Download or read book Evangelism for the Rest of Us written by Dr. Mike Bechtle and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2006-05-01 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most common methods of evangelism are tailor-made for extroverts. But what about the rest of us? Other Christians, including introverted, reflective people, are left with feelings of guilt and fear and the desire to become more outgoing. The problem, says Mike Bechtle, is not their personality, but that they've been taught methods of evangelism that push them too far out of their comfort zone. In Evangelism for the Rest of Us, Bechtle shows readers how to share their faith in more comfortable ways by helping them discover and define their unique strengths within their personality type. With fresh, biblical insight, this much-needed resource renews a passion for sharing Christ with others, because telling the Good News does not have to be so intimidating.
Download or read book Questioning Evangelism 3rd edition written by Randy Newman and published by Kregel Publications. This book was released on 2023-01-17 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You don't need to memorize evangelical formulas or answers. You just have to be willing to ask questions. There was something different about the way Jesus communicated with the lost: He didn't force answers upon people; He asked questions. So why don't we? Campus ministry veteran Randy Newman has been using a questioning style of evangelism for years. In this thought-provoking book, he provides practical insights to help Christians engage others in meaningful spiritual conversations. To Newman, asking questions challenges how we think about unbelievers, their questions, and our message, instead of telling unbelievers what to think. A perennial best-seller, this third edition includes both revisions of current chapters, such as an expanded discussion on LGBTQ+ issues and the debate on transgenderism, and new chapters that ponder issues such as science and suffering. "Distilled out of twenty years of personal evangelism, this book reflects both a deep grasp of biblical theology and a penetrating compassion for people--and finds a way forward in wise, probing questions. How very much like the Master Himself!" --D. A. Carson, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School "Questioning Evangelism steps outside the boundaries of evangelism as usual and tackles the tougher issues of our modern day." --Mitch Glaser, Chosen People Ministries

Download or read book Evangelism in a Skeptical World written by Sam Chan and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2018-03-13 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most Christians already know that they should be telling their friends about Jesus. But they have been poorly equipped with methods that are no longer effective in today's post-Christian world. As a result, many people become frustrated, blame themselves, and simply give up. Evangelism in a Skeptical World is a textbook on evangelism that is ideal for the church or the classroom to equip Christians with the principles and skills they need to tell the unbelievable news about Jesus to friends in a skeptical world. Many of the older principles and methods of evangelism in the twentieth century no longer work effectively today. In a post-Christian, post-churched, post-reached world we need new methods to communicate the timeless message of the gospel in culturally relevant ways. Dr. Chan combines the theological and biblical insights of classic evangelistic training with the latest insights from missiology on contextualization, cultural hermeneutics, and storytelling. Every chapter is illustrated with real-world examples drawn from over fifteen years of evangelistic ministry. These are methods that really work - with university students, urban workers, and high school students - getting past the defensive posture that people have toward Christianity so they can seriously consider the claims of Jesus Christ. Field-tested and filled with unique, fresh, and creative insights, this book will equip you to share the gospel in today's world and help as many people as possible hear the good news about Jesus.

Why do 80-90% of those making decisions for Christ fall away from the faith? For decades, the world's most popular gospel message has been drawing the lost by promising God's wonderful plan for their life. But behind the facade of the "wonderful plan" message is the reality of the trials, temptation, and persecution that Jesus promised. How can we reconcile the two? In this life-changing book, best-selling author Ray Comfort explores whether this common gospel approach aligns with real life--and with Scripture. The vital biblical principles he reveals will force you to reexamine your ideas about the gospel--and will teach you how to reach unbelievers the way God intended. A must-read for all who care about the lost. Over a quarter million copies in print!

Download or read book The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Holiness written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on with total page 1024 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Holiness contains the following books: True Repentance Restitution Deliverance from Sin The Way of Sanctification You Can Receive a Pure Heart Today The School of Truth The Believer’s Conscience The Sin before You Can Lead to Death: Do not commit it! A Vessel of Honour A Broken Vessel Holiness seems to have become an elusive theme in our day. Many preachers prefer to shy away from preaching it. Why? Because they don’t live it. In this way, the enemy is fighting holiness like nothing else, since he knows we have all been commanded to be holy, even as He is holy (Leviticus 19:2). The Bible says, “You must distinguish between the holy and the common, between the unclean and the clean, and you must teach the Israelites all the decrees the Lord has given them through Moses” (Leviticus 10:10-11). So holiness has to do with being uncommon and extraordinary, clean at heart, and teaching it by example. This makes holiness a subject that is related to sinlessness, righteousness, and godliness. It begins with true repentance. A person who has not known true repentance unto God and faith in the Lord Jesus, cannot be holy. Attempting holiness without true repentance would be wood, hay, and stubble, ready to be burned in the fire. He who repents truly will naturally and easily carry out restitution for past stolen, defrauded, borrowed, or unpaid things. Every holy person is uncommon in that he has experienced deliverance from all sin, through knowing, reckoning, yielding entirely to God, and walking in the Spirit. He has entered the way of sanctification. He has received a pure heart and enrolled in the School of Truth. A holy man is a man with an all-good conscience, who shuns all sin because he cherishes his relationship with God. He refrains from all sin because he would not want to court God’s judgment. He has willingly offered himself to be broken and, for that reason, has become a vessel of honour. Following the simple, practical steps outlined in this anthology will carry you into the way of holiness. We send this first volume on holiness out with a cry to the Lord that, He should use it to bring many to the way of holiness that has become so elusive in our day.
