Many measures purport that employee satisfaction is a factor in employee motivation, employee goal achievement, and positive employee morale in the workplace. Whereas job satisfaction is generally positive the organization's success, it can also be a downer if mediocre employees stay because they are satisfied with your work environment. Several factors including; treating employees with respect, providing regular employee recognition, empowering employees, offering above industry-average benefits and compensation, providing employee perks and company activities, and positive management within a success framework of goals, measurements, and expectations all contribute to an employee's level of satisfaction. Employee satisfaction is looked at in areas such as: management, understanding of mission and vision, empowerment, teamwork, communication, and coworker interaction. Some of the signs of lack of employee satisfaction are high levels of absenteeism and staff turnover and can affect the organization's bottom line, as recruitment and retraining take their toll. But few organizations have made job satisfaction a top priority, perhaps because they have failed to understand the significant opportunity that lies in front of them. Satisfied employees on the other hand tend to be more productive, creative and committed to their employers, and recent studies have shown a direct correlation between staff satisfaction and their performance. For example, employers who can create work environments that attract, motivate and retain hard-working individuals will be better positioned to succeed in a competitive enviro

In China, state-owned enterprises are the mainstay of the country's economic development, and their economic power cannot be ignored. In order to seize more opportunities for growth, many state-owned enterprises have also focused on the digital transformation of their companies, and Zhanjiang Cigarette Factory (ZCF) is one of them.Human resource management is an important influence on the digital transformation of an enterprise, and employee job satisfaction is an important component of human resource management. Thus, the influencing factors affecting both digital transformation and employee job satisfaction were analyzed. Relevant data were then collected from ZCF employees by means of questionnaires and the interrelationships between different factors were analyzed by employing regression analysis and other methods to assess the impact of corporate digital transformation on employee job satisfaction. The results of hypothesis testing show that the digital transformation of top management and technological innovation have significant positive effects on all factors that affect employee job satisfaction. Book Job Satisfaction

Download or read book Job Satisfaction written by C. J. Cranny and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this era of frequent corporate restructuring and rapid technological change, successful companies must have employees who are open to innovation and to changing roles, and are able to work together productively. Research shows that employees most likely to be adaptable, cooperative, and productive are those who are satisfied with their jobs. Therefore, it is essential that leaders of American business understand how to enhance job satisfaction within their organizations. In Job Satisfaction, top academic researchers in the field share state-of-the-art information on creating job satisfaction, its resulting benefits, and the risks of having too many employees who are dissatisfied with their jobs. As they show, job satisfaction is also an extremely useful predictor for management. An employee's level of job satisfaction is the single most important piece of data a manager or organizational psychologist can have to predict an employee's rate of absenteeism, decision to resign or retire, desire for union representation, or level of psychological withdrawal. Before they can enhance job satisfaction, managers must understand its components. Research demonstrates that an employee's level of satisfaction is based not only on events in the present and past, but also on his perceptions of the future. Foreseeing future opportunities for advancement, for increased pay, for participation in decision-making, or for networking lead to a high level of job satisfaction. In fact, the authors reveal, perceiving future opportunity can actually be more motivating than actually receiving a raise, getting promoted, or being given additional responsibilities. Job Satisfaction dispels the notion that jobstress necessarily leads to dissatisfaction, and shows how an organization should focus on increasing satisfaction rather than just reducing stress. It is especially important for managers to stimulate job satisfaction by improving their employees' sense of achievement through making tasks and their objectives clear, as well as giving feedback. Academics and managers alike will find Job Satisfaction a source of new and useful information for understanding and enhancing satisfaction on the job.

Book Conjoint Measurement

Download or read book Conjoint Measurement written by Anders Gustafsson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-14 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: by Paul E. Green I am honored and pleased to respond to authors request to write a Fore word for this excellent collection of essays on conjoint analysis and related topics. While a number of survey articles and sporadic book chapters have appeared on the subject, to the best of my knowledge this book represents the first volume of contributed essays on conjoint analysis. The book re flects not only the geographical diversity of its contributors but also the variety and depth of their topics. The development of conjoint analysis and its application to marketing and business research is noteworthy, both in its eclectic roots (psychometrics, statistics, operations research, economics) and the fact that its development reflects the efforts of a large variety of professionals -academics, market ing research consultants, industry practitioners, and software developers. Reasons for the early success and diffusion of conjoint analysis are not hard to find. First, by the early sixties, precursory psychometric techniques (e.g., multidimensional scaling and correspondence analysis, cluster analy sis, and general multivariate techniques) had already shown their value in practical business research and application. Second, conjoint analysis pro vided a new and powerful array of methods for tackling the important problem of representing and predicting buyer preference judgments and choice behavior-clearly a major problem area in marketing.

