Book excerpt: We regret to announce that we at Sheridan Programmers Guild will not produce a 2016 adaptation of the ERG ebook, but we will direct our users to the official NIH ERG 2016 app, which should work as well as or better than an ebook on many mobile devices. Thank you to everyone who has supported the ERG 2012: Quick Lookup! About This ebook takes the Department of Transportation data published in the Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG 2012) and presents it in a familiar form reflecting the print ERG. As an ebook, this ERG is searchable. It also includes internal links for quick access to information. For example, if an entry in the yellow section (substances by ID) references the green (isolation distances) tables, you can tap/click to jump right to the table. The color-coding of the official ERG is preserved for a familiar experience and ease of use. The ebook table of contents can be used to jump immediately to any section. This edition is up-to-date, based upon the ERG 2012 and includes all the corrections released by the DOT through April 10, 2013, which are not found in physical copies or other digital versions of the ERG. We strive to be not only the most convenient version available, but also the most accurate. The ERG 2012: Quick Lookup offers a speedy and easy platform for accessing the official DOT data. The technical implementation and presentation are unique to our edition. Now available in Spanish and French! The GRE 2012 and GMU 2012 are both available on Play. See "more from author" below, or click "The team at Sheridan Programmers Guild" at the top of this page to see the Spanish and French editions.

Download or read book Fusion Genes And Cancer written by Ajaikumar B Kunnumakkara and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2017-04-07 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Development of cancer, a dreadful disease of mankind, is a multi-stage process involving numerous molecular alterations at both genomic and proteomic levels. Immense research for the past several decades in the field of cancer identified many such mutations and their role in carcinogenesis. Concept of 'fusion genes' seeded way back in 20th century has now grown into a new field of cancer research. However, there is a lack of knowledge among scientists about these fusion genes and their importance in cancer, which can be mainly attributed to unavailability of a comprehensive book on this topic. Therefore, this book is first of its kind and aims at giving a detailed idea on the formation of gene fusions and their importance in the development and progression of cancer; techniques to identify novel gene fusions; and therapeutics available to target various fusion proteins and their impact in cancer therapy by compiling the information from the literature available till date.

Book Kelvin helmholtz Instability In Solar Atmospheric Jets

Download or read book Kelvin helmholtz Instability In Solar Atmospheric Jets written by IVAN. CHANDRA ZHELYAZKOV (RAMESH.) and published by World Scientific Publishing Company. This book was released on 2020-11-17 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides a comprehensive overview of the eruptive and wave phenomena in the solar atmosphere. One of the ongoing problems in solar physics is the heating of the solar corona. Currently there is a competition between two mechanisms in explaining the heating, i.e., dissipation of energy by waves and small scale frequent coronal magnetic reconnection. However, some studies indicate this may be a joint effect of these two possible mechanisms. Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability (KHI) of propagating magnetohydrodynamic modes in solar flowing structures plays an important role in the solar atmosphere. It can trigger the onset of wave turbulence leading to effective plasma heating and particle acceleration. KHI is a multifaceted phenomenon and the purpose of this book is to illuminate its (instability) manifestation in various solar jets like spicules, dark mottles, surges, macrospicules, Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) and X-ray jets, as well as rotating, tornado-like, jets, solar wind, and coronal mass ejections. The modeling of KHI is performed in the framework of ideal magnetohydrodynamics. The book consists of 12 chapters and is intended primarily for advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as early career researchers.

Book Science With The Cherenkov Telescope Array

Download or read book Science With The Cherenkov Telescope Array written by The Cta Consortium and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2018-12-31 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book summarizes the science to be carried out by the upcoming Cherenkov Telescope Array, a major ground-based gamma-ray observatory that will be constructed over the next six to eight years. The major scientific themes, as well as core program of key science projects, have been developed by the CTA Consortium, a collaboration of scientists from many institutions worldwide.CTA will be the major facility in high-energy and very high-energy photon astronomy over the next decade and beyond. CTA will have capabilities well beyond past and present observatories. Thus, CTA's science program is expected to be rich and broad and will complement other major multiwavelength and multimessenger facilities. This book is intended to be the primary resource for the science case for CTA and it thus will be of great interest to the broader physics and astronomy communities. The electronic version (e-book) is available in open access.

Book The Geometry Of The Universe

Download or read book The Geometry Of The Universe written by Colin Rourke and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2021-06-03 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cosmology, the study of the universe, arouses a great deal of public interest, with serious articles both in the scientific press and in major newspapers, with many of the theories and concepts (e.g. the 'big bang' and 'black holes') discussed, often in great depth.Accordingly the book is divided into three parts:Part 1 is readable (and understandable) by anyone with a nodding acquaintance with the basic language of cosmology: events, lights paths, galaxies, black holes and so on. It covers the whole story of the book in a way as untechnical as possible given the scope of the topics covered.Part 2 covers the same ground again but with enough technical details to satisfy a reader with basic knowledge of mathematics and/or physics.Part 3 consists of appendices which are referred to in the other parts and which also contain the highly technical material omitted from Section 2.

Book Firethorn

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sarah Micklem
  • Publisher : Simon and Schuster
  • Release : 2007-11-01
  • ISBN : 1416588477
  • Pages : 402 pages

Download or read book Firethorn written by Sarah Micklem and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2007-11-01 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Firethorn, the first volume in an epic trilogy, is a stunning debut. Sarah Micklem has introduced an unforgettable heroine into the fantasy pantheon. Loving, reckless, and indomitable, Firethorn travels through an imaginary world as real as history and as marvelous as legend. Firethorn flees a life of drudgery to live alone in the forest, relying on her knowledge of herb lore to survive. She returns transformed, indebted to the god who saved her life, and blessed -- or cursed -- with uncanny abilities and a nagging sense of destiny. After a few nights of dalliance with Sire Galan, a high-caste warrior on his way to join the king's army, Firethorn seizes the chance to go with him, only to find she has exchanged one form of servitude for another. The army readies for war in the vast encampment of the Marchfield, where men prey on each other and women dare go nowhere alone. Among the lowborn harlots and the highborn dames of the camp, Firethorn learns to use her gifts as a healer, venturing into realms of dream and shadow. Desire drew Firethorn and Sire Galan together, but love binds them -- a love that has no place in the arrangement between a warrior and his sheath. When Galan makes a wager with disastrous consequences, Firethorn uses her gifts to intervene in his fate and learns just how hard it can be to tell honor from dishonor, justice from vengeance. Sarah Micklem has written an extraordinary tale -- at once magical and earthbound, beautiful and violent. She immerses readers in a remarkably imagined world where gods are meddlesome, the highborn uphold their privileges with casual brutality, and a woman's only recourse may be the strength she finds within.
