En este sentido, la modelacion en la matematica escolar, concebida desde diferentes enfoques y perspectivas, permite establecer un puente entre lo teorico de la clase y su aplicacion mediante el estudio de un problema real, pero cercano y de interes para los estudiantes. Es en este proceso que ellos (los estudiantes) pueden encontrar sentido y significado al conocimiento matematico, si bien no a toda la variedad, al menos a los elementos fundamentales de base de los cursos de un programa de formacion en tecnologia e ingenieria.

Recognising that the approach will both represent a substantial change from the ‘content-transmission’ approach to science teaching and be in accordance with current best-practice in science education, the design of suitable approaches to teacher education are discussed.
