Munroe, III and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'The Evolution of Genesis' takes the Genesis story of creation out of the realm of myth and anchors it solidly in reality supported by science. If viewed through the lens of evolution it becomes the greatest revelation of the Bible. Adam's rib is still missing; if you know where to look. Eve as first not Adam. Eden is not located in the Middle East but in the palm of your hand. There was a great flood but it didn't cover the entire Earth and yes there was a Noah's Ark but it wasn't made of wood. Your Bible is safe; it just needs a common sense interpretation.

Book Genesis Creation and Creationism

Download or read book Genesis Creation and Creationism written by Lloyd R. Bailey and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2006-05-28 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Genesis, Creation, and Creationism' is an important new study that explores all sides of the creationism debate and gives a sound and spiritually rich way of understanding the creation stories of Genesis. -------------------- Creationism is an ardently proclaimed and widely held point of view, involving both scientific and biblical data. While much has been written about Òscientific creationism, much less is available about its counterpart, Òbiblical creationism. 'Genesis, Creation, and Creationism' provides this much-needed evaluation of creationism by uniquely allowing the Bible to speak for itself. Author Lloyd R. Bailey, who is a biblical scholar and also holds a degree in physics, begins his investigation by inviting all sides of the creationism debate to set aside their prejudices for or against the theory of evolution and read the biblical story of creation in Genesis (1:1-2, 4a). He then examines the creationist phenomenon and compares this data with the agenda of the Òyoung earth creationist. All the while, Bailey enhances the Bible's ability to speak for itself by withholding judgment on many of the assumptions of historical-critical biblical scholarship (for example, the date and authorship of Genesis). The result is a scientifically straightforward study of Genesis that explicitly answers fundamentalist questions on creationism. 'Genesis, Creation, and Creationism' is a thought-provoking study on the relationship of science and religion that speaks to all Christian denominations. It provides excellent resource material for high school science classes, religion classes, and for seminarians engaged in biblical studies.

Book The Lie

  • Pages : 238 pages

Download or read book The Lie written by Ken Ham and published by New Leaf Publishing Group. This book was released on 2012 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is the revised, expanded, and updated edition for the 25th anniversary year. Its message of biblical authority is even more relevant today. This anniversary edition is an even more powerful, eye-opening book for the church! Ken Ham once again takes the lead in pointing out the looming precipice that thousands of church leaders are rushing toward; a denial of the full authority and accuracy of the Bible from its very first verse. Originally published in 1987, The Lie took a bold stand which became prophetic. Ken warned the church about the destructive effects of compromise with evolutionary/millions-of-years ideas. He warned that compromise in Genesis would undermine Scriptural authority in the culture and erode confidence in the infallibility of God's Word. Today, Christians increasingly doubt the Bible's reliability. So then do those who are considering placing their faith in Jesus, the Creator. The issues are of critical importance when you realize that today we have Christians not only confused when it comes to Genesis and the age of the earth, but now even the reality of hell, Adam as a real person, and Christ's own words about creation, marriage, and more. One compromise just leads to another, and it has to end if we want to leave a legacy of faith to future generations! --

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mission statement - coresci.org Series Editor: Todd Charles Wood Core Academy of Science encourages young Christian scholars to explore the hardest problems in creation. Engineers sometimes classify problems as easy, hard, and impossible. Easy problems are trivial because they can be solved merely by applying known principles. Impossible problems cannot be solved no matter how hard we try. Hard problems are the problems in between that require the most work but yield the greatest rewards. Sometimes hard problems are accumulations of many easy problems, and sometimes they turn out to be impossible. When a hard problem is solved, though, it is widely celebrated. For Christians and especially young-age creationists, understanding creation has many "hard problems." Evidences of the great age of the universe and earth can be difficult to explain. Likewise with evidences of evolution. Creationists reject the conventional explanations that involve millions of years and humans evolving from animals, but alternative explanations that satisfy our scientific curiosity and our desire to remain true to the revealed Word of God are much rarer and not widely accepted. It is much easier to focus on the detection of error rather than the more difficult discovery of truth. This focus on error rather than truth pervades evangelical Christianity, because it's relatively easy. We all like the easy and impossible. We teach our children to recite verses from the Bible and answers to our catechisms, but when they ask difficult questions, we say, "Only God knows." We might even scold them for being impertinent or irreverent. Core Academy equips the next generation to tackle these great mysteries by first and most importantly helping young scholars to develop a bold, confident faith. All too often, scholars who face challenging puzzles become disillusioned and stray from the faith. Our first goal, then, must be enriching and nurturing strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Creator.

