Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bring the Peace of Paradise Into Your Life Every Day, No Matter Where You Are Aloha refers to the divine spirit of love that flows through all things. Hawaiian Shamanistic Healing explores the techniques of several renowned healing systems, including Kahi Loa, Heartworks Lomi, Big Island Massage, Traditional Hawaiian Touch Medicine, and Temple Style Lomi. Join authors Wayne Kealohi Powell and Patricia Lynn Miller, longtime students and practitioners of Hawaiian bodywork and shamanism, as they show you how to create space for miracles and open up to the healing energy of the divine. Praise: "My first experience of receiving bodywork from Wayne in 2003 was profound, and I have been hooked ever since. I have been involved in body work for many years and have had hundreds of body work sessions internationally. What makes Wayne's sessions so profound is the depth he takes me to and the magic that gets evoked for weeks after my sessions. I literally feel all old baggage fall off, injuries healing fast, and my energy shiny, new, and ready to take on the world from a place of heart and soul. I now make receiving Wayne's healing work part of my lifestyle and a must for my family and the clients I mentor. I urge you to experience, learn, and dive into Wayne's magic and I assure you that you'll be gifting yourself a spa-healing for your body, mind, and soul."—Satyen Raja, founder of Warrior Sage Trainings "...The mature lomilomi practitioner, no matter the franchise, always lives within the current of authority to heal. The core relationship between the soul and the practitioner is the maturing process. When that happens; the healing that follows is immortal. The place we hold for lomilomi is far reaching, so many practitioners have far moved past the certificates on their wall and into their own expression. In that expression is the non-franchised, authentic relationship between soul and person, carrying the healing that is known as lomilomi. And Wayne and Patti's effort in this book speaks to all lineages in a single voice."—Harry Uhane Jim, Kahuna, healer, teacher, and author of Wise Secrets of Aloha "Many are the techniques for revitalizing and relaxing the body temple, but there is only one that delivers the results of Wayne's Lomilomi techniques. Wayne's unique combination of Lomilomi and ancient breath work promotes the integration of healthy new choices while releasing old ones. In short it is a transforming gift to yourself!"—Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith, founder and senior minister of Agape International Spiritual Centre, and author of Life Visioning

Book Cultural Understanding of Soils

Download or read book Cultural Understanding of Soils written by Nikola Patzel and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-24 with total page 539 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cultural understandings of soil are diverse and often ambiguous. Cultural framing of soils is common worldwide and is highly consequential. The implications of what place the earth has in people's world view and everyday life can be in line with or in conflict with natural conditions, with scientific views, or with agricultural practices. The main assumption underlying this work is that soil is inescapably perceived in a cultural context by any human. This gives emergence to different significant webs of meaning influenced by religious, spiritual, or secular myths, and by a wide range of beliefs, values and ideas that people hold in all societies. These patterns and their dynamics inform the human-soil relationship and how soils are cared for, protected, or degraded. Therefore, there is need to deal inter-culturally with different sources and types of knowledge and experience regarding soil; a need to cultivate soil awareness and situationally appropriate care through inter- and intra-cultural dialogues and learning. This project focuses on the human and intangible dimensions of soil. To serve this aim, the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) founded a working group on Cultural Patterns of Soil Understanding that has resulted in this book, which presents studies from almost all continents, written by soil scientists and experts from other disciplines. A major objective of this project is to promote intercultural literacy that gives readers the opportunity to appreciate soil across disciplinary and cultural boundaries in an increasingly globalized world. . .

Book Teachings of the Peyote Shamans

Download or read book Teachings of the Peyote Shamans written by James Endredy and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-11-17 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A rare in-depth look at the inner workings of Huichol shamanism • Describes the five sacred sites of the Huichol and their peyote ceremonies • Explains how the Huichol teachings of awareness, centered on the five points of attention, connect you to your true essence • Reveals the deep relationship between Huichol cosmology, Gnosticism, and Christianity, especially Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary Taking place in the heart of the Huichol homeland in western Mexico, this book offers a rare in-depth look at the inner workings of Huichol shamanism, which is permeated with the use of the sacred peyote cactus. Outsiders are almost never allowed access to Huichol sacred sites and ceremonies; however, James Endredy, after years of friendship with Huichol families, earned the privilege nearly by accident. Swayed by persistent pleading, he agreed to take another gringo into the mountains to one of the Huichols’ ceremonial centers, and they were both caught. After trial and punishment, Endredy was invited to stay within the sacred lands for the festivities he had illegally intruded upon and found his initiation into the Huichol shamanic tradition had begun. Sharing his intimate conversations and journeys with the shaman he calls “Peyote Jesus,” the author explains how Huichol belief revolves around the five sacred directions, the five sacred sites, and the five points of attention. As Peyote Jesus explains, the five points of attention refer to dividing your awareness yet staying focused on your inner self. This is not a normal state of consciousness for most people, yet when we maintain these points of attention, we discover our true essence and move closer to God. Endredy undergoes dozens of spiritual journeys with peyote as he makes the pilgrimages to the five sacred Huichol sites with Peyote Jesus. He is shocked by his vision of the Virgin Mary while under peyote’s guidance and learns of the deep relationship--strictly on Huichol terms--between their cosmology, Gnosticism, and Christianity, especially Jesus Christ. Providing an inside look at the major ceremonies and peyote rituals of the Huichol, this unexpectedly powerful book reveals the key tenants of the Huichol worldview, their beliefs in the afterlife, and their spiritual work on behalf of all of humanity.

Book The Flying Witches of Veracruz

Download or read book The Flying Witches of Veracruz written by James Endredy and published by Llewellyn Worldwide. This book was released on 2011-12-08 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Waking up in Mictlan, the underworld entrance of the North, nearly dead from an evil witch's attack—this is where James Endredy's gripping true account of his experience with the witches of Veracruz begins. As the apprentice of a powerful curandero, or healer, Endredy learns the dangerous magic and mystical arts of brujería, a nearly extinct form of Aztec witchcraft, and his perilous training is fraught with spiritual trials and tests. Taught how to invoke spirits of the underworld for assistance and use dream trance to "fly," Endredy is subjected to the black magic of a brujo negro and left alone in the graveyard of the brujo masters to fight for his life. He is also called upon to do battle with the most sinister of all witches—el Brujo de Muerte, the Witch of Death. Upon becoming a curandero himself, Endredy takes on harrowing real-life cases: healing a young man possessed by the spirit of an Aztec warrior, rescuing a teenage girl from a Mexican drug cartel, and hunting down a vampire witch terrorizing a small community.
