Book Electrical Measuring Instruments and Measurements

Download or read book Electrical Measuring Instruments and Measurements written by S.C. Bhargava and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2012-12-27 with total page 1888 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, written for the benefit of engineering students and practicing engineers alike, is the culmination of the author's four decades of experience related to the subject of electrical measurements, comprising nearly 30 years of experimental research and more than 15 years of teaching at several engineering institutions. The unique feature of this book, apart from covering the syllabi of various universities, is the style of presentation of all important aspects and features of electrical measurements, with neatly and clearly drawn figures, diagrams and colour and b/w photos that illustrate details of instruments among other things, making the text easy to follow and comprehend. Enhancing the chapters are interspersed explanatory comments and, where necessary, footnotes to help better understanding of the chapter contents. Also, each chapter begins with a "recall" to link the subject matter with the related science or phenomenon and fundamental background. The first few chapters of the book comprise "Units, Dimensions and Standards"; "Electricity, Magnetism and Electromagnetism" and "Network Analysis". These topics form the basics of electrical measurements and provide a better understanding of the main topics discussed in later chapters. The last two chapters represent valuable assets of the book, and relate to (a) "Magnetic Measurements", describing many unique features not easily available elsewhere, a good study of which is essential for the design and development of most electric equipment – from motors to transformers and alternators, and (b) "Measurement of Non-electrical Quantities", dealing extensively with the measuring techniques of a number of variables that constitute an important requirement of engineering measurement practices. The book is supplemented by ten appendices covering various aspects dealing with the art and science of electrical measurement and of relevance to some of the topics in main chapters. Other useful features of the book include an elaborate chapter-by-chapter list of symbols, worked examples, exercises and quiz questions at the end of each chapter, and extensive authors' and subject index. This book will be of interest to all students taking courses in electrical measurements as a part of a B.Tech. in electrical engineering. Professionals in the field of electrical engineering will also find the book of use.

Book Instrumentation and Measurement in Electrical Engineering

Download or read book Instrumentation and Measurement in Electrical Engineering written by Roman Malaric and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2011 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inclusion of an electrical measurement course in the undergraduate curriculum of electrical engineering is important in forming the technical and scientific knowledge of future electrical engineers. This book explains the basic measurement techniques, instruments, and methods used in everyday practice. It covers in detail both analogue and digital instruments, measurements errors and uncertainty, instrument transformers, bridges, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, data acquisition, sensors, instrument controls and measurement systems. The reader will learn how to apply the most appropriate measurement method and instrument for a particular application, and how to assemble the measurement system from physical quantity to the digital data in a computer. The book is primarily intended to cover all necessary topics of instrumentation and measurement for students of electrical engineering, but can also serve as a reference for engineers and practitioners to expand or refresh their knowledge in this field.

Book Electrical Engineering Measuring Instruments for Commercial and Laboratory

Download or read book Electrical Engineering Measuring Instruments for Commercial and Laboratory written by George Dudley Aspinall Parr and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-16 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Electrical Engineering Measuring Instruments for Commercial and Laboratory While much has been written in connection with almost every section or branch of electrical engineering, including dynamos, motors, transformers, cells, and appliances of almost every description, the branch dealing with the subject of measuring instruments used in electrical engineering has received little or no attention from the literary section of the electrical community. The fact that, without these measuring instruments, the appliances just enumerated could never have been evolved, or, being evolved, could never have been successfully utilized, constitutes, therefore, a sufficient reason for bringing the present work before the public. Since the electrical engineering industry began to show signs of rapid development, numerous types and forms of measuring instruments have been devised by different inventors. Many of these are now obsolete, having given place to instruments with greater refinements and on better principles. Though several of these obsolete types are extremely interesting, and, indeed, instructive, they have not been described in the present work. If information regarding them is required, it will be found in the abridged patent specifications since about 1880. Only those instruments in actual and extensive use at the present day are here considered, and these form so large a body that it seems better not to try to deal with the historical portion of the subject I have divided the subject into chapters, each treating of different types or makes of instruments working on the same principle, and I have endeavoured to describe and illustrate each instrument as clearly and simply as possible. Book Electronic Measurements

Download or read book Electronic Measurements written by Farzin Asadi and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Measurement is the process of obtaining the magnitude of a quantity relative to an agreed standard. Electronic measurement, which is the subject of this book, is the measurement of electronic quantities like voltage, current, resistance, inductance, and capacitance, to name a few. This book provides practical information concerning the techniques in electronic measurements and knowledge on how to use the electronic measuring instruments appropriately. The book is composed of five chapters. Chapter 1 focuses on digital multimeters. You will learn how to use it for measurement of AC/DC voltages/currents, resistance, connection test, and diode forward voltage drop test. Chapter 2 focuses on power supplies. Although power supplies are not a measurement device, they have an undeniable role in many measurements. So, being able to use power supplies correctly is quite important. Chapter 3 focuses on function generators. Like the power supplies, the function generators are not a measurement device in the first look. However, they play a very important role in many electronic measurements. So, being able to use a function generator correctly is an important skill any technician or engineer needs. Chapter 4 focuses on oscilloscopes. These days, digital oscilloscopes are the most commonly used tool in both industry and university. Because of this, this chapter focuses on digital oscilloscopes not on the analog ones which are almost obsolete. Chapter 5 focuses on drawing graph of data you obtained from your measurement. Visualization of data is very important in practical works. This chapter show how you can use MATLAB® for drawing the graph of your measurements. This book could be used a laboratory supplement for students of electrical/mechanical/mechatronics engineering, for technicians in the field of electrical/electronics engineering, and for anyone who is interested to make electronic circuits.
