Download or read book The Social Psychology of Education written by Robert Stephen Feldman and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1990-07-27 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the ways in which the theory and data of social psychology can be applied to teaching, learning, and other experiences in schools. Its focus ranges in level from the individual (e.g., student attitudes and attributions), to the teacher-student interaction, to the impact of society (e.g., racial and cultural influences on school performance). The editor and distinguished contributors have two major purposes. The first is to illustrate the scope and sophistication of the emerging field known as the social psychology of education. The second is to provide solid, informed suggestions to educators for the amelioration of current educational problems. To that end, each author explicitly discusses implications for educational practice.

Download or read book Ulrich Bundles written by Laura Costa and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-05-10 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The series is devoted to the publication of monographs and high-level textbooks in mathematics, mathematical methods and their applications. Apart from covering important areas of current interest, a major aim is to make topics of an interdisciplinary nature accessible to the non-specialist. The works in this series are addressed to advanced students and researchers in mathematics and theoretical physics. In addition, it can serve as a guide for lectures and seminars on a graduate level. The series de Gruyter Studies in Mathematics was founded ca. 35 years ago by the late Professor Heinz Bauer and Professor Peter Gabriel with the aim to establish a series of monographs and textbooks of high standard, written by scholars with an international reputation presenting current fields of research in pure and applied mathematics. While the editorial board of the Studies has changed with the years, the aspirations of the Studies are unchanged. In times of rapid growth of mathematical knowledge carefully written monographs and textbooks written by experts are needed more than ever, not least to pave the way for the next generation of mathematicians. In this sense the editorial board and the publisher of the Studies are devoted to continue the Studies as a service to the mathematical community. Please submit any book proposals to Niels Jacob.

Download or read book Sustainable Agricultural Biological and Environmental Engineering Applications written by Muhammad Sultan and published by Mdpi AG. This book was released on 2022-01-31 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sustainable development in the agriculture sector is crucial to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations (UN). There are lots of challenges to developing modern and intelligent agricultural techniques, tools, and systems, by which sustainable agriculture and food security can be satisfied. In addition, carbon-neutral development and clean energy utilization are also associated with the UN-SDGs. Such agricultural, biological, and environmental engineering studies are needed in the 21st century, particularly from the viewpoint of the agricultural water-energy-food security nexus. This book focuses on the recent proliferation and technological advancements in these engineering applications. This book aims to share recent updates on agricultural, biological, and environmental engineering, and the application of these engineering techniques in the agriculture sector. It presents such engineering technologies and applications in seven categories that include energy system applications in agriculture (three studies); irrigation and drainage (four studies); biomass, biogas, and biochar (three studies); farm mechanization and soil science (three studies); remote sensing and geographical studies (two studies); wastewater and biological studies (two studies); and case studies and societal aspects in agriculture (five studies). The editors believe that this book will be useful for agricultural scientists, researchers, and students.

Download or read book Educational Planning and Social Change written by International Institute for Educational Planning and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some of the assumptions on which earlier models and approaches in educational planning were predicated have turned out to be over-simplistic, limited, or altogether not appropriate for the complex nature of the development process in many developed and, especially, underdeveloped societies. Recognizing these problems, the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) brought together a number of researchers, policy-makers, and planners from all parts of the world for a week of reflection and discussion on the past, present, and future of educational planning. This volume is a synthesis of the main results of this international forum, and it attempts to delineate the tasks for educational planning in the coming years. Chapters contain the texts of five background papers, with comments by IIEP staff members; the edited versions of the reports of the three working groups; and a synthesis of the seminar discussions divided into five broad topics that reflect the convergence of discussion. The last chapter reviews some of the observations made at the seminar on research and training needs in educational planning. A paper, "Schooling and Future Society" by Johan Galtung, is included as an appendix. Seminar participants are listed. (Author/MLF)
