Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The French bunny Jean-Pierre has tracked down Mike and Alex and brings them to the Normandy coast, where the Allied invasion of German-occupied Europe took place in August 1944. A dolphin family is waiting there to take our heroes to Wally. This whale managed to escape the whalers with a harpoon in its back. Of course, Mike and Alex, with the help of many dolphins and a selection of special seaweeds, manage to heal the whale. Wally is so grateful for this that he invites the land animals on a world cruise by whale. The luxury on board the whale can hardly be described. In part 4, which follows this story, it turns out that it will not be a cruise of lazing around, but of meeting some major needs of the sea animals.

Book Mike Alex Parts 3 and 4

Download or read book Mike Alex Parts 3 and 4 written by Peter van Wermeskerken and published by Peter van Wermeskerken. This book was released on 2024-07-12 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 5 Star review on OnlineBookClub. “Generally, the stories are really excellent, being both educational and entertaining,” was the spontaneous response of this book's editor, Jack Turner, after completing his work. The book is now available to several reviewers. You can also read their assessment here. Mike & Alex is a series of children's books for children aged 6-12. We've taken into account the age at which children start to read, using a clear and somewhat larger font and ample line spacing. The educational aspect of the three interconnected stories is largely in the description of the animals' life behavior but also in the explanations and maps of different places in the world. The 'entertainment' factor is a key component, with engaging topics like cleaning the seas and a captivating method of description. This approach has been well-received in my first book, 'Double Spy, an autobiography', published in 2014. In this book, the French bunny Jean-Pierre finds our main characters. Mike is a giant rabbit, and Alex is a large wild boar. They have helped animals many times when they were suffering from human behavior. In this book, for example, they help whale Wally get rid of a harpoon in his back. As a thank you, Wally offers them a world cruise with him. It is luxuriously furnished for this purpose. Once on their journey, they are called upon to do something against the whalers at the South Pole. They notice that they have made the whales angry. Then the tuna come to Puck and Evert to complain about all the people's dirt in the world's oceans. Our friends devise a solution for this, where the garbage is deposited back on people's doorsteps.

  • Author : Keith Coulbourn

Download or read book To Free a Dolphin written by Keith Coulbourn and published by Renaissance Books. This book was released on 2015-10-06 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this memorable first book, Behind the Dolphin Smile, Richard O'Barry told the inspiring story of his personal transformation from world-famous dolphin trainer (Flipper was his pupil) to dolphin liberator. Now, in To Free a Dolphin, he passionately recounts the dramatic story of his heart-breaking campaign to release captive dolphins back into the wild. With wit and insight he chronicles the extreme opposition he has faced from bureaucrats, major players in the captive-dolphin industry, rival wildlife groups, and well-meaning sentimentalists. He introduces readers to famous show animals he has helped, including Bogie and Bacall of Key Largo. And, most fascinating, he describes his struggles to deprogram and rehabilitate dolphins emotionally scarred from years of captivity--struggles that become battles for the animals' souls.

Book excerpt: A thrilling tour of the sea's most extreme species, coauthored by one of the world's leading marine scientists The ocean teems with life that thrives under difficult situations in unusual environments. The Extreme Life of the Sea takes readers to the absolute limits of the ocean world—the fastest and deepest, the hottest and oldest creatures of the oceans. It dives into the icy Arctic and boiling hydrothermal vents—and exposes the eternal darkness of the deepest undersea trenches—to show how marine life thrives against the odds. This thrilling book brings to life the sea's most extreme species, and tells their stories as characters in the drama of the oceans. Coauthored by Stephen Palumbi, one of today’s leading marine scientists, The Extreme Life of the Sea tells the unforgettable tales of some of the most marvelous life forms on Earth, and the challenges they overcome to survive. Modern science and a fluid narrative style give every reader a deep look at the lives of these species. The Extreme Life of the Sea shows you the world’s oldest living species. It describes how flying fish strain to escape their predators, how predatory deep-sea fish use red searchlights only they can see to find and attack food, and how, at the end of her life, a mother octopus dedicates herself to raising her batch of young. This wide-ranging and highly accessible book also shows how ocean adaptations can inspire innovative commercial products—such as fan blades modeled on the flippers of humpback whales—and how future extremes created by human changes to the oceans might push some of these amazing species over the edge.

Book Pupils of the Eye

    Book Details:
  • Author : Natasha Hoffman
  • Publisher : Lulu.com
  • Release : 2019-02-28
  • ISBN : 0244755981
  • Pages : 292 pages

Download or read book Pupils of the Eye written by Natasha Hoffman and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-02-28 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about the Intuitive Wisdom of the Third Eye, and how over time we have lost our ability to trust it, which in turn has disempowered us. In these pages we learn of the Wisdom Keepers of old, the Astronomer Priests, and the six Archangels who created the sacred paths of energy, those that we call ley lines, and the other grids that encircle our planet. It was on these flows of energy that the Astronomer Priests set up wisdom schools where the wisdom of the Eye was taught to initiates who were known as Pupils of the Eye. And our ancestors marked and used these sacred sites, all over our planet for the temples, churches, standing stones and circles that still attract those many people who respond to a deep soul calling. This book shows too that comprehension of the old myths and legends and the folk tales of all continents can be a vital pathway to trusting in our own intuition and provides an understanding of life on this planet and helps us to reconnect with our place in the Universe.

Book Last of the Giants

Download or read book Last of the Giants written by Jeff Campbell and published by Zest Books ™. This book was released on 2019-08-01 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today, an ancient world is vanishing right before our eyes: the age of giant animals. Over 40,000 years ago, the earth was ruled by megafauna: mammoths, mastodons, saber-toothed tigers and giant sloths. Of course, those creatures no longer exist, and there is only one likely reason for that: the evolution and arrival of the earth's only tool-wielding hunter, the wildly adaptive, comparatively pint-sized human species. Many more of the world's biggest and baddest creatures—including the black rhino, the dodo, giant tortoises, and the great auk—have vanished since our world became truly global. Last of the Giants chronicles those giant animals and apex predators pushed to extinction in the modern era. The book also highlights those giant species that remain—even though many barely survive, living in such low numbers that they are on the brink of leaving this world within the next few decades. However, there is hope, for many endangered species can still be saved. As it profiles each extinct and endangered animal, Last of the Giants focuses on the conservation efforts that are trying to preserve the world's remaining charismatic species before they are lost forever.
