Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Is my baby in heaven?" This is the most important question a grieving parent can ask. And even if the little one is someone else's child, the issue remains: What happens to children?those unborn, stillborn, or youngsters?when they die? Can you hope to see them again? Can you let go of your fear and guilt? Can God's love soothe a wound so jagged? With scriptural authority and the warmth of a pastor's heart, bestselling author John MacArthur examines the breadth of the entire Bible and reveals in this compelling book the Heavenly Father's care for every life. "I have sat by the grave of our daughter and son and wondered out loud if my belief that Hope and Gabriel are in heaven has any solid scriptural support. John MacArthur offers truth from God's Word that puts the doubts of any grieving parent to rest. Safe in the Arms of God reveals that confidence of heaven for the child you love is based on much more than mere sentimentality; it is revealed in the Word of God and reflective of the very heart of God." ?Nancy Guthrie, author of Holding On to Hope

Book Children of God in the World

Download or read book Children of God in the World written by Paul O'Callaghan and published by CUA Press. This book was released on 2016-10-14 with total page 608 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Children of God in the World is a textbook of theological anthropology structured in four parts. The first attempts to clarify the relationship between theology, philosophy and science in their respective approaches to anthropology, and establishes the fundamental principle of the text, stated in Vatican II's Gaudium et spes, n. 22, "Christ manifests man to man." The second part provides a historical overview of the doctrine of grace: in Scripture (especially the teaching of the book of Genesis on humans 'made in the image of God', as well as Paul and John), among the Fathers (in particular the oriental doctrine of 'divinization' and Augustine), during the Middle Ages (especially Thomas Aquinas) and the Reformation period (centered particularly on Luther and the Council of Trent), right up to modern times. The third part of the text, the central one, provides a systematic understanding of Christian grace in terms of the God's life present in human believers by which they become children of God, disciples, friends and brothers of Christ, temples of the Holy Spirit. This section also provides a reflection on the theological virtues (faith, hope and charity), on the relationship between grace and human freedom, on the role of the Church and Christian apostolate in the communication of grace, and on the need humans have for divine grace. After considering the relationship between the natural and the supernatural order, the fourth and last part deals with different philosophical aspects of the human condition, in the light of Christian faith: the union between body and soul, humans as free, historical, social, sexual and working beings. The last chapter concludes with a consideration of the human person, Christianity's greatest and most enduring contribution to human thought.

Download or read book God and His Children written by George Hayes and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2020-12-30 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the result of God's mysterious activities on George Hayes's behalf. George has been beholden to God throughout his life. He continues to return God's love with a second book, resuming the exposition of God and the Western World that divulged the works of God as He spread Christianity worldwide. The focus here is an understanding of mankind's advance to high intelligence and a comparison of man's technologies to God's technologies. God's technologies include dark matter, dark energy, DNA, and RNA. Included in this discussion are more details on the creation and sustenance of the universe. An example of the information discussed is the interplay of dark matter and dark energy just prior to and during the Big Bang.A discussion of the climate change problems we are experiencing is presented, including a list of major cities worldwide that may be submerged by a minimum two-hundred-foot rise in sea level. There is a presentation of changes to Earth as Pangea broke up eventually forming the continents we know, and how life on Earth changed as God affected evolution to bring mammals upon Earth and then manipulated DNA to give rise to modern man. A discussion of mankind's religions is conducted. Important findings in the garden continent of Africa regarding distribution of languages are discussed as well as a finding that may lead to the original language used by God to converse with Adam and Eve as well as used by God to direct dark matter and dark energy when He spoke our universe into existence. In conclusion, firstly, God's works from before the Big Bang until the coming of Jesus Christ is summarized. Secondly, a briefing on God's march through time is displayed as the word of Jesus Christ is spread worldwide. Thirdly, the efforts are listed for avoidance of leaving a badly damaged Earth with our coasts and their infrastructures becoming submerged. There are two distinct audiences for whom George has developed both books. The first is the scientific community. The second audience is the average person living on Earth, and there may be passages that confuse them due to technical detail. You may want to skip those passages, and you can. You will still have an engrossing read. But if you reread them, you may develop a complete understanding of the marvels God Almighty has accomplished to bring Earth's human beings to the status we have reached today.

Book Children of Lucifer

  • Author : Ruben van Luijk
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press

  • ISBN : 019027512X

Download or read book Children of Lucifer written by Ruben van Luijk and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016-05-02 with total page 676 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If we are to believe sensationalist media coverage, Satanism is, at its most benign, the purview of people who dress in black, adorn themselves with skull and pentagram paraphernalia, and listen to heavy metal. At its most sinister, its adherents are worshippers of evil incarnate and engage in violent and perverse secret rituals, the details of which mainstream society imagines with a fascination verging on the obscene. Children of Lucifer debunks these facile characterizations by exploring the historical origins of modern Satanism. Ruben van Luijk traces the movement's development from a concept invented by a Christian church eager to demonize its internal and external competitors to a positive (anti-)religious identity embraced by various groups in the modern West. Van Luijk offers a comprehensive intellectual history of this long and unpredictable trajectory. This story involves Romantic poets, radical anarchists, eccentric esotericists, Decadent writers, and schismatic exorcists, among others, and culminates in the establishment of the Church of Satan by carnival entertainer Anton Szandor LaVey. Yet it is more than a collection of colorful characters and unlikely historical episodes. The emergence of new attitudes toward Satan proves to be intimately linked to the ideological struggle for emancipation that transformed the West and is epitomized by the American and French Revolutions. It is also closely connected to secularization, that other exceptional historical process which saw Western culture spontaneously renounce its traditional gods and enter into a self-imposed state of religious indecision. Children of Lucifer makes the case that the emergence of Satanism presents a shadow history of the evolution of modern civilization as we know it. Offering the most comprehensive account of this history yet written, van Luijk proves that, in the case of Satanism, the facts are much more interesting than the fiction.
