La segunda, tercera y cuarta parte se centra, respectivamente, en la realización de los tres grandes tipos de dibujo a mano alzada en arquitectura: el croquis, el boceto y el apunte. Para trabajar en todos ellos se explican los diversos tipos de proyección usuales y los procedimientos de trabajo para dibujarlos, como la toma de medidas, la aplicación de sombras y los detalles a tener en cuenta cuando se dibuja en interiores o en el exterior. La última parte se dedica en explicar cómo se realizan en la práctica un croquis, a partir de una construcción existente, de toda clase de bocetos, desde los primeros trazos hasta los de presentación para un proyecto no construido; y por último, una muestra de apuntes de viaje, donde el dibujo arquitectónica capta la esencia y concreta la esencia de las construcciones de un lugar, en este caso el nuevo Berlín.
