Book Pressure Vessels and Piping Systems

Download or read book Pressure Vessels and Piping Systems written by and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pressure vessel and piping systems are widely used throughout industry and research laboratories and contain a very large concentration of energy, and yet, despite the fact that their design and installation comply with federal, state and local regulations and recognized industrial standards, there continue to be serious pressure equipment failures. There are many reasons for pressure equipment failure: degradation and thinning of materials with usage, aging, hidden flaws during fabrication, etc. Fortunately, periodic testing and internal and external inspections significantly improve the safety of a pressure vessel or facility. A good testing and inspection program is based on development of procedures for specific industries or types of vessels. This paper describes the elements that should be a part of a pressure testing safety program and the requirements that it should address. The program should comply with pressure safety standards and include the requirements for inspecting pressure vessels, establishing and implementing a written pressure system test work permit, maintaining safety in the testing area, developing in-place pressure testing procedures, keeping records for pressure test calculations and results, and evaluating the system's internal and external integrity.

Book Pressure Equipment Technology

Download or read book Pressure Equipment Technology written by W. M. Banks and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2003-06-27 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The safe design and operation of pressure equipment and pressure systems is key to much of the infrastructure in any present-day industrial society. This book presents an amalgam of best practice from a range of international specialists, as well as highlighting new areas that require research and development. In May 2002, pressure equipment took a major step forward with the emergence of the first edition of the new European Standard EN13445. Pressure Equipment Technology; Theory and Practice not only describes and analyses the status of the new Standard (providing underpinning data) but primarily it seeks to provide new light and present new information on many of the areas where there is insufficient coverage in EN13445 or other Standards. The information is presented in a variety of ways in order to make it useful not only for the specialist but for the general reader as well. The researcher in pressure vessel technology will find here a comprehensive and up-to date picture on many important and vital topics that need to be considered. The non-expert will also find a variety of different analysis approaches that will give interest in a whole spectrum of pressure equipment and storage vessels. The papers and information included in this volume give expert guidance on a variety of important topics that must be understood if appropriate design of pressure equipment is going to be undertaken. These include, Piping and Finite Element Analysis Saddles - Plastic Collapse Loads Vessel Ends and Eccentric Loads Containment Vessels Explosive Loading Welding and Fatigue

Book Research on Safety Technology and Management of Pressure Vessel

Download or read book Research on Safety Technology and Management of Pressure Vessel written by Jie Lv, 1st and published by . This book was released on 2022-12-31 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the continuous development of the economy, the use of domestic pressure vessels is a rapid growth trend. Pressure vessels belong to special equipment, with a large number of extensive, influencing factors, technical requirements and other characteristics, but also the existence of combustion, explosion, poisoning and other dangerous, harmful factors, once the accident occurs, it is easy to cause catastrophic consequences. Pressure vessel safety operation has its objective laws, understanding the pressure vessel in the selection of materials, design, manufacturing, inspection, use and supervision and management and other aspects of risk, strengthen the safety awareness of technical personnel and management, master the objective laws of damage and failure, can effectively reduce or avoid pressure vessel accidents. Therefore, the business quality of the management, technical personnel and safety personnel of enterprises is increasingly demanding. We hope to use the book "Pressure Vessel Safety Technology and Management Research" to provide some reference for the relevant personnel of enterprises.Taking pressure vessel as the object, this book mainly introduces the stress analysis of pressure vessel pressurized shell; strength design of pressure vessel; manufacturing and inspection safety of pressure vessel; safety device of pressure vessel; accident and prevention of pressure vessel; safety management of pressure vessel and other aspects. This book can be used for higher education institutions of process equipment and control engineering, safety engineering, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical and related majors, and also for professional and technical personnel engaged in the design, manufacture, use management and supervision and inspection of pressure vessels and engineering management personnel reference. This book is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1 is an overview; Chapter 2 is the pressure vessel stress analysis and manufacturing; Chapter 3 is the failure form and explosion hazard of pressure vessels; Chapter 4 is the pressure vessel safety device; Chapter 5 is the periodic inspection of pressure vessels; Chapter 6 is the pressure vessel safety testing technology; Chapter 7 is the safe operation and maintenance of pressure vessels; Chapter 8 is the pressure vessel accident analysis and risk management; Chapter 9 is the pressure vessel Use management.
