Book excerpt: Some dreams or visions, if they are symbolic in nature, require an interpretation. This unique book "Daniel: Understanding the Dreams and Visions" unlocks and explains the structure and mysteries of the prophecies in the book of Daniel. It reveals the keys that the prophet Daniel has presented to unlock the prophecies of the Bible. "Daniel" expounds the prophecies in four distinct visions of how God has revealed the rise and fall of the seven earthly kingdoms/empires many centuries in advance. The truths of these prophecies have withstood every attack from every scholar and skeptic. According to the Talmud and the Hebrew Scriptures, Daniel received and interpreted dreams and visions, similar to many other Jewish prophets. This new book brings much needed clarity to the text of the prophecies of Daniel through the definitions of codewords, maps, pictures, illustrations, charts, tables and secular historical records. The Author adds comments only where necessary. An understanding of the Old Testament book of Daniel will set the foundation for a better understanding the prophecies in the book of Revelation. In this book the author adopts a detailed but simple approach to an intricate and complex web of prophetic truths of coming world events. The object of this book is to clarify the symbolisms and cryptic codes in the ancient yet futuristic prophecies of Daniel. For as Jesus said, "And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe."JOHN 14:29. "Take heed that no man deceive you." Matt. 24:4.

Book The Final Exodus Deciphering the Book of Revelation

Download or read book The Final Exodus Deciphering the Book of Revelation written by Christine Paxson and published by Ambassador International. This book was released on 2022-09-01 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is it about the Book of Revelation? Some treat it like a futuristic comic book. Some consider it is too complex to try to understand. Some worry about getting the interpretation wrong—or worse, on getting it right! Some read it trying to “break the code,” as if John wrote the book in a secret code expecting Christians to try and crack it. And then there are those who are terrified of the book and the images, so they just avoid it altogether. For them, ignorance is bliss. The Final Exodus is a theologically sound, scriptural approach to the Book of Revelation. Authors and podcasters Christine Paxson and Rose Spiller examine questions such as: * Where have we seen this before? * Is this passage meant to be taken literally, symbolically, or metaphorically? * Has this passage already been interpreted somewhere else in Scripture? * Does our conclusion of the passage line up with everything else in the Bible? * Is this passage telling us something new, or is it a picture of something already seen in the Old Testament or in other parts of the New Testament? Using the same careful and systematic exegesis that should be used for interpreting all books of the Bible, The Final Exodus brings clarity and understanding to a book that is often misinterpreted in chaotic and irresponsible ways.

Book Visions of the End of Days

Download or read book Visions of the End of Days written by Ariel B Tzadok and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-10 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Bible many dreams and visions forecast the distant future and the coming of the Messiah. Dreams and visions are part and parcel of the experience of the prophet. Yet, more than prophets have experienced them. The Biblical Daniel was one such seer. What he saw and recorded in his book has mystified readers and scholars for many centuries. Once the Hebrew book of Daniel was embraced in Gentile hands, many of its hidden teachings became out of reach to those not trained in the Biblical way of prophetic reception (Kabbalah). The secrets concealed in Daniel have thus remain hidden, until now. This book discusses the path and way of the Biblical prophet and seer; how they were trained to understand the symbolic metaphorical language of picture imagery that is the form and essence of every dream and vision. This book brings to the English-speaking audience exposure of the ancient Biblical prophetic ways, and even gives guidance how some of these ancient practices may still be used today.Going beyond Daniel there are many other Biblical and later Judaic and Kabbalistic teachings about the coming of the Messiah. Some of these issues, such as Gog and Magog, are also addressed here.As a special bonus, there is included an essay that many might find to be controversial. The topic is: Can a Torah-faithful, Orthodox Jew believe that Jesus was (or will be) the Messiah of Israel? Written from the perspective of Torah Judaism, this essay addresses the topic in a non-polemic manner, in the hope that it might serve as a bridge of understanding between Jewish and Christian communities. All in all, this book reveals secrets, both ancient and modern, that once you have been enlightened by them, you will never look at Biblical prophecy or Kabbalistic revelations in the same light of simplicity again.Prepare to see what you have not seen before!

