All das und noch vieles andere führte zur Formulierung der folgenden Hauptaufgaben: Schaffung eines deutlichen Bewußtseins dafür, welche vergangenen und gegenwärtigen Forschungsaktivitäten trotz unterschiedlicher Ausgangspunkte und Zielsetzungen und trotz der äußerlichen Zugehörigkeit zu anderen Disziplinen als Beiträge zur Fachsprachenforschung aufzufassen sind.
