Book Electrical Energy in Agriculture

Download or read book Electrical Energy in Agriculture written by Kenneth L. McFate and published by Elsevier Publishing Company. This book was released on 1989-01-01 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All aspects of electrical energy use in agricultural production are addressed in this book, from safe wiring systems to the utilization of electronic controls that enhance agricultural productivity. Practical methods of applying electricity to optimize farm profits are discussed in light of benefits to both the end user and his electric utilities. Energy use factors are, in general, based upon empirical data with suggested modifiers for their widespread application. Primarily, the book focuses on the most efficient management of electricity use in agriculture, so that both the agricultural end user (whether associated with food production, product preservation and storage, or product utilization), and the supplier of electricity can share in all significant benefits inherent in electricity use. Unique among the issues addressed, are the many important considerations and interacting relationships between electrical energy use (kWh) and electrical demands (kW). Ways in which electricity use on farms can be properly analysed are projected through the use of tabulated and graphically presented data.

Book Advanced Technologies for Smart Agriculture

Download or read book Advanced Technologies for Smart Agriculture written by Kalaiselvi K. and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-02-27 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings new smart farming methodologies to the forefront, sparked by pervasive applications with automated farming technology. New indigenous expertise on smart agricultural technologies is presented along with conceptual prototypes showing how the Internet of Things, cloud computing, machine learning, deep learning, precision farming, crop management systems, etc., will be used in large-scale production in the future. The necessity of available welfare systems for farmers’ well-being is also discussed in the book. It draws the conclusion that there is a greater need and demand today for smart farming methodologies driven by technology than ever before.

Book Electricity in Agriculture

Download or read book Electricity in Agriculture written by Arthur Hinton Allen and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-26 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Electricity in Agriculture Abroad, the use of electricity in connection with agricultural operations has attained dimensions of which residents in this country have no conception. Yet there is not the slightest reason why British farmers should not avail themselves of the manifold services which it can render them, even at the present time, whilst in the future - we wish we could say the near future - it is hoped that a supply of electricity will be made available in all parts of the land. In a few places, it is true, thanks to the energy and initiative of the managers of the local electricity supply undertakings, real progress has been made in acquainting the farmer with the possibilities and advantages of electrical methods; but these bright exceptions only emphasize the fact that, as a rule, this very important subject has been neglected by both parties - the farmer and the supply authority. There is hardly a branch of agriculture in which electricity cannot be employed to advantage; moreover, it immensely adds to the amenities of country life, and should therefore help to stem the flow of population from the country to the town. In these days of dear labour and falling prices, mechanical aids are imperatively necessary to the farmer; and by adopting electricity, he not only fulfills this requirement most efficiently, but also adds very materially to the comfort of his household. Book Electricity in Agriculture and Horticulture Classic Reprint

Download or read book Electricity in Agriculture and Horticulture Classic Reprint written by S. Lemström and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-12 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Electricity in Agriculture and Horticulture The cause of the astonishing development of vegetation under such conditions has hitherto been held to lie in the long day, which lasts from two to three months in these regions during their short summer. It is further sometimes supposed that this circumstance will provide the crops with more light and heat, the principal factors of vegetation. This is, however, not true, for calculation shows that the quantity, notwithstanding this long day, is less than it is, for instance, in 60 deg. Of latitude. In consequence of the low height of the sun over the horizon, the rays meet the earth in such an oblique direction that their illuminating and heating power is greatly lessened, and this power is also lessened by the great absorption in the atmosphere. Since the quantities of light and heat received are relatively smaller than in more southern regions, the cause of the rich development of the vegetables cannot lie in the long day, and must be sought elsewhere. Book Power Electronics for Modern Wind Turbines

Download or read book Power Electronics for Modern Wind Turbines written by Frede Blaabjerg and published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers. This book was released on 2006 with total page 69 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Annotation The introduction of power electronics is changing the basic characteristic of wind turbines from being an energy source to be an active power source. With prices of power electronic devices falling, these solutions become more and more attractive. Power Electronics for Modern Wind Turbines introduce the electrical aspects of modern wind generation systems, including modern power electronics and converters, electric generation and conversion systems for both fixed speed and variable speed systems, control techniques for wind turbines, configurations of wind farms, and the issues of integrating wind turbines into power systems.
