Improved education for girls and expanded employment opportunities for women also contribute to slowing population growth. The report discusses the three key reasons for slowing population growth: economic development, environmental protection, and safety and health. The US sets an example to follow, of foreign aid provision to other countries and of encouragement of developing country governments to strengthen their commitment to family planning and related health services.
