Boride concentration was between 7 and 30 volume percent. Two control rod geometries were considered: cylindrical rods and rectangular flat plates. Various methods of fabrication were applied including co-extrusion, braze-diffusion bonding, picture frame rolling, and rectangular tube rolling. The relative advantages and disadvantages of each method with respect to a particular set of design criteria are presented.
