Book The Service Dominant Logic of Marketing

Download or read book The Service Dominant Logic of Marketing written by Robert F. Lusch and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-18 with total page 676 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Expanding on the editors' award-winning article "Evolving to a New Dominant Logic for Marketing," this book presents a challenging new paradigm for the marketing discipline. This new paradigm is service-oriented, customer-oriented, relationship-focused, and knowledge-based, and places marketing, once viewed as a support function, central to overall business strategy. Service-dominant logic defines service as the application of competencies for the benefit of another entity and sees mutual service provision, rather than the exchange of goods, as the proper subject of marketing. It moves the orientation of marketing from a "market to" philosophy where customers are promoted to, targeted, and captured, to a "market with" philosophy where the customer and supply chain partners are collaborators in the entire marketing process. The editors elaborate on this model through an historical analysis, clarification, and extension of service-dominant logic, and distinguished marketing thinkers then provide further insight and commentary. The result is a more comprehensive and inclusive marketing theory that will challenge both current thinking and marketing practice.

Book Routledge Handbook of Sport and New Media

Download or read book Routledge Handbook of Sport and New Media written by Andrew Billings and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-01-10 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New media technologies have become a central part of the sports media landscape. Sports fans use new media to watch games, discuss sports transactions, form fan-based communities, and secure minutiae about their favorite players and teams. Never before have fans known so much about athletes, whether that happens via Twitter feeds, fan sites, or blogs, and never before have the lines between producer, consumer, enactor, fan and athlete been more blurred. The Internet has made virtually everything available for sports media consumption; it has also made understanding sports media substantially more complex. The Routledge Handbook of Sport and New Media is the most comprehensive and in-depth study of the impact of new media in sport ever to be published. Adopting a broad, interdisciplinary approach, the book explores new media in sport as a cultural, social, commercial, economic, and technological phenomenon, examining the profound impact of digital technologies on that the way that sport is produced, consumed and understood. There is no aspect of social life or commercial activity in general that is not being radically influenced by the rise of new media forms, and by offering a "state of the field" survey of work in this area, the Routledge Handbook of Sport and New Media is important reading for any advanced student, researcher or practitioner with an interest in sports studies, media studies or communication studies.

Book Reconstructing Organization

Download or read book Reconstructing Organization written by Damian P. O'Doherty and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-27 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This unique book breaks original ground in management and organization studies by drawing on over 21⁄2 years of ethnographic study in a major UK international airport group. Much has been written about the ‘McDonaldisation’ or ‘Disneyization’ of society, but few have been attentive to what the author terms ‘Loungification of society’. A minor mode of organization, but one whose effects are likely to become ever more profound, this study shows how management and organization is itself being reconstructed and reshaped by way of loungification. Drawing on critical management studies, actor-network theory, and debates in contemporary anthropology around the so-called ontological turn, Reconstructing Organization enacts a veritable experiment in business and management studies. Who are these coming loungers? What do they want? Can we manage them? Or will they soon capture us with their talking chairs and ‘crinicultural’ politics?

Book Non governmental organizations and the sustainability of small and medium sized enterprises in Peru

Download or read book Non governmental organizations and the sustainability of small and medium sized enterprises in Peru written by Walter V. Castro Aponte and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-09-04 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a better understanding of the changing roles of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in promoting sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Peru. The book focuses on the domains of organic production, business social responsibility and sustainable production. The innovative study uses a combination of network and discourse analyses to identify the main patterns and shifts in the roles of NGOs in order to deal with sustainability and the market. Two major contemporary sociological theories - ecological modernization theory and network society theory - are applied to frame the analysis. The in-depth analysis of international networks of NGOs operating in Peru provide valuable inputs in terms of changes in network and discourse patterns, and consequently, changing roles for NGOs. Remarkably, social movement, liberal market and sustainability viewpoints are generating new networks and new discourses, with a prominent position of national and international NGOs vis-à-vis SMEs, and in absence of the national state. Next to the usual 'watchdog' roles, NGOs are developing roles of 'helper' in order to answer to the market needs of SMEs. The analyses challenges Castells scheme of space of flows versus space of place and suggests considering in ecological modernization theory both ecological rationality and social rationality in order to advance environmental governance of SMEs in developing countries, particularly in Latin America.

Book Kill or get Killed

Download or read book Kill or get Killed written by Kolawole Oyeyemi and published by Trendy Publishing. This book was released on 2014-06-08 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kolawole Oyeyemi’s insightful and witty non-fiction, ‘Kill or Get Killed: The Marketing Killer Instinct’, delves into the high stakes African business environment, as the author touches on the marketing intrigues, battles and wars that shaped a lot of brands across industries in Africa. Kill or Get Killed is a revolutionary marketing classic that borrowed the war metaphor and likened marketing to global politics and wars that are about shareholding struggles. Just as nations struggle for how much share of the world’s wealth they control, Brands and organizations go to war for shares too. Marketing wars and battles are fought, won and lost for increase, leadership and control of shares in various dimensions. Kolawole submits that in these wars, you either kill or get killed; excuses are too costly. Meekness is not a virtue for the battlefield. It is not an environment for the fainthearted. Gentlemen cannot survive the terrain. Therefore, you need a killer instinct to survive the several battles and win the war. Using some of Africa’s most famous brands and products to illustrate his points, Kolawole Oyeyemi convincingly show why some brands succeed where others fail. He unearths the fatal errors multinational brands commit; and also unveils the success stories of multinational brands that understood the peculiarities of the African business terrain and customized their corporate strategies and mode of operations to maximize value. The author explains why the future of successful marketing lies in creating brands, services, and company cultures and philosophies that inspire, include, and recognize the values, and the ever changing tastes and preferences of the target customers. Featuring an engaging, no-holds-barred wit, case studies and strategic depth, Kill or get killed offers a fresh perspective to marketing practice, and is a success toolkit for practicing marketers, brands, and companies that want to invest in Africa; and entrepreneurs that require marketing knowledge on the go.
