Download or read book Sacramental Theology written by Herbert Vorgrimler and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 1992 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both resistance to and renewed interest in the sacraments mark current theological thought. This work acknowledges human limitations of the sacraments but stresses that God's relationship to human beings cannot be other than sacramental." Sacramental structures and events constitute salvation history, and thus permeate all theology. What makes this sacramental view comprehensible is faith; faith is an indispensable precondition for a sacramental theology. Therefore, the author first demonstrates the preconditions of faith on which sacramental theology rests, and what place it holds within the whole of theology. Following this, he briefly presents the concept of sacraments and the history of that concept, the teachings of Church tradition on sacraments in general, and the basic features of a sacramental theology. Next, he explains from a theological perspective the traditional sacraments of the Catholic Church, including related topics such as indulgences and sacramentals.

Download or read book Zukunftsraum Liturgie written by Peter Ebenbauer and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2019 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Wir teilen diesen Traum written by Paul M. Zulehner and published by Patmos Verlag. This book was released on 2019-04-01 with total page 1407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. ----- Pope Francis wishes to see far-reaching reforms in the Church: A revolution from above is happening. His Holiness works synodally. He has upgraded the Conference of Bishops; 'mercy' has become the watchword for pastoral practice in the Church. The Pope is concerned with the healing of wounds – individual wounds, which we use to beat one another (in divorce cases for example), the wounds of the poor and those of creation. In his reform of the Church, the Pope faces increasing resistance, some suspect him of heresy. In response to this, Tomáš Halík and Paul Zulehner have written an open letter to the Pope in support of his reform. Over 75.000 people have signed the letter, including more than 150 prominent figures from the world of academia. These come from every corner of the Universal Church: from Taipei to Sao Paolo, from Oxford to Harvard, from Warsaw to London and Berlin. Emotional support is supported by reason. ” This book documents all 150 contributions. ” Paul M. Zulehner has written an explosive introduction.

Book excerpt: This study explores notions of ornamentation and materiality in 10th and 11th century manuscript illumination. So-called textile pages evoking the weave patterns of Byzantine and Islamic silk, show that ornament has metaphoric meaning and serves distinct functions in religious art. A contextualized reading investigates the ways in which textile pages relate to medieval theological issues, the liturgy, and contribute to medieval book culture.
Download or read book Studies in Patristic Christology written by Thomas Finan and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ten papers from the October 1996 conference. The only intervention the organizers of the conference imposed on the writers' treatments of topics in Patristic Christianity was that some treatment of each topic by writers in the early Irish church be included. The papers discuss such subjects as the Christological content of St. Augustine's De Trinitate, interpretation of the Psalms in the early Irish church, and Christ as the focus of Genesis exegesis in Isidore of Seville.
