Les recherches ont montré la nécessité d'offrir un cadre thérapeutique adapté aux représentations culturelles de la patientèle. Nous avons entrepris de comprendre quelle pouvait être concrètement la nature de ces représentations, et dans quelle mesure elles pouvaient influencer la prise en charge. Nous avons donc mené des entretiens auprès de cinq familles issues de l'immigration, afin d'analyser leur manière de comprendre et de ressentir les troubles, ainsi que leur prise en charge. D'autre part, nous avons considéré qu'une prise en charge orthophonique se basait sur une co-construction du cadre thérapeutique. Par conséquent, il paraissait indispensable de nous intéresser également au point de vue des professionnels. A cet effet, nous avons transmis aux orthophonistes un questionnaire portant sur la prise en charge des patients issus de l'immigration. Les différents résultats ont été mis en parallèle. Si d'une part les représentations des familles peuvent effectivement influencer la prise en charge, les représentations des orthophonistes jouent également un rôle. Nous avons pu constater que les orthophonistes ont encore une connaissance limitée des implications du bilinguisme et de la biculture. Il peut de ce fait exister des écarts entre les représentations des orthophonistes et celles des familles issues del'immigration. Il importe donc que les orthophonistes soient sensibilisés aux représentations erronées qui altèrent l'efficacité de leur prise en charge.
