Download or read book Destiny by Design written by Fred H. Small and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-10 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, Destiny by Design, begins with the portrait of a world as seen by a curious three year old African American boy. This boy was born at a very difficult time in history, grew up in a toxic world of challenging variables. Yet he clung tenaciously to the belief that life's episodes can be meaningful when clearly interpreted for the inquisitive mind. King David wrote: "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread" Psalms 37:25 KJV. The author presents living proof that principles, practices, promises and plans, as exercised herein, will work miraculously for you as it has for him. Your destiny is by design. I urge you, Cooperate with the designer. Contrary to some belief systems, no one was predestined to be a failure. Success is: The progressive realization of personal, pre-determined, worthwhile goals. Once a noble goal has been set, any progress toward that goal is measurable success. Our creator declares: "I know the thoughts I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not evil, to give you an expected end." Jer. 29:11 "Before I formed you in the belly I knew you" Jer. 1:5a. "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil 4:19 KJV. We are not cosmic errors. We are gifted, anointed, commissioned, and Sent to earth to carry out a divine plan. Your Destiny is by Design. Destiny by Design does clearly illustrate how purpose is found and how plans for our mission and ministry on earth are joyously carried out. You can't lose with the stuff God use.

Download or read book Manifest Design written by Thomas R. Hietala and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2003 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Praise for the earlier edition-- "A fascinating, thought-provoking book.... Hietala shows that it was not destiny but design and aggression that enabled the United States to control Texas, New Mexico, and California."--Historian"Hietala has examined an impressive array of primary and secondary materials.... His handling of the relationship between the domestic and foreign policies of the decade shatters some myths about America's so-called manifest destiny and deserves the attention of all scholars and serious students of the period."--Western Historical Quarterly Since 1845, the phrase "manifest destiny" has offered a simple and appealing explanation of the dramatic expansionism of the United States. In this incisive book, Thomas R. Hietala reassesses the complex factors behind American policymaking during the late Jacksonian era. Hietala argues that the quest for territorial and commercial gains was based more on a desire for increased national stability than on any response to demands by individual pioneers or threats from abroad.

Summary Design and Destiny : Jewish and Christian Perspectives on Human Germline Modification by Cole-Turner, Ronald (Editor) Terms of use We are approaching the day when advances in biotechnology will allow parents to "design" a baby with the traits they want. The continuing debate over the possibilities of genetic engineering has been spirited, but so far largely confined to the realms of bioethics and public policy. Design and Destiny approaches the question in religious terms, discussing human germline modification (the genetic modification of the embryonic cells that become the eggs or sperm of a developing organism) from the viewpoints of traditional Christian and Jewish teaching. The contributors, leading religious scholars and writers, call our attention not to technology but to humanity, reflecting upon the meaning and destiny of human life in a technological age. Many of these scholars argue that religious teaching can support human germline modification implemented for therapeutic reasons, although they offer certain moral conditions that must be met. The essays offer a surprising variety of opinions, including a discussion of Judaism's traditional presumption in favor of medicine, an argument that Catholic doctrine could accept germline modification if it is therapeutic for the embryo, an argument implying that "traditional" Christian teaching permits germline modification whether for therapy or enhancement, and a "classical" Protestant view that germline modification should be categorically opposed. Download or read book Marina Font written by Marina Font and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anatomy is Destiny is the first monograph of artist Marina Font. Her photo-based work explores ideas about identity, gender, territory, language, memory and the forces of the unconscious. The book¿s title, stemming from Freud, also speaks to the ever-evolving understanding of gender and self-realization in the 21st century. The unique pieces reproduced in Anatomy is Destiny stem from a single source photograph made by Font of a nude female figure. Reminiscent of Da Vinci¿s Vitruvian Man, but with arms down and palms forward, the black and white photograph is both consistent and variant as Font renders each piece through application of embroidery, paint, yarn, and other materials. Through the rituals of these traditionally feminine practices, she, in her own words, ¿opens a dialogue between biology and psychology, our social and private persona¿ in the ¿evolving mutability¿ of womanhood.
