Download or read book Mineral Property Evaluation written by Richard L. Bullock and published by Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration. This book was released on 2017-12-01 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Everything” sums up what must be considered for a properly documented property evaluation. Less than 30% of the projects that are developed in the minerals industry yield the return on investment that was projected from the project feasibility studies. The tools described in this handbook will greatly improve the probability of meeting your projections and minimizing project execution capital cost blowout that has become so prevalent in this industry in recent years. Mineral Property Evaluation provides guidelines to follow in performing mineral property feasibility and evaluation studies and due diligence, and in preparing proper documents for bankable presentations. It highlights the need for a consistent, systematic methodology in performing evaluation and feasibility work. The objective of a feasibility and evaluation study should be to assess the value of the undeveloped or developed mineral property and to convey these findings to the company that is considering applying technical and physical changes to bring the property into production of a mineral product. The analysis needs to determine the net present worth returned to the company for investing in these changes and to reach that decision point as early as possible and with the least amount of money spent on the evaluation study. All resources are not reserves, nor are all minerals an ore. The successful conclusion of any property evaluation depends on the development, work, and conclusions of the project team. The handbook has a diverse audience: • Professionals in the minerals industry that perform mineral property evaluations. • Companies that have mineral properties and perform mineral property feasibility studies and evaluations or are buying properties based on property evaluation. • Financial institutions, both domestic and overseas, that finance or raise capital for the minerals industry. • Consulting firms and architectural and engineering contractors that utilize mineral property feasibility studies and need standards to follow. • And probably the most important, the mining and geological engineering students and geology and economic geology students that need to learn the standards that they should follow throughout their careers.

Download or read book Project Feasibility written by Olivier Mesly and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-06-01 with total page 591 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a set of tools that will aid in deciding whether a project should go ahead, be improved, or abandoned altogether by pinpointing its vulnerabilities. It offers a review of project feasibility analysis, and more critically, psychodynamic aspects that are often neglected, including how stakeholders interact. It provides a complement to the common techniques used for analyzing technical, financial, and marketing feasibility. The goal is to identify "hidden truths" and eliminate those gray areas that jeopardize the success of a given project. The focus is on uncovering points of vulnerabilities in four key aspects of a project: People, Power, Processes, and Plan.

Download or read book Reaction Kinetics and the Development and Operation of Catalytic Processes written by G.F. Froment and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-04-03 with total page 663 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reaction Kinetics and the Development and Operation of Catalytic Processes is a trendsetter. The Keynote Lectures have been authored by top scientists and cover a broad range of topics like fundamental aspects of surface chemistry, in particular dynamics and spillover, the modeling of reaction mechanisms, with special focus on the importance of transient experimentation and the application of kinetics in reactor design. Fundamental and applied kinetic studies are well represented. More than half of these deal with transient kinetics, a new trend made possible by recent sophisticated experimental equipment and the awareness that transient experimentation provides more information and insight into the microphenomena occurring on the catalyst surface than steady state techniques. The trend is not limited to purely kinetic studies since the great majority of the papers dealing with reactors also focus on transients and even deliberate transient operation. It is to be expected that this trend will continue and amplify as the community becomes more aware of the predictive potential of fundamental kinetics when combined with detailed realistic modeling of the reactor operation.
Download or read book The Importance of Project Feasibility Study written by Temba Munsaka and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2013-11-06 with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2012 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, ( Atlantic International University ), language: English, abstract: A feasibility study occupies a place of importance in contemporary project management. Decisions on whether to go ahead with a project and whether the intended beneficiaries will benefit from a project are informed by findings that emanate from a feasibility study. A feasibility study also helps project managers to determine whether a project is viable and select the best alternative from an array of alternatives that can address the identified problem. The feasibility study is one of the critical activities that are done at the first stage, the conceptualization phase of the project cycle. Therefore the feasibility study must be done meticulously so it generates appropriate and relevant information that will help project managers and stakeholders to make informed decisions on a given project. It must also be borne in mind that failure by the feasibility study to generate appropriate and relevant information may result in project managers making costly decisions that may impair the original intention or purpose of a project. This paper thus examines the importance of a feasibility study in project management.
