Book Deep Earth Conductivity Measurement Techniques

Download or read book Deep Earth Conductivity Measurement Techniques written by J. J. JACOBSON and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since 1960 DECO Electronics, Inc. has obtained considerable experience in the technique of measuring the electrical conductivity of the earth. This report deals specifically with the four-terminal array methods, their underlying theory and interpretation procedures. Field techniques for concentrated shallow surveys or deep crustal surveys are given. The instrumentation for the shallow surveys consists of commercially available components, whereas the equipment for the deep measurements was designed and built by DECO. The appendix to this report, A Manual for the Interpretation of Layered Conductivity Curves for the Sequency High-Low-High, by Dr. G.V. Keller, discusses in detail many of the problems associated with the real earth in contrast to the idealized earth for which most of the theory has previously been developed. Theoretical curves for several two and three layer cases, effective spacing curves and cross dipole curves are included in the set of curves. (Author).

Book Electromagnetic Induction Techniques

Download or read book Electromagnetic Induction Techniques written by PG Cook and published by CSIRO PUBLISHING. This book was released on 1998-08-01 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electromagnetic induction (EM) techniques are used in recharge/discharge studies by providing measurements of the apparent electrical conductivity of soil profiles. This booklet provides a summary of EM techniques that are most widely used. A number of case studies are presented which demonstrate the applications of the techniques to field problems.

Book Foundations of Geophysical Electromagnetic Theory and Methods

Download or read book Foundations of Geophysical Electromagnetic Theory and Methods written by Michael S Zhdanov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2017-10-26 with total page 806 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Foundations of Geophysical Electromagnetic Theory and Methods, Second Edition, builds on the strength of the first edition to offer a systematic exposition of geophysical electromagnetic theory and methods. This new edition highlights progress made over the last decade, with a special focus on recent advances in marine and airborne electromagnetic methods. Also included are recent case histories on practical applications in tectonic studies, mineral exploration, environmental studies and off-shore hydrocarbon exploration. The book is ideal for geoscientists working in all areas of geophysics, including exploration geophysics and applied physics, as well as graduate students and researchers working in the field of electromagnetic theory and methods. Presents theoretical and methodological foundations of geophysical field theory Synthesizes fundamental theory and the most recent achievements of electromagnetic (EM) geophysical methods in the framework of a unified systematic exposition Offers a unique breadth and completeness in providing a general picture of the current state-of-the-art in EM geophysical technology Discusses practical aspects of EM exploration for mineral and energy resources
