Book Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of Arbitrarily Shaped Material Cylinder by Fem Bem Method

Download or read book Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of Arbitrarily Shaped Material Cylinder by Fem Bem Method written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-02 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A hybrid method that combines the finite element method (FEM) and the boundary element method (BEM) is developed to analyze electromagnetic scattering from arbitrarily shaped material cylinders. By this method, the material cylinder is first enclosed by a fictitious boundary. Maxwell's equations are then solved by FEM inside and by BEM outside the boundary. Electromagnetic scattering from several arbitrarily shaped material cylinders is computed and compared with results obtained by other numerical techniques. Deshpande, M. D. and Cockrell, C. Book Study of Electromagnetic Scattering From Material Object Doped Randomely With Thin Metallic Wires Using Finite Element Method

Download or read book Study of Electromagnetic Scattering From Material Object Doped Randomely With Thin Metallic Wires Using Finite Element Method written by and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 5 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A new numerical simulation method using the finite element methodology (FEM) is presented to study electromagnetic scattering due to an arbitrarily shaped material body doped randomly with thin and short metallic wires. The FEM approach described in many standard text books [1,2] is appropriately modified to account for the presence of thin and short metallic wires distributed randomly inside an arbitrarily shaped material body. Using this modified FEM approach, the electromagnetic scattering due to cylindrical, spherical material body doped randomly with thin metallic wires is studied.

Book Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of a Three Dimensional Cavity Backed Aperture in an Infinite Ground Plane Using a Combined Finite Element Method Method of Moments Approach

Download or read book Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of a Three Dimensional Cavity Backed Aperture in an Infinite Ground Plane Using a Combined Finite Element Method Method of Moments Approach written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-08-20 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A combined finite element method/method of moments (FEM/MoM) approach is used to analyze the electromagnetic scattering properties of a three-dimensional-cavity-backed aperture in an infinite ground plane. The FEM is used to formulate the fields inside the cavity, and the MoM (with subdomain bases) in both spectral and spatial domains is used to formulate the fields above the ground plane. Fields in the aperture and the cavity are solved using a system of equations resulting from the combination of the FEM and the MoM. By virtue of the FEM, this combined approach is applicable to all arbitrarily shaped cavities with inhomogeneous material fillings, and because of the subdomain bases used in the MoM, the apertures can be of any arbitrary shape. This approach leads to a partly sparse and partly full symmetric matrix, which is efficiently solved using a biconjugate gradient algorithm. Numerical results are presented to validate the analysis. Book Computational Electromagnetics and Its Applications

Download or read book Computational Electromagnetics and Its Applications written by Thomas G. Campbell and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the first ICASE/LaRC Work shop on Computational Electromagnetics and Its Applications conducted by the Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering and NASA Langley Research Center. We had several goals in mind when we decided, jointly with the Elec tromagnetics Research Branch, to organize this workshop on Computa tional Electromagnetics ( CEM). Among our goals were a desire to obtain an overview of the current state of CEM, covering both algorithms and ap plications and their effect on NASA's activities in this area. In addition, we wanted to provide an attractive setting for computational scientists with expertise in other fields, especially computational fluid dynamics (CFD), to observe the algorithms and tools of CEM at work. Our expectation was that scientists from both fields would discover mutually beneficial inter connections and relationships. Another goal was to learn of progress in solution algorithms for electromagnetic optimization and design problems; such problems make extensive use of field solvers and computational effi ciency is at a premium. To achieve these goals we assembled the renowned group of speakers from academia and industry whose talks are contained in this volume. The papers are printed in the same order in which the talks were pre sented at the meeting. The first paper is an overview of work currently being performed in the Electromagnetic Research Branch at the Langley Research Center.

Book A Numerical Analysis of Electromagnetic Scattering from Two Dimensional Edge Terminations

Download or read book A Numerical Analysis of Electromagnetic Scattering from Two Dimensional Edge Terminations written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-17 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several techniques that influence the low frequency scattering from penetrable edge terminations are evaluated using a hybrid finite element and boundary element method code. The edge terminations consist of a dielectric skin forming an exterior shape with an internal conducting bulkhead. Some of the techniques considered are bulkhead shaping, internal material loading, placement of resistive cards, and the placement of lossy dielectric material rods. The intent of the various treatments is to find a combination or combinations that influence(s) the backscattered field to acceptable levels over a range of frequencies for both transverse magnetic and transverse electric polarizations. Download or read book Scattering by Perfectly Conducting Arbitrarily Shaped Cylinders written by Robert P. Banaugh and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The problem of the determination of the scattered field from a perfectly conducting cylinder of arbitrary cross-sectional shape is formulated in terms of an integral equation which is solved by a finite difference technique. Results are presented for a cross-section which is not a convex domain and the efficacy of the numerical method of solution is compared with results computed from eigenfunction expansions. (Author).
