Como resultado de las entrevistas y las observaciones a líderes y adolescentes de este territorio, se identifica el problema científico siguiente: ¿Cómo contribuir a la disminución del consumo de alcohol por los adolescentes en el municipio de Songo-La Maya?, siendo su objeto los procesos de prevención del alcoholismo en los adolescentes y el objetivo general: Diseñar un programa de intervención psicosocial para prevenir el alcoholismo en los adolescentes, mediante la potenciación de nuevas representaciones sociales de su consumo; En sentido general se aplica una metodología de investigación mixta en la que se emplearon algunos procedimientos del método investigación-acción, la observación, los métodos asociativos y el método clínico para dar respuesta a los objetivos específicos. El universo corresponde a los adolescentes de décimo grado del Instituto Pre-Universitario "Seremos como el Che" de Alto Songo; del que se conformó una muestra intencional y no probabilística, integrada por 20 estudiantes. A todos los estudiantes de décimo grado se les aplicó una batería de pruebas psicológicas para un primer diagnóstico del consumo de alcohol, de algunas de sus características personales y de vínculos familiares. La segunda fase de diagnóstico con la muestra seleccionada de estudiantes, permitió identificar en el placer, el núcleo semántico significativo del consumo de alcohol. Con base en los resultados del diagnóstico se hace la propuesta de un programa de intervención psicosocial para prevenir el alcoholismo en la adolescencia, evaluado de muy oportuno por criterios de especialistas sobre el tema de las adicción.