Book The Connection Between Employee Satisfaction and Employee Retention

Download or read book The Connection Between Employee Satisfaction and Employee Retention written by Isolde Menig and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2021-12-13 with total page 49 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bachelor Thesis from the year 2013 in the subject Leadership and Human Resource Management - Miscellaneous, grade: 1,0, University of Applied Sciences Kempten, course: Personalmanagement, language: English, abstract: Research results of the Institute "Work and Qualification" of the University of Duisburg Essen from 2011 came to the conclusion that employee satisfaction in Germany is continuously declining in the long run. We are also in fifth last place in a European comparison. This finding could become a serious problem in German companies. After all, which entrepreneur today is not familiar with the emerging problem of the "war for talents"? Shouldn't one assume that companies do the best they can to ensure that their employees are satisfied and enjoy working for their company? Aren't these companies afraid of losing their top employees to the competition? "Only satisfied employees are good employees." This statement is often heard, but is it sufficiently implemented? If you look at the study results of the University of Duisburg-Essen, you have to doubt it. Employee satisfaction has not increased but decreased in the last few years and this should lead some companies to rethink - at least one would think so. Employee satisfaction is becoming an increasingly important topic - not only for the companies themselves, but also for the employees. When employees notice how much is done for their satisfaction and well-being in other companies, they start to think, which in the worst case could lead to their quitting their current jobs. That is why, in this context, employee retention is an issue that companies can no longer suppress. It is becoming increasingly important for companies to retain their "high professionals" who have a broad range of knowledge and skills in order to keep this knowledge within the company. The current Gallup study on the commitment of German employees came to a shocking conclusion in this regard: in 2012, only 15% of the employees surveyed in Germany had a high level of employee commitment. 61% felt only a low level of emotional commitment to their company and the remaining 24% had no emotional commitment at all. More and more companies are therefore implementing measures to increase job satisfaction and thus increase the loyalty of their employees.

Book Factors Influence Performance Effectiveness

Download or read book Factors Influence Performance Effectiveness written by Johnny Ch LOK and published by . This book was released on 2019-04-19 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chapter one Employee satisfaction measurement⦁How to measure employee satisfaction ? It has close relationship between employee satisfaction and work motivation. The right staff can work in the right position which can affect the effective productivity of the company. Also, if employees feel satisfactory , then the company can have more chance to raise (increase) productivity, responsiveness, quality and good customer service performance. However, if any company want employees to work efficiently, then which needs to know that one of the biggest internal strength of the organization is the relationship and communication between employees and the managers. Besides, the biggest improvement is also needed in the field of the financial rewards, because most of the employees are not showing high satisfaction to them.Whether how to measure what the level of employee satisfaction is accepted to achieve the stable productivities? The main subjects will be leadership and motivation to answer this question. For example, supermarket organization, whether which factors could be improved in the target work in supermarket organization every day? I shall assume it has perhaps to cause job dissatisfaction if the supermarket has only the power of money as motivator in supermarket organization. Any organization has its culture. As supermarket organization has also itself culture. However, I believe that cultural traits that can affect the employee satisfaction in any supermarket organizations. Although, any supermarket organization has usually different departments to cooperate work together. Hence, if it has good organizational culture to make different departments, e.g. store, food, wine, stationery, clerical, counter etc. departments staff who can have good communication to work in comfortable cultural supermarket environment together, then its staff can have more ability to achieve the best work performance. How to solve this department cultural difference of challenge, I suggest any supermarket needs have good HRM plan to control its department's employee behaviors. Human resource means the staff who work in a organization and the contribution who make with whose skill, knowledge and competence. The most important successful factor of knowledge based economy in which intelligent organizations are the key aspects of economic growth in the global economy. Why does organization need to satisfy employee needs? Because any staff trend to change working places often, any staff can change their workplaces to gain more respect and to feel more valued in their jobs. So, it can avoid staff turnover ( leaving) whose organization very easy if the employer can satisfy whose staff needs. Thus, human resource plan is needed to achieve policies, recruiting and selecting work force, training and development, workplace planning, ensuring fair treatment of employees, ensuring equal opportunities, assessing the performance of employees, managing employee welfare, providing a counseling service for employees, managing the payment and rewards systems, supervising health and safety procedures, disciplining individuals, dealing with dismissal or promotion, negotiation, ensuring the legality of organizations etc. concerning about managing employees' positive psychological issues, in order to build positive emotion to them.⦁How can leaders satisfy employee needs?Any organization needs have good leaders because leaders act to provide satisfaction or more likely to offer means of satisfaction to whose team members. Leaders don't necessarily motivate. A successful leader understands the needs of the others and persuades them to act in a certain way.
