The atlas is in the form of a computer-based geographic information system (GIS) product developed to run on a personal computer using Intera Tydac SpansMap software. Information is included on the atlas structure, base maps and image processing, GIS applications, shoreline description, biological and fisheries description, human use description, physical environment and logistics facilities inclusion, countermeasures options considered for the area, and future enhancements of the atlas. Samples of map products available from the atlas are provided. The appendix includes a catalogue of atlas data files, classification schemes, and geographical descriptions of atlas regions.

Geographic Citizen Science Design takes an anthropological and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) stance to provide the theoretical and methodological foundations to support the design, development and evaluation of citizen science projects and their user-friendly applications.
