Reduce is free software, so everybody can download it and make experiments using the programs available at our website.

Book Algebraic and Symbolic Computation Methods in Dynamical Systems

Download or read book Algebraic and Symbolic Computation Methods in Dynamical Systems written by Alban Quadrat and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-05-30 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims at reviewing recent progress in the direction of algebraic and symbolic computation methods for functional systems, e.g. ODE systems, differential time-delay equations, difference equations and integro-differential equations. In the nineties, modern algebraic theories were introduced in mathematical systems theory and in control theory. Combined with real algebraic geometry, which was previously introduced in control theory, the past years have seen a flourishing development of algebraic methods in control theory. One of the strengths of algebraic methods lies in their close connections to computations. The use of the above-mentioned algebraic theories in control theory has been an important source of motivation to develop effective versions of these theories (when possible). With the development of computer algebra and computer algebra systems, symbolic methods for control theory have been developed over the past years. The goal of this book is to propose a partial state of the art in this direction. To make recent results more easily accessible to a large audience, the chapters include materials which survey the main mathematical methods and results and which are illustrated with explicit examples.

This book was released on 2019-01-03 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algorithms previously developed by the author give formulas which can be used for the efficient symbolic computation of series expansions to solutions of nonlinear systems of ordinary differential equations. As a by product of this analysis, formulas are derived which relate to trees to the coefficients of the series expansions, similar to the work of Leroux and Viennot, and Lamnabhi, Leroux and Viennot. Book Loewy Decomposition of Linear Differential Equations

Download or read book Loewy Decomposition of Linear Differential Equations written by Fritz Schwarz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-09-29 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The central subject of the book is the generalization of Loewy's decomposition - originally introduced by him for linear ordinary differential equations - to linear partial differential equations. Equations for a single function in two independent variables of order two or three are comprehensively discussed. A complete list of possible solution types is given. Various ad hoc results available in the literature are obtained algorithmically. The border of decidability for generating a Loewy decomposition are explicitly stated. The methods applied may be generalized in an obvious way to equations of higher order, in more variables or systems of such equations.

Book Numerical Solutions for Partial Differential Equations

Download or read book Numerical Solutions for Partial Differential Equations written by Victor Grigor'e Ganzha and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1996-07-12 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Partial differential equations (PDEs) play an important role in the natural sciences and technology, because they describe the way systems (natural and other) behave. The inherent suitability of PDEs to characterizing the nature, motion, and evolution of systems, has led to their wide-ranging use in numerical models that are developed in order to analyze systems that are not otherwise easily studied. Numerical Solutions for Partial Differential Equations contains all the details necessary for the reader to understand the principles and applications of advanced numerical methods for solving PDEs. In addition, it shows how the modern computer system algebra Mathematica® can be used for the analytic investigation of such numerical properties as stability, approximation, and dispersion.

Book Symbolic Computation

Download or read book Symbolic Computation written by Robert Grossman and published by SIAM. This book was released on 1989-01-01 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a monograph that describes current research efforts in the application of symbolic computation to several areas, including dynamical systems, differential geometry, Lie algebras, numerical analysis, fluid dynamics, perturbation theory, control theory, and mechanics. The chapters, which illustrate how symbolic computations can be used to study various mathematical structures, are outgrowths of the invited talks that were presented at the NASA-Ames Workshop on The Use of Symbolic Methods to Solve Algebraic and Geometric Problems Arising in Engineering. More than 100 people participated in the two-day conference, which took place in January 1987 at the NASA-Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California. The field of symbolic computation is becoming increasingly important in science, engineering, and mathematics. The availability of powerful computer algebra systems on workstations has made symbolic computation an important tool for many researchers.
