Download or read book Diffractive Optics written by Donald C. O'Shea and published by SPIE Press. This book was released on 2004 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides the reader with the broad range of materials that were discussed in a series of short courses presented at Georgia Tech on the design, fabrication, and testing of diffractive optical elements (DOEs). Although there are not long derivations or detailed methods for specific engineering calculations, the reader should be familiar and comfortable with basic computational techniques. This text is not a 'cookbook' for producing DOEs, but it should provide readers with sufficient information to assess whether this technology would benefit their work, and to understand the requirements for using the concepts and techniques presented by the authors.

Download or read book Handbook of Laser Micro and Nano Engineering written by KOJI SUGIOKA. and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook provides a comprehensive review of the entire field of laser micro and nano processing, including not only a detailed introduction to individual laser processing techniques but also the fundamentals of laser-matter interaction and lasers, optics, equipment, diagnostics, as well as monitoring and measurement techniques for laser processing. Consisting of 11 sections, each composed of 4 to 6 chapters written by leading experts in the relevant field. Each main part of the handbook is supervised by its own part editor(s) so that high-quality content as well as completeness are assured. The book provides essential scientific and technical information to researchers and engineers already working in the field as well as students and young scientists planning to work in the area in the future. Lasers found application in materials processing practically since their invention in 1960, and are currently used widely in manufacturing. The main driving force behind this fact is that the lasers can provide unique solutions in material processing with high quality, high efficiency, high flexibility, high resolution, versatility and low environmental load. Macro-processing based on thermal process using infrared lasers such as CO2 lasers has been the mainstream in the early stages, while research and development of micro- and nano-processing are becoming increasingly more active as short wavelength and/or short pulse width lasers have been developed. In particular, recent advances in ultrafast lasers have opened up a new avenue to laser material processing due to the capabilities of ultrahigh precision micro- and nanofabrication of diverse materials. This handbook is the first book covering the basics, the state-of-the-art and important applications of the dynamic and rapidly expanding discipline of laser micro- and nanoengineering. This comprehensive source makes readers familiar with a broad spectrum of approaches to solve all relevant problems in science and technology. This handbook is the ultimate desk reference for all people working in the field.

Download or read book Proceedings of CECNet 2021 written by A.J. Tallón-Ballesteros and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2022-01-19 with total page 788 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is almost impossible to imagine life today without the electronics, communications and networks we have all come to take for granted. The 6G network is currently under development and some chips able to operate at the Terahertz (THz) scale have already been introduced, so the next decade will probably see the consolidation of 6G-based technology, as well as many compliant devices. This book presents the proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Networks (CECNet 2021), initially planned to be held from 18-21 November 2021 in Beijing, China, but ultimately held as an online event due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. The CECNet series is now an established annual event attracting participants in the interrelated fields of electronics, computers, communications and wireless communications engineering and technology from around the world. Careful review by program committee members, who took into consideration the breadth and depth of those research topics that fall within the scope of CECNet, resulted in the selection of the 88 papers presented here from the 325 submissions received. This represents an acceptance rate of around 27%. Providing an overview of current research and developments in these rapidly evolving fields, the book will be of interest to all those working with digital communications networks.
Download or read book Fourier Methods in Imaging written by Roger L. Easton Jr. and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-11-18 with total page 1005 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fourier Methods in Imaging introduces the mathematical tools for modeling linear imaging systems to predict the action of the system or for solving for the input. The chapters are grouped into five sections, the first introduces the imaging “tasks” (direct, inverse, and system analysis), the basic concepts of linear algebra for vectors and functions, including complex-valued vectors, and inner products of vectors and functions. The second section defines "special" functions, mathematical operations, and transformations that are useful for describing imaging systems. Among these are the Fourier transforms of 1-D and 2-D function, and the Hankel and Radon transforms. This section also considers approximations of the Fourier transform. The third and fourth sections examine the discrete Fourier transform and the description of imaging systems as linear "filters", including the inverse, matched, Wiener and Wiener-Helstrom filters. The final section examines applications of linear system models to optical imaging systems, including holography. Provides a unified mathematical description of imaging systems. Develops a consistent mathematical formalism for characterizing imaging systems. Helps the reader develop an intuitive grasp of the most common mathematical methods, useful for describing the action of general linear systems on signals of one or more spatial dimensions. Offers parallel descriptions of continuous and discrete cases. Includes many graphical and pictorial examples to illustrate the concepts. This book helps students develop an understanding of mathematical tools for describing general one- and two-dimensional linear imaging systems, and will also serve as a reference for engineers and scientists
