Book Checking the Net Contents of Packaged Goods HB 133 2017 Ed

Download or read book Checking the Net Contents of Packaged Goods HB 133 2017 Ed written by Linda Crown and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook has been prepared as a procedural guide for the compliance testing of net contents statements on packaged goods. Compliance testing of packaged goods is the determination of the conformance results of the packaging, distribution, and retailing process (the packages) to specific legal requirements for net content declarations. This handbook has been developed primarily for the use of government officials; however, it should also be useful to commercial and industrial establishments in the areas of packaging, distribution, and sale of commodities. In conducting compliance testing, the conversion of quantity values from one measuring system to another (e.g., from the metric system to the avoirdupois system) should be handled with careful regard to the implied correspondence between accuracy of the data and the number of digits displayed. In all conversion, the number of significant digits retained should ensure that accuracy is neither sacrificed nor exaggerated. For this edition of Handbook 133, all dimensions for test procedures, devices, or environments have been rounded to two significant digits (e.g., 2.5 cm to 1.0 in) or to a precision level applicable to the test equipment (e.g., 200 kPa for 25 psi and 35 MPs for 5000 psi).

Book Mass Spectrometry Based Lipidomics

Download or read book Mass Spectrometry Based Lipidomics written by Fong-Fu Hsu and published by Humana. This book was released on 2021-05-29 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This detailed volume covers conventional MS-based “shotgun lipidomics” by which samples are introduced by infusion or loop injection, as well as LC-MS-based lipidomics, which are becoming increasingly important due to the ever-increasing demand for a complete and precise lipid analysis of the complex and diversified lipids in nature. The volume features protocols applying chemical reactions, the on-line photochemical reactions combined with various MS methods for comprehensive characterization of various lipid classes, and quantification of specific and rare lipids. Written for the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls. Authoritative and practical, Mass Spectrometry-Based Lipidomics: Methods and Protocols serves as an invaluable guide for biochemists and mass spectroscopists who are interested in lipid studies.

Download or read book The Future of Money written by Bernard A. Lietaer and published by Random House Business Books. This book was released on 2013-02-01 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE GLOBAL MONEY SYSTEM NO LONGER WORKS IN OUR BEST INTERESTS; WE NEED A SERIOUS OVERHAUL OF MONEY - AND OF OUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS IT. Based on the four mega-trends of monetary instability, global greying (an ageing global population), the information revolution, and climate change, Bernard Lietaer looks at different scenarios of what the world might be like in 2020. The Corporate Millennium: governments are disbanded, central banks become irrelevant and the world is run with Big Brother control by huge companies with their own currencies. CARING COMMUNITIES: after a monetary crash, people retreat into small, self-sustaining communities, like tribes. HELL ON EARTH: in which the breakdown of life as we know it is followed by a highly individualistic free-for-all, resulting in an ever more obscene gulf between rich and poor. SUSTAINABLE ABUNDANCE: envisages a world where we take better care of the environment, re-engage the poor and the unemployed in mainstream society and give back time and fulfilment to the over-worked, while providing the elderly with a high level of personal care. A society of sustainable abundance is achievable - but only if we are willing to re-think our money system and use money innovations that have already proven effective somewhere in the world today.
