Book The Entrepreneur s Edge

Download or read book The Entrepreneur s Edge written by James A. Vena and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2018-01-03 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These days, the word entrepreneur has become the most over used word in social media. The self descriptive title ‘"entrepreneur” is used too often, mostly without much merit or credibility. Whether you're fantasizing about leaving the daily grind of "employee-dom" or dropping out of school for what you think is the freedom and independence of "business ownership utopia", you may want to take a moment to first understand your "inner entrepreneur." Knowing yourself and understanding the "Inner Entrepreneur" (or lack of), may be more important than your vision and even the business model itself. Doing something entrepreneurial, doesn't necessarily make one an entrepreneur. Simply put, it's my opinion that true entrepreneurship is a journey and a lifestyle, rather than merely a single act or destination. It is powered by passion, creativity, purpose, instinct, courage (aka grace under pressure) and a unique charismatic confidence (sans arrogance) to go along with a never give up attitude. This book will also help you better understand how tho innovate to raise hell and articulate to raise capital in its capital raise section. Also covered in this book is effective leadership, the power of optimism and tips to help you become more successful in everything you do by following 15 simple daily actions! James Vena is an innovative and strategic thinker who has influenced key decision-makers globally in business development and revenue growth strategies. For more than thirty years, James has built a resume that encompasses a wide range of industries and expertise in sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, merger arbitrage, technology and executive management. He has successfully developed innovative, high growth businesses and restructured companies that immediately demonstrated accelerated sales and profit growth. His 30 year career has been marked by success across many countries and industries. This track record has established James’s credentials as both a seasoned internationally astute executive and a disruptive innovator with a quick and fearless mind to seize opportunities along with the ability to articulate the mission needed to achieve specific goals. Mr. Vena’s career started as a China trader of commodities in the early 1980’s for a large US firm. After 5 years, he founded his own trading company at 26 and over the next 20 years developed that company into an internationally recognized brand with offices in 24 locations in some 15 countries. After retiring as CEO and Founder of his global trading company to take a 5-year sabbatical in order to care for his cancer stricken wife and help raise the couple’s young children, the always energetic James unretired and re-entered the world of international business. However, this time focusing on his past experiences, leadership skills and entrepreneurial mind-set to help develop and grow small businesses and early stage ventures. James’s entrepreneurial mind-set and dynamic personality combined with high energy, passion and purposeful manner, makes him an effective inspirational and motivational communicator. James has been mentoring entrepreneurs, lecturing students and publicly speaking to corporate leaders on the importance of cultural awareness, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, benevolent capitalism, organizational ethics and his brand of ‘intellectual humility’ in the workplace.

Book The Global Entrepreneur

Download or read book The Global Entrepreneur written by H. Shaw and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-13 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following the 2008 global financial crisis, entrepreneurship has never been more vital. As jobs were lost from large organizations, most new jobs came from innovative startups. The lure of hi-tech has attracted many people who see themselves as future entrepreneurs, but who lack the perspective of the total experience. To meet this demand, community colleges and universities across the world have set up entrepreneurship courses. The Global Entrepreneur is a life-changing book. To leave the comfort of a steady job and enter the tumultuous world of the entrepreneur is a major and often fearful step. For those who are contemplating this change, or who have already embarked upon this exciting venture, reassurance based on the experience of both successful and even not so successful entrepreneurs can be invaluable. The book provides an overview of the entrepreneurial experience broken down into all of its essential elements. Today, startups are global in nature and the book helps a budding entrepreneur understand the effect of different cultures both on the company and his/herself. This book differs from the existing literature in that its focus is on the individual and his or her reaction to the international nature of the entrepreneurial experience backed by both the lived experience of actual entrepreneurs and case studies of entrepreneurship across the world. Business success is measured by financial return. The book will be a vital tool in this endeavour. This book will appeal to students of business or management and individuals who are considering a career change, to create or join a startup, and need more knowledge to make their decision.

Book Mastering the American Accent with Online Audio

Download or read book Mastering the American Accent with Online Audio written by Lisa Mojsin and published by Barrons Educational Services. This book was released on 2016-09-15 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mastering the American Accent is an easy-to-follow approach for reducing the accent of non-native speakers of English. Well-sequenced lessons in the book correspond over eight hours of audio files covering the entire text. The audio program provides clear models (both male and female) to help coach a standard American accent. The program is designed to help users speak Standard American English with clarity, confidence, and accuracy. The many exercises in the book concentrate on topics such as vowel sounds, problematic consonants such as V, W, TH, the American R and T and others. Correct lip and tongue positions for all sounds are discussed in detail. Beyond the production of sounds, the program provides detailed instruction in prosodic elements such as syllable stress, emphasis, intonation, linking words for smoother speech flow, common word contractions, and much more. Additional topics that often confuse ESL students are also discussed and explained. They include distinguishing between casual and formal speech, homophones (e.g., they're and there), recognizing words with silent letters (e.g., comb, receipt), and avoiding embarrassing pronunciation mistakes, such as mixing up "pull" and "pool." Students are familiarized with many irregular English spelling rules and exceptions, and are shown how such irregularities can contribute to pronunciation errors. A native language guide references problematic accent issues for 13 different language backgrounds. Book Hybrid Entrepreneurship

Download or read book Hybrid Entrepreneurship written by Matthias Schulz and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-01-26 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The preponderance of research regards entrepreneurial entry as a dichotomous choice between paid employment and entrepreneurship. Most classic models on the emergence of entrepreneurship either neglect or exclude the opportunity of engaging in both occupations at the same time. This view stands in contrast to increasing evidence that the majority of firm entry around the world occurs by individuals who simultaneously engage in paid employment and self-employment, an entry mode which has been termed hybrid entrepreneurship. 58% of all start-ups in Sweden have been found to be started in hybrid entrepreneurship and even in R&D-pursuing start-ups in Germany, this type of business entry represents 27% of all entrants. Next to this high prevalence of hybrid entrepreneurs among entrepreneurs, there are at least three reasons why these hybrid entrepreneurs should receive more attention. First, as hybrid entrepreneurs are often better educated than pure entrepreneurs, their business ideas might be expected to result in more high-growth ventures. Second, businesses run in pure entrepreneurship survive longer on average if they have been founded in hybrid entrepreneurship. Third, regardless of whether or not hybrid entrepreneurs generate greater economic impact than pure entrepreneurs, their relevance also emerges from their potential to evolve into valuable full-time businesses that otherwise would not have existed. This thesis therefore aims to advance research on hybrid entrepreneurship by revealing its importance for policymaking and entrepreneurship research, the various areas of research touched by it, and its role in entrepreneurial exit processes.
