Book Error Analysis with Applications in Engineering

Download or read book Error Analysis with Applications in Engineering written by Zbigniew A. Kotulski and published by Springer. This book was released on 2012-02-09 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our intention in preparing this book was to present in as simple a manner as possible those branches of error analysis which ?nd direct applications in solving various problems in engineering practice. The main reason for writing this text was the lack of such an approach in existing books dealing with the error calculus. Most of books are devoted to mathematical statistics and to probability theory. The range of applications is usually limited to the problems of general statistics and to the analysis of errors in various measuring techniques. Much less attention is paid in these books to two-dimensional and three-dim- sional distributions, and almost no attention is given to problems connected with the two-dimensional and three-dimensional vectorial functions of independent random variables. The theory of such vectorial functions ?nds new applications connected, for example, with analysis of the positioning accuracy of various mechanisms, among them of robot manipulators and automatically controlled earth-moving and loading machines, such as excavators.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "SPATIAL ERROR ANALYSIS is an all-in-one sourcebook on error measurements in one-, two-, and three-dimensional spaces. This book features exhaustive, systematic coverage of error measurement relationships, techniques, and solutions used to solve general, correlated cases. It is packed with 62 figures and 24 tables. MATLAB-based M-files* for practical applications created especially for this volume are available on the Web at ftp://ftp.mathworks.com/pub/books/hsu. Solutions to two- and three-dimensional problems are presented without relying on equal standard deviations from each channel. They also make no assumption that the random variables of interest are independent or uncorrelated. * MATLAB (developed by MathWorks, Inc.) must be purchased separately." Download or read book Measurement System Error Analysis written by Mike Peralta and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-02-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The goal of this book is to carefully define and derive the statistical relationships relevant to the errors that do and can occur in measurement systems. The emphasis is on test systems employed in manufacturing. However, the statistical techniques presented are general and can be applied to any field of science, engineering, or any field which employs the mathematics of statistics to gather and analyze information. As will be explained throughout this book, knowing the statistics of measurement error for test equipment will allow us to know and improve test accuracy and precision, which in turn, will allow us to greatly improve: Product Quality, Test Productivity, and Product Yields. The center of this work is the "Test Capability Study" this is a spreadsheet based analysis that can quickly be set up and give an estimate of the overall uncertainty of a measurement based on a sampling of test systems or test configurations. The "Test Capability Study" is a streamlined and more efficient form of the "Gage R & R Study." Also covered is the "Propagation of Errors" (POE) analysis to first and second order. The first order POE is commonly treated in many fine books, but the second order POE is rarely treated. For those familiar with first order POE I think you will find it a real treat to study the second order POE as it will help you get a deeper and more accurate understanding of POE. As well as treating measurement errors, second order POE can accurately analyze variation contributions to product distributions as well as other variations in physical systems that can be defined mathematically.
