Book Dynamic Studies in Acts

Download or read book Dynamic Studies in Acts written by Fred A. Scheeren and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-03-07 with total page 796 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Acts we see the harrowing exploits of Peter and Paul. The book itself was penned by a Gentile physician by the name of Luke. It is of interest to note that Paul and Luke, two of the most articulate, intelligent and highly educated men of their time, together account for 60% of the New Testament. In these pages we clearly see the coming and indwelling of the Holy Spirt as well as the explosive power and influence of the Gospel. Gordon Haresign, internationally known author, professor, speaker, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Scripture Union, speaking about the Dynamic Bible Studies series produced by Scheeren, has said, “These are among the finest, if not the finest, inductive Bible studies available today. I strongly endorse them.” This sentiment was echoed by Dr. Dilo Paul, a materials scientist, who said, “I love these studies as they guide me through finding the answers to questions that arise during Bible study from the Bible itself.” Dr. Richard Freeman, Vice President of Chosen People Ministries, said, “I have found Fred Scheeren’s Bible study material to be quite thorough as well as extremely insightful. I have used it as a resource myself in preparing Bible studies for group study and for my own personal study of the Bible. I recommend it highly to others.” Steve White, Ph.D., author and International Director of 21C International, said, “Fred hits a great blend of commentary, historical context, and practical application. The study questions are clear, thought-provoking and relevant. I could easily recommend this for either individual or group study.” Robert T. Mason, former executive at an international firm and in his second career as a pastor said, “Fred has done it again!! He has a great way of opening up and explaining the Word of God.”

Book The Dynamics of Human Life in the Bible

Download or read book The Dynamics of Human Life in the Bible written by Martin J. Buss and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2022-04-06 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Dynamics of Human Life in the Bible: Receptivity and Power, Martin J. Buss describes the dynamics of human life that are encouraged in the Bible and how biblical guidance compares with other religious traditions. The dynamics include both receptivity (“from” another) and power (“for” or “over” another), often in combination (“with” another). For example, love joins receptive cognition of worth with energetic support. Receptivity, the only way to deal with fundamental values, seeks material and religious benefits and is the human side of revelation and salvation. Public acknowledgement strengthens divine influence. Furthermore, receptivity accepts challenges. These include individual and social growth and semi-identification with others, which has societal rather than concrete individual consequences. Power is crucial in legal remedies and penalties. Life with others is important in practical “wisdom” and in Christian “mutual love.” Buss finds that biblical directives parallel those of non-Christian religious traditions. This situation is in line with biblical views of general revelation and developments in history.

Book Dynamic Studies in Romans

Download or read book Dynamic Studies in Romans written by Fred A. Scheeren and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-07-21 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scholars and students alike have hailed the book of Romans as one of the greatest single literary works of all time. When you consider that it is also the Word of God, it makes the study of his remarkable book all the more valuable for help in day-to-day living. Relying on the truth that Scripture is the best commentary on Scripture, author Fred Scheeren walks us through Romans by tracing the concepts and promises found in this awe-inspiring book through the New and Old Testaments. If you've ever wondered about: how to access the grace of God; how to walk victoriously in the Spirit; what it means to be "grafted" in as a believer; what it means to be heart-circumcised; the role and meaning of baptism in a believer's life; or how to avoid error when studying the Scriptures ......then you won't want to miss this Bible study guide. Better yet, find a group of like-minded friends to join you in creating a small study-group experience. Such a collection of people might also quite appropriately be called a "life group," as the members do more than enhance their knowledge of Scripture. They develop close, personal relationships as they apply God's Word to their lives and support each other in the positive growth they experience as a result.

Book Because the Time is Near

Download or read book Because the Time is Near written by John MacArthur and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2007-03-01 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The end of the world is coming. From roadside signs to science fiction films, this slogan underscores our society’s nervous fascination with the future. Whether it’s a giant asteroid, a worldwide plague, or some other global catastrophe, the end of the world is a terrifying prospect—at least for those who have no idea what it will be like. For Christians, however, the end of the world should be anything but dreadful. In fact, it should be something we actually look forward to. Why? Because God has told us how the world will end. And He has assured us that the end of this age will mark the beginning of a new, glorious one in which we will serve and worship Him in sinless perfection. Our eternal hope, as believers, is intimately tied to the end of this world. All of this is laid out in the book of Revelation. Not only is Revelation the inspired Word of God, it is also the only New Testament book that includes a promised spiritual blessing for those who study and apply its message. As such, it is an essential part of every Christian’s devotional life. Those who ignore Revelation deprive themselves of a rich treasure of divine truth, and the promised blessings that come from understanding that truth. Join John MacArthur as he explains the book of Revelation in a way that is both doctrinally precise and intensely practical.

Book The Climax of Prophecy

Download or read book The Climax of Prophecy written by Richard Bauckham and published by Burns & Oates. This book was released on 1993 with total page 582 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Book of Revelation is a work of great significance. Yet among the major works of early Christianity included in the New Testament, it has received the least attention from scholars." "Professor Bauckham looks closely at Revelation's own literary dynamics as a closely integrated literary whole. He investigates Revelation's intertextual relationship with the Hebrew Bible, illustrating how constant disciplined allusion to the Old Testament scriptures is a key element in the way Revelation conveys meaning. There is fresh study of the relationships between Revelation and other Jewish and Christian apocalypses. And there is extensive examination of Revelation's contemporary context." "Revelation emerges as a work of meticulous literary artistry, remarkable creative imagination, radical political critique and profound theology. Above all, its central message, portraying itself as the climax of the biblical prophetic tradition and claiming to reveal the secret of God's purpose for the final coming of God's kingdom, appears with fresh clarity." "This comprehensive investigation continually breaks new ground. Some of Revelation's distinctive literary techniques are identified and studied for the first time; and a wide range of new evidence from Revelation's literary and historical contexts is brought to the elucidation of the text."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