Book The Visions of Daniel the Hebrew Prophet

Download or read book The Visions of Daniel the Hebrew Prophet written by Robert Johns and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries, controversy has raged over the authorship and genuineness of the book of Daniel. Is it an authentic document from the sixth century before the Common Era with a message from God to postexilic Israel; or is it a forged document written centuries later to encourage Israelites being oppressed by the Seleucid king, Antiochus Epiphanes? Robert Johns addresses these issues and more in his thesis on Daniel's visions. Importantly, Johns establishes when Daniel was provided with his visions, and he defines why God provided Daniel with the visions. The Visions of Daniel the Hebrew Prophet examines the metal image, the beast with eleven horns, the Seventy "sevens," chapter eight's little-horn, and the 2,300 evening-mornings. It demonstrates that the enigmatic 1,290 days and 1,335 days are anything but enigmatic, and it identifies the reason why Daniel's fifth and final revelation is so detailed. Appendices address issues of general nature, such as the historicity of Jesus the Christ, the popularity of dispensationalism, the identity of "the abomination that desolates," and the integrity of novels representing the Christian-fiction genre (which focus on a seven-year tribulation period at the end of history). This book will be of value to every Christian who has an interest in Bible prophecy and eschatology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rediscovery of Enochic Judaism as an ancient movement of dissent within Second Temple Judaism, a movement centered on neither temple nor torah, is a major achievement of contemporary research. After being marginalized, ancient Enoch texts have reemerged as a significant component of the Dead Sea Scrolls library unearthed at Qumran. Enoch and Qumran Origins is the first comprehensive treatment of the complex and forgotten relations between the Qumran community and the Jewish group behind the pseudepigraphal literature of Enoch. The contributors demonstrate that the roots of the Qumran community are to be found in the tradition of the Enoch group rather than that of the Jerusalem priesthood. Framed by Gabriele Boccaccini's introduction and James Charlesworth's conclusion, this book examines the hypotheses of five particularly eminent scholars, resulting in an engaging and substantive discussion among forty-seven specialists from nine countries. The exceptional array of essays from leading international scholars in Second Temple Judaism and Christian origins makes Enoch and Qumran Origins a sine qua non for serious students of this period. Download or read book Four Kingdom Motifs before and beyond the Book of Daniel written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2020-11-23 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The four kingdoms motif enabled writers of various cultures, times, and places, to periodize history as the staged succession of empires barrelling towards an utopian age. The motif provided order to lived experiences under empire (the present), in view of ancestral traditions and cultural heritage (the past), and inspired outlooks assuring hope, deliverance, and restoration (the future). Four Kingdom Motifs before and beyond the Book of Daniel includes thirteen essays that explore the reach and redeployment of the motif in classical and ancient Near Eastern writings, Jewish and Christian scriptures, texts among the Dead Sea Scrolls, Apocrypha and pseudepigrapha, depictions in European architecture and cartography, as well as patristic, rabbinic, Islamic, and African writings from antiquity through the Mediaeval eras.

Book Dreams Riddles and Visions

Download or read book Dreams Riddles and Visions written by Michael Segal and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2016-06-20 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The volume contains eight original studies, each of which focuses on a different chapter or central passage in Daniel and offers a new interpretation or reading of the passage in question. The studies span the Danielic tales and apocalypses, offering innovative analyses that often challenge the scholarly consensus regarding the exegesis of this book. The eight chapters relate to Daniel 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, Susanna, and the conception of angelology in Daniel. The studies are all based on careful textual analysis, including comparison between the Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek versions (especially regarding Daniel 4–6), and, in each case, the larger arguments are built upon solid philological foundations. Many of the insights proposed in this volume are based upon the realization that the authors of Daniel were frequently interpreters of earlier biblical books, and that the identification of these intertextual clues can be the key to unlocking the meaning of these texts. In this sense, Daniel is similar to other contemporaneous works, such as Jubilees and Qumran literature, but the extent of this phenomenon has not been fully appreciated by scholars of the book. This volume therefore contributes to the appreciation of Daniel as both the latest book in the Hebrew Bible, and a significant work in the landscape of Second Temple Judaism.

Book Theological Approach to an Interpretation of a Prediction Related to the Book of Daniel

Download or read book Theological Approach to an Interpretation of a Prediction Related to the Book of Daniel written by Gregory DeAbreu and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-10-13 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible speaks of disclosure as a sign related to biblical knowledge. Many scholars continuously study the book of Daniel, and many reveal the interpretations described in the book of Daniel as direct signs given to the prophet from God. Jesus clearly revealed that there would be a time to keep watch. This statement was significant, but what did Jesus most likely mean when he said keep watch? It is likely he meant to pray, be vigilant, to keep awake of surrounding realities that are not dreams but real. Other interpretations offer keeping the belt of truth (Ephesians). Jesus was distinct when he told his disciples the following: Take heed of his prior warnings and look to the Word of God. Watch for specifics signs we see in todays era (often referred to as birth pains). Pray regularly and have sympathy and empathy to others (helping the needy). Look to do his work and spread the good news of the Gospel. Remember acts of faith and Jesuss teaching. Encourage the knowledge of end-time prophecy Jesus revealed prior to his resurrection. The Bible also speaks of a time when there would be great signs from heaven. In revealing Bible prophecy, it is significant to examine Gods plan according to the Word of God. A vision that was considered a natural event produced an event related to the past, present, and history.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the second edition of a 1979 commentary on the book of Daniel. The commentary is completely revised, and the introduction in particular is here much extended and addresses fundamental questions regarding the book of Daniel and the apocalyptic movement it inaugurates (with 1 Enoch). Daniel is an indispensable trove and reference about issues like the apocalyptic vision of world’s periodized history, the notion of Son of Man, messianism without a messiah, the belief in resurrection, the kingdom of God, the centrifugal spread of divine revelation, and the positive role of the Jewish diaspora. This edition is meant for scholars, college and university researchers, and students of the Bible (of the Old Testament and New Testament) in general.
