Download or read book Evil Eats Good written by James Trivers and published by Club Lighthouse Publishing. This book was released on 2022-03-27 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It may look like a paradise but actually it is a jungle where evil constantly eats good. It is all part of the food chain that dictates the feral law of the land. Platitudes is a posh rehab facility on the Caribbean island of Saint Augustine. Founded by one of rock’s greatest guitarist who not only wanted to give back, but, also, wanted to garner a generous tax write off. The center is overseen by an over-thinking and haunted ex-addict. Elliot is nearing his retirement and is clearly overwhelmed when his newest client, an opioid addict, is an ex-president’s 19-year-old son. This situation catapults Elliot into chipping codeine which ushers him into a duplicitous demise. He seeks a salvation that the Twelve Steps cannot provide. The intrigue revolving within the treatment center is the centrifuge of society. A dipsomaniac Russian scientist pontificates his nihilistic outlook to a coked-out communist who is the daughter of a capo of a Columbian cartel. She, in turn, is the domineering paramour to the ex-president’s son. The noose around Elliot’s neck only grows more taut by the Saint Augustine government dictating a field on the facility’s property be used as a depot to refuel prop planes transporting contraband. All this explodes in Elliot’s face when the ex-president comes to visit.
Download or read book Eat No Evil written by Roy Masters and published by FHU Bookstore. This book was released on 1987 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Roy Masters, in his delightfully shocking book "Eat No Evil," quickly dispels all of the myths surrounding our fascination with food. Rather than offer the public another health food diet, he bypasses the mumbo jumbo of the experts and strikes straight to the heart of the matter, unearthing for the first time the hidden cause of our cravings. If you had been born, say, two thousand years ago, you wouldn't need this book. You would be sustaining yourself naturally by eating all the right foods. But, alas, you were born in the twentieth century, as if in a cage, a bleak environment of steel and concrete and supermarket-processed food. Need I say more about the devitalized, bran-stripped junk you are eating? So now it behooves you to thread your way back through the maze of food traumas and conditioning to discover what God intended you to do with the natural bounty he provided. Food is to the intestines what truth is to the spirit. In both cases, we must keep a clean house. The problem is that a wrong person cannot possibly eat right food. You will see that the primary emphasis is on the spiritual weaknesses that led you into temptation in the first place. Bear in mind that you must get right to eat right.

Download or read book The Good And Evil Serpent written by James H. Charlesworth and published by Yale University Press. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 742 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The serpent of ancient times was more often associated with positive attributes like healing and eternal life than it was with negative meanings. This groundbreaking book explores in plentiful detail the symbol of the serpent from 40,000 BCE to the present, and from diverse regions in the world. In doing so it emphasizes the creativity of the biblical authors' use of symbols and argues that we must today reexamine our own archetypal conceptions with comparable creativity.--From publisher description.

Download or read book Thinking about Good and Evil written by Wayne Allen and published by U of Nebraska Press. This book was released on 2021-05 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2022 Top Five Reference Book from Academy of Parish Clergy The most comprehensive book on the topic, Thinking about Good and Evil traces the most salient Jewish ideas about why innocent people seem to suffer, why evil individuals seem to prosper, and God’s role in such matters of (in)justice, from antiquity to the present. Starting with the Bible and Apocrypha, Rabbi Wayne Allen takes us through the Talmud; medieval Jewish philosophers and Jewish mystical sources; the Ba’al Shem Tov and his disciples; early modern thinkers such as Spinoza, Mendelssohn, and Luzzatto; and, finally, modern thinkers such as Cohen, Buber, Kaplan, and Plaskow. Each chapter analyzes individual thinkers’ arguments and synthesizes their collective ideas on the nature of good and evil and questions of justice. Allen also exposes vastly divergent Jewish thinking about the Holocaust: traditionalist (e.g., Ehrenreich), revisionist (e.g., Rubenstein, Jonas), and deflective (e.g., Soloveitchik, Wiesel). Rabbi Allen’s engaging, accessible volume illuminates well-known, obscure, and novel Jewish solutions to the problem of good and evil.
Download or read book Good Vs Evil written by Anastacia Burrell and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-12-29 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is there to save you from harm. The devil can’t take no more then you can’t ever have in life on what you can have is yours in life who stands by the great waterfalls of life stands for ups and downs everything is meant for a reason because you wonder why your life is so block from others because something maybe missing in order to put common sense together which was unsaid and done that needs to be done. so you cherish the memory of that day of your life every stone you can ever take and every breath in your body, give it to god and glory and take a deep breath and praise God. Trials must be mistaken because whatever you do or whatever you did, it must be something or what you did needs to be fixed and prepared of a dislike compare to or a distance. A distance is a challenge, of course, or a state of mind. What people do for a living is the unit of life. It’s the bad things that you do that makes trials go wrong and bad rather then right. One way it is or another, and one way it doesn’t. What you do or what you don’t do, you pick up the pieces of the puzzles and get it right on time, on the dot and line, and you take a piece of the pie—what you like and dislike and show and prove the way you want it. You talk about the good old times, and sometimes, it’s about the wrong times of your life and the things you did in the past, whether it be good or bad in your wildest dream life. You take that and swipe your shoulders off. The greater it is, the badder it maybe. It can be fixable that same day or a couple of days a head. Trouble don’t last always and not for long. That’s how it works and what should be done, and you take it and fix everything that has been broken. You stand forward to that and be strong and have strength, and whatever that needs to be done and whatever that it is you can’t do, you don’t have to do it or put up with it. Be yourself and do all that you can do as possible, and that’s all you can do. You cannot please everyone because it’s gonna have a passing moment when you can do something or not and you will be tired of it. It also includes fatal attraction, breaking relationships, tragedies, boo thangs, lover and friends, blessings, curses, magic spells, cast of spells, Buddhism, voodoo, and many more.
