Book Voices from the Heart of God s Inspired Word

Download or read book Voices from the Heart of God s Inspired Word written by Allan Martling and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2011-01-03 with total page 93 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These 150 meditations are paraphrases of our common human experience and therefore a way of uniting our divisive world. We find three voices providing food for our journey. The Mortal voice speaks of loss, rejection, honesty, faithfulness, integrity, discovery, joy, and God's continuing presence in it all. The Mediator voice is at times teacher, then mentor, and often narrator. In a very inspiring way, the voice of God is a feminine voice, Mother (El Shaddai, the Hebrew breasted God; womb of our being). Take one meditation a day, in a quiet place, if possible. Chew and savor as nourishment for your mind and soul.

In the aftermath, she does what any sensible woman would - she swigs champagne and considers keying his car. Until someone knocks on her door with a much better idea for revenge. Best man Andrew Lyndon thinks Laurie's better off without Brandon. But Laurie's father - and Andrew's boss - isn't going to accept anything less than a reconciliation. And he's made it Andrew's problem to solve. So Andrew decides to make Brandon jealous by setting Laurie up on a string of "dates." After a couple of weeks, Brandon will be begging Laurie to take him back. But Andrew's plan works a little too well because suddenly he's the one falling for Laurie -- and planning a proposal of his own.

Book Children s Voices Family Disputes and Child Inclusive Mediation

Download or read book Children s Voices Family Disputes and Child Inclusive Mediation written by Anne Barlow and published by Policy Press. This book was released on 2024-05-28 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ePDF and ePUB available open access under CC-BY-NC-ND licence. Recent legislative changes in England and Wales have eroded children’s ability to exercise their article 12 UNCRC rights to information, consultation and representation when parents separate. However, children’s voices may be heard through child-inclusive mediation (CIM). Considered from a children’s rights perspective, this book provides a critical socio-legal account of CIM practice. It draws on in-depth interviews with relationship professionals, mediators, parents and children, to consider the experiences, risks and benefits of CIM. It investigates obstacles to greater uptake of CIM and its role in improving children’s wellbeing and agency. Exploring the culture and practice changes necessary for a more routine application of CIM, the book demonstrates how reconceptualising CIM through a children’s rights framework could help to address barriers and improve outcomes for children.

Book The Promise of Mediation

Download or read book The Promise of Mediation written by Robert A. Baruch Bush and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2004-10-28 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The award-winning first edition of The Promise of Mediation, published ten years ago, is a landmark classic that changed the field's understanding of the theory and practice of conflict intervention. That volume first articulated the "transformative model" of mediation, which greatly humanized the vision of how the mediation process could help parties in conflict. In the past decade, the transformative model has proved itself and gained increasing acceptance. It is now being used in such diverse arenas as workplace, community, family, organizational, and public policy conflicts, among others. In this new edition, the authors draw on a decade of work in theory development, training, practice, research, and assessment to present a thoroughly revised and updated account of the transformative model of mediation and its practical application, including a compelling description of how the field has moved toward increasing acceptance of the transformative model a new and clearer presentation of the theory and practices of transformative mediation, with many concrete examples a new case study that provides a vivid picture of the model in practice, with a commentary full of new information about how to use it effectively clarifications of common misconceptions about the model a vision for the future that shows how the model can coexist with other approaches and where the "market" for transformative mediation is emerging This volume is a foundational resource on transformative practice, for both readers of the first edition and new readers - including mediators, facilitators, lawyers, administrators, human resource professionals, policymakers, and conflict resolution researchers and educators. More generally, this book will strike a chord with anyone interested in humanizing our social institutions and building on a relational vision of society.
