Book Research of Techniques for Light Modulation Detection Part I Amplitude Demodulators

Download or read book Research of Techniques for Light Modulation Detection Part I Amplitude Demodulators written by B. J. McMurtry and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The results of a one-year applied research program on the demodulation of amplitude-modulated (AM) light are presented. Sufficient information is provided for the detailed understanding, design, and use of traveling-wave microwave phototubes (TWPs), the most promising detector for broadband-modulated light. The report includes: (1) the idealized analysis which first pointed out the more important TWP design considerations and operating characteristics; (2) a more complete computeraided analysis which gives detailed information on the effects of the various beam-circuit parameters and operating conditions; and (3) an analysis of the electron gun region, with emphasis on velocity spread and current density effects. The results of a detailed experimental analysis of the TWP are presented, providing both verification of the more complete theoretical treatment and information on generally-useful photodetector test techniques. Experimental data are given on several other types of photodetectors. A discussion of the design and construction of TWPs with S-1 photocathodes contains material of practical importance to TWP builders.

Book Phase Locked and Frequency Feedback Systems

Download or read book Phase Locked and Frequency Feedback Systems written by Jacob Klapper and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Phase-Locked and Frequency-Feedback Systems: Principles and Techniques presents the operating principles and methods of design of phase-locked and frequency-feedback systems. This book is divided into 10 chapters that provide step-by-step design procedures and graphical aids, with illustrations bearing on real problems experienced in these systems. This work specifically tackles the application of these systems as FM demodulators with lowered thresholds. Chapters 1 and 2 deal briefly with the elements of linear systems, feedback theory, and noise, providing the minimum background for the material presented in the remainder of the text. Chapter 3 describes the characteristics of the major components that comprise the loops and the performance of the conventional and multi-loop FM demodulators. Chapters 4 to 7 present the basic describing equations and design for the FM feedback (FMFB) and phase-locked loop (PLL). These chapters further illustrate step-by-step design procedures with performance characteristics for low-threshold angle demodulation using typical design examples. Chapter 8 highlights the design principles, which are extended to the design of advanced demodulators featuring demodulation thresholds lower than those of the simple PLL or FMFB. Chapter 9 focuses on digital FM demodulation and PLL applications other than FM demodulation. Lastly, Chapter 10 presents the methods of testing and evaluating loop performance. Undergraduate and graduate level students, as well as practicing engineers, will find this book invaluable.

Book Generalized Architecture for Modulation and Demodulation Techniques

Download or read book Generalized Architecture for Modulation and Demodulation Techniques written by Swapan Kumar Samaddar and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes a modulator-demodulator circuit which can execute different modulation schemes like- AM, ASK, BPSK, FSK & QPSK. Both the LUT based implementation and complete VHDL based implementations have done by using digital high frequency carriers. In the first step to realize the whole modulation and demodulation schemes using MATLAB Simulink. The format of a VHDL program is built around the concept of BLOCKS which are the basic building units of a VHDL design.

Book Ham Radio For Dummies

Download or read book Ham Radio For Dummies written by H. Ward Silver and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-03-02 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your how-to guide to become a ham Ham radio, or amateur radio, is a way to talk with people around the world in real-time, or to send email without any sort of internet connection. It provides a way to keep in touch with friends and family, whether they are across town or across the country. It is also a very important emergency communication system. When cell phones, landlines, the internet, and other systems are down or overloaded, Amateur Radio still gets the message through. Radio amateurs, often called "hams," enjoy radio technology as a hobby, but are often called upon to provide vital service when regular communications systems fail. Ham Radio For Dummies is your guide to everything there is to know about ham radio. Plus, this updated edition provides new and additional information on digital mode operating, as well as use of amateur radio in student science and new operating events. • Set up your radio station • Design your ham shack • Provide support in emergencies and communicate with other hams • Study for the licensing exam and choose your call sign If you're looking to join a college radio club or just want to learn the latest tips and tricks, this book is a helpful reference guide to beginners, or those who have been "hams" for years.
