Book excerpt: La première partie de ce travail présente quelques éléments théoriques de l'optique non linéaire en rapport avec les oscillateurs paramétriques optiques en régime nanoseconde. Après un court rappel historique sur l'optique non linéaire, nous donnons les équations de propagation de trois ondes couplées en milieu non linéaire, nous exposons le principe de l'accord de phase par biréfringence et celui du quasi-accord de phase, puis nous donnons des solutions analytiques aux équations de propagation dans le cas des ondes planes. Nous présentons ensuite les différents processus paramétriques du deuxième ordre permettant d'exploiter les propriétés des cristaux non linéaires. La deuxième partie présente le contexte de l'étude menée dans le cadre d'une collaboration entre le Laboratoire Charles Fabry de l'Institut d'Optique et la société CILAS. Après un état de l'art sur les expériences publiées concernant la génération d'ondes entre 2 mM et 5 mM, nous présentons les deux configurations que nous étudions par la suite. Dans la troisième partie nous développons les expériences menées sur la première configuration n'utilisant que des cristaux en accord de phase par biréfringence fonctionnant à proximité de la dégénérescence. Son principe réside en la mise en série d'un OPO à base de KTP et d'un OPO à base de ZGP. Pour le premier OPC nous démontrons l'efficacité de l'utilisation de plusieurs cristaux de KTP montés en compensation de double réfraction. Le rendement énergétique de 1 mM vers l'onde complémentaire atteint 29 %. Nous utilisons cet OPO en tant que source de pompage pour un OPO à base de ZGP, ce qui nous permet d'atteindre un rendement énergétique de 1 mM vers la bande 3-5 mM de 12 %. La quatrième partie concerne les expériences menées sur la seconde configuration, constituée de deux OPO mis en parallèle à base de cristaux en quasi-accord de phase. Nous évaluons successivement les performances d'OPO à base de PPKTP, PPLN puis PPRTA, à basse et à haute cadence.
