Download or read book Philosophical and Sociological Reflections on Labour Law in Times of Crisis written by Eduardo von Adamovich and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2022-05-13 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Starting from the assertion that crisis is part of the essence of labour law, this volume brings together researchers in the field who accepted the challenge to critically reflect on this branch of the discipline. As the COVID-19 pandemic has had a global impact, labour law across the world must come to terms with a new reality. In this context, it would be prudent to adapt to new circumstances by taking known paths. To this end, this book reflects on what effectively constitutes labour law, considering questions which are not usual within labour law. Insights from philosophical, sociological and even economic standpoints are mobilised to reconcile the past with the future of labour law.
Download or read book Fathers across Cultures written by Jaipaul L. Roopnarine and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2015-08-26 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume offers a comprehensive, up-to-date synopsis of fathering and father-child relationships in diverse regions of the world, helping students and practitioners alike understand cultural variations in male parenting. Interest in the role of the father and his influence on children's development and economic well-being has grown considerably. This edited volume uses detailed accounts to provide culturally situated analysis of fathering in cultures around the world. The book's contributors, a multidisciplinary group of scholars, bring together the most recent theoretical thinking and research findings on fatherhood and fathering in cultural communities across developed, recently developed, and developing societies. They address such issues as fathering and gender equality in caregiving, concepts of masculinity in contemporary societies, fathering in various ethnic groups, immigrant fathers, fathering and childhood outcomes, and social policies as they affect and are affected by issues related to fathering. Organized geographically, the book scrutinizes major sociocultural, demographic, economic, and other factors that influence men's relationships within families. It shows how economic conditions impact men's involvement with children and considers the effects of ideological belief systems and views of spousal/partner roles and responsibilities. The analysis is underpinned by recent data that underscores the significance of fathers' involvement with and investment in the well-being of their children.
Download or read book Current Trends in Slavery Studies in Brazil written by Stephan Conermann and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-05-22 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Urban Policy in the Framework of the 2030 Agenda written by María Ángeles Huete García and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-01 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book provides comparative information about the materialization of the 2030 Agenda in urban policy in ten countries located in Europe and Latin America. The Declaration of Quito is the starting point for the implementation of SDGs into public policies in urban areas. However, there are fewer efforts to understand the impact that the 2030 Agenda and, specifically, the instruments developed for its application in cities. The information of each country is presented in relation to two aspects: the construction of a public policy style in each country and the results and impacts on urban public policies implemented in specific cities within the national frameworks. The first means the emergence of a public policy framework and its materialization in public policy instruments. In this regard, the book raises the following questions: To what extent have the SDGs come to generate a common framework for cities in the countries? And how Urban SDGs are translated to national urban policies? The second, results and impacts at the local level, is related to two aspects: a) substantive: the goals of the policy and b) procedural: management aspects related to the policy design, governance, and institutional capacity building.