Download or read book Creation and Evolution written by Alan Hayward and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2005-01-26 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Even non-Christian scientists are attacking the traditional evolutionary theory still taught in many schools as fact. In 'Creation and Evolution' British physicist Dr. Alan Hayward draws evidence solely from these non-Christian researchers to discredit gradual evolution and Darwin's mechanism of natural selection. Hayward also examines in detail young earth theories, flood geology, and geological testimony to an ancient earth. In the end he suggests a surprising interpretation of Genesis that argues for both a historical Adam and creation over eons of time. Bowing neither to theistic evolution nor scientific creationism, Hayward writes from the perspective of a Christian physicist committed both to a high view of Scripture and to rigorous honesty with scientific data.

Book excerpt: "A marvelous and insightful review of the creationism/evolution controversy by an individual who has contributed immeasurably to the public understanding of science."—Lee Hood, author of The Code of Codes: Scientific and Social Issues in the Human Genome Project "I know of no book that explains the evolution/creation controversy in such a comprehensive manner, and yet in a style that will be understood by high school students. It demarcates those areas of thought that belong to faith-supported religion on the one hand, and reason-supported science on the other without denigrating either."—Richard E. Dickerson, UCLA "There are few scientists as knowledgeable and clear about how science works, and as thoughtful about the creation and evolution controversy as John A. Moore. A product of Moore's wisdom and his over 60 years experience as a brilliant and productive scholar, From Genesis to Genetics will bring understanding to both citizens and scientists who are grappling with the contentious issues of science and religion, evolution and creationism."—Eugenie C. Download or read book American Genesis written by Jeffrey P. Moran and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2012-03-07 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The question of teaching evolution in the public schools is a continuing and frequently heated political issue in America. From Tennessee's Scopes Trial in 1925 to recent battles that have erupted in Louisiana, Kansas, Ohio, and countless other localities, the critics and supporters of evolution have fought nonstop over the role of science and religion in American public life. In American Genesis, Jeffrey P. Moran explores the ways in which the evolution debate has reverberated beyond the confines of state legislatures and courthouses. Using extensive research in newspapers, periodicals, and archives, Moran shows that social forces such as gender, regionalism, and race have intersected with the debate over evolution in ways that shed light on modern American culture. He investigates, for instance, how antievolutionism deepened the cultural divisions between North and South--northerners embraced evolution as a sign of sectional enlightenment, while southerners defined themselves as the standard bearers of true Christianity. Evolution debates also exposed a deep gulf between conservative Black Christians and secular intellectuals such as W. E. B. DuBois. Moran also explores the ways in which the struggle has played out in the universities, on the internet, and even within the evangelical community. Throughout, he shows that evolution has served as a weapon, as an enforcer of identity, and as a polarizing force both within and without the churches. America has both the most advanced scientific infrastructure as well as the highest rate of church adherence among developed nations, and the issues raised in the evolution controversies touch the heart of our national identity. American Genesis makes an important contribution to our understanding of the impact of this contentious issue, revealing how its tendrils have stretched out to touch virtually every corner of our lives.

Download or read book Truth in Genesis written by Jeremy W. Wheless and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-04-13 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea of 'evolution and millions of years' is a lie straight out of the pits of hell. It is this lie that leads many people astray and blinds them to where they will not accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. This book gives support for the Biblical Worldview of Creation and also exposes many of the lies that prop up the idea of 'evolution and millions of years.' Some of the topics covered are: The Age of the Earth - Is the earth billions of years old, or is it only about 6,000 years old like the Bible suggests? This book shows biblically and scientifically that the earth cannot be millions or billions of years old. The Pre-Flood World - The Bible says that, before the flood, people lived to be over 900 years old. How was this possible? The world before the flood of Noah's day was very different than what we see today. This book explores what the pre-flood world may have been like. Dinosaurs and the Bible - One of the lies of evolution is that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. If the earth is only about 6,000 years old, this cannot be true. This book shows evidence that dinosaurs lived with man in the relative recent past: not millions of years ago! Ancient Knowledge - Was ancient man a stupid caveman dragging his knuckles in the dirt? Or, was ancient man very smart? This book shows evidence that suggests ancient man was indeed very intelligent. Perhaps, more intelligent than we are today. Satan's Lies Exposed - We will expose many of the lies that are used to prop up the idea of 'evolution and millions of years.' And more! It is the author's hope that this book will strengthen the faith of believers, and also help win the lost to Jesus Christ by showing them the truth on this important topic.
