Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A must-have desktop reference for school administrators! The Administrator's Handbook, now in its third edition, is a practical and informative text that offers answers to those questions that often only experience can answer. The easy-to-browse Q&A format includes chapters on: Student Discipline; Student Activities; Health and Safety; Parent-School Connection; Curriculum and Instruction; Athletics; Supervision and Evaluation; Special Education; and Transportation. This handbook is unique because it contains questions that have been designed by practicing administrators who are actively involved in the daily work of school leadership. As a result, the questions in this handbook have come from a cross section of administrators, including principals, assistant principals, CSE chairpeople, and athletic directors. Our writers who developed the answers to the questions have extensive experience as school administrators and/or working with school districts through BOCES. School leaders are encouraged to review local policies, and when legal interpretations are involved, they are urged to work with the superintendent, school attorney, and professional association to obtain appropriate legal counsel. This is especially important relative to the principal and teacher evaluation (APPR) laws and regulations, which continue to evolve.

With solid theological grounding, Fred P. Edie provides suggestions on how youth can practice the ordo, the ancient church's "ordered" life around its liturgical holy things: bath (Baptism); book (Scriptures); table (Eucharist); and calendar (the prayerful patterning of time). Through this book, youth leaders will be able to guide Christian youth to experience God's presence and take up their baptismal vocations before God and for the world.

Book Education Leadership Christian Education and Administration

Download or read book Education Leadership Christian Education and Administration written by Romeo B. Macale and published by . This book was released on 2019-02-26 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reason is what makes human beings different from animals. The latter is programmed and guided to behave and act on activities through instinct, but the former operates their lives and actions through their intellect and power of reason. Both reason and instinct were given by God to humans and animals. Humans were endowed with intellect that is inherently characterised with reason and logical thinking. In the Garden of Eden God created the man and the woman not as ignoramus but as thinking, logical, and intellectual beings. They were created to be capable of receiving education since they have the ability to think. As a result, God made the first Christian school with religious instruction designed to educate Christian students. The first two students were Adam and Eve, the first teacher was God, and their first subject was about fruits and food technology. The students were taught that they may be able to eat freely the fruits of all the trees except for one - the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. So far so good. But it did not take long enjoying this perfect environment in the Christian school. Another spurious teacher came along, Satan in the form of a serpent, came in and confronted the students about the subject that God had taught them. He was not particular of the entire pedagogy of God but what he was concerned most was, did God teach the students to stop them from eating particularly the fruit, the knowledge of good and evil with its deadly consequences? Immediately one of the students responded affirmatively. Quickly Satan rationalized and massaged God's teaching by re-teaching the students that the prohibited fruit was actually pleasant and excellent. The consequence of death was pure concoction and unrealistic, but rather it was very beneficial because they would become intellectuals as God is. Believing on that premise, they students thought God's teaching was bad for them, and hence, both of the students listened to the new education introduced by the spurious teacher, Satan, and they did eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Consequently, God, their bona fide teacher kicked them out from His Christian school for violation of His clear teaching with the sentence of death penalty hanging on their heads. Thus, the first students and human beings became sinners. However, the quest for education did not cease there in the Garden of Eden. For this reason, the violators - Adam and Eve tried to invent their own education believing that they could be educated by themselves, and hence, the origin of progressive education curriculum. Since they cannot be re-admitted in God's Christian school because they were forever barred due to their sin, Adam and Eve invented their own school called public education with the progressive education curriculum in it. Yet, God had forgiven the students, and tried to continue the education that God had started but it was no longer pure godly education but fraught with progressive education curriculum. It must be pointed out that the best education that a human being can possess is the education that God has made which is Christian education. Public education was not made by God. Pleasant as it is, as some educators esteemed it highly, public education was produced as a result of rebellion when the first humans - Adam and Eve rejected God's teaching, and instead listened and obeyed Satan's education which is now called public education. However, this book postulates the principle of Christian education and leadership as the best option for a quality education. It may sound religious and godly, but it was so in its origin. True education cannot be realized in the absence of Christ. An education apart from Christ is no education at all.
