This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of this research is to develop methodologies for systematic improvements of deadbeat-direct torque and flux control (DB-DTFC) and self-sensing for induction machines (IM) over a wide operating range, including very low speeds and very high speeds. The investigation includes the implementation method for DB-DTFC with reduced computational time, extended low-speed self-sensing with volt-second sensing, extended high-speed operation of DB-DTFC in the flux weakening region with encoder feedback and self-sensing, more accurate torque estimation and torque control with DB-DTFC at low sampling-to-fundamental (S2F) frequency ratios, loss minimization with DB-DTFC over a wide operating range, and loss maximization with DB-DTFC for faster braking. This dissertation focuses on the practical issues of DB-DTFC and lays a foundation for integrating DB-DTFC into a commercial IM drive. Analytical studies and experimental investigations show significant improvements at both low speeds and high speeds of the developed methods compared with the existing control methods.
Download or read book Stator and Rotor Flux Based Deadbeat Direct Torque Control of Induction Machines Revision 1 written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-06-19 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new, deadbeat type of direct torque control is proposed, analyzed, and experimentally verified in this paper. The control is based on stator and rotor flux as state variables. This choice of state variables allows a graphical representation which is transparent and insightful. The graphical solution shows the effects of realistic considerations such as voltage and current limits. A position and speed sensorless implementation of the control, based on the self-sensing signal injection technique, is also demonstrated experimentally for low speed operation. The paper first develops the new, deadbeat DTC methodology and graphical representation of the new algorithm. It then evaluates feasibility via simulation and experimentally demonstrates performance of the new method with a laboratory prototype including the sensorless methods. Download or read book Direct Torque Control Strategies of Electrical Machines written by Fatma Ben Salem and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-01-20 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the design and analysis of Direct Torque Control (DTC). It introduces readers to two major applications of electrical machines: speed drive and position control and gives the readers a comprehensive overview of the field of DTC dedicated to AC machines. It includes new DTC approaches with and without control of commutation frequency. It also covers DTC applications using artificial intelligence. The book combines theoretical analysis, simulation, and experimental concepts. To make the content as accessible as possible, the book employs a clear proposal in each chapter, moving from the background, to numerical development, and finally to case studies and illustrations. The book is a wide-ranging reference source for graduate students, researchers, and professors from related fields and it will benefit practicing engineers and experts from the industry.
Download or read book Deadbeat direct Torque and Flux Control Drives for High Power Applications Using Low Switching Frequency Multi level Inverters written by Yukai Wang and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 702 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A deadbeat-direct torque and flux control (DB-DTFC) drive has been a promising alternative to a field oriented control (FOC) drive for general applications. This research investigates DB-DTFC drives on low switching frequency, multi-level inverter fed, high power induction machines. The investigation explores the opportunity to integrate DB-DTFC in high power applications via the following four aspects: proper modeling of cross-coupling effect at low switching and/or high fundamental frequency, torque/flux dynamics and estimation accuracy regarding Volt-sec. error and parameter mismatch, position/speed self-sensing and flux linkage-based loss manipulation. A standard indirect FOC drive is used as the benchmark to evaluate DB-DTFC performance at very low switching frequencies. This research further investigates scaling properties to apply DB-DTFC from kilowatt to several megawatt power level applications. This dissertation lays a foundation of integrating DB-DTFC into medium voltage high power drives. A methodology is contributed that maximizes the synergies of motor terminal Volt-sec. sensing, real-time parameter identification, back-EMF-based self-sensing and flux-based loss manipulation in the low switching frequency, multi-level inverter fed, DB-DTFC drives.
