Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Amidst the splendor of an English Christmastide, two souls from different worlds embark on a journey of love, transformation, and the serendipitous dance of destiny. Answering the call of the Duchess of Abernathy and Lewis Duffield, American ballet prodigy Miss Serendipity Shaw ventures to England, enticed by both a festive stage and an authentic English holiday experience. Little does she anticipate that her journey will lead to a fateful encounter with the enigmatic Earl of Dayton, Wesley Jackson, whose brooding demeanor hides layers of complexity. Wesley, a man well-acquainted with the shadows of his past, has long shunned the enchantment of Christmas. Encouraged by a persuasive friend to attend a Yuletide house gathering, he reluctantly ventures forth, unprepared for the magnetic pull of Serendipity's vivacity. Her effervescent spirit and radiant smile begin to chip away at the walls he's meticulously built around his heart. In the midst of twinkling candles and festive merriment, Serendipity takes it upon herself to break through Wesley's frosty exterior and kindle the spark of warmth within him. With each shared moment, their connection deepens, and Serendipity finds herself entangled in emotions she had never intended to embrace. Yet, as their feelings intensify, a pressing question looms: Can she melt Wesley's heart before the magic of Christmas fades, and her time in England draws to a close?

This book was released on 2021-09-29 with total page 423 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Japanese word, Ikigai means 'reason for being'. Think of what you love, what you are good at, what you can be paid for, and what the world needs. When these come together, you get your Ikigai. However, Ikigai can be beyond these four components and doesn't have to include any or all of them. The moments each day where you live fully — engaging in a hobby or pursuit, learning, connecting with people, being useful, choosing empathy over apathy, and being in the present — and the small joys that inhabit those moments make your Ikigai. You can have more than one Ikigai and it can change with time. You already have your Ikigai and just need to discover it!The book unveils the life journeys of 25 teens that left India for the uncharted waters of Singapore in the 1990s and early 2000s. Each story started with engineering and took the person to one's calling — dance, filmmaking, entrepreneurship, mountaineering, philanthropy, research, and even monkhood. Did they find their Ikigai? Uncover the pages to find out!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bestselling author of Encyclopedia an Ordinary Life returns with a literary experience that is unprecedented, unforgettable, and explosively human. Ten years after her beloved, groundbreaking Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life, #1 New York Times bestselling author Amy Krouse Rosenthal delivers a book full of her distinct blend of nonlinear narrative, wistful reflections, and insightful wit. It is a mighty, life-affirming work that sheds light on all the ordinary and extraordinary ways we are connected. Like she did with Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life, Amy Krouse Rosenthal ingeniously adapts a standard format—a textbook, this time—to explore life’s lessons and experiences into a funny, wise, and poignant work of art. Not exactly a memoir, not just a collection of observations, Textbook Amy Krouse Rosenthal is a beautiful exploration into the many ways we are connected on this planet and speaks to the awe, bewilderment, and poignancy of being alive. “…a groundbreaking new twist on the traditional literary experience… Textbook is a delightful collection of interesting scenarios that directly point to life lessons. Rosenthal manages to spotlight grand moments and everyday moments with equal curiosity, proving that it can be both a privilege — and petrifying — to peek into one’s humanity.”—Associated Press “Rosenthal is a marvel… a talented storyteller with an experimental flair for formatting… This engaging, playful, and clever glimpse into one woman’s life offers lots of photographs, graphic illustrations, and diagrams, resulting in a book that will make readers smile as their notions of story delivery expand.” —Booklist
Download or read book Naked Listening written by Alan Hundley and published by Booklocker.com. This book was released on 2018-11-25 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a college student in the early 1970s, I chose to step out of academia and into a yoga studio. I began the process of being aware that I was aware. I learned to meditate, to play music, to dance, and to sing. On the way I found that being present has much to offer if we simply listen and follow the true thread of the life we were meant to embody. Dancing to the beat of a different drum is not always easy. Going against the grain can be prickly and sometimes begs the question: Isn't there an easier solution? Through it all I learned that there are messengers around every corner, waiting to inform us of our true nature. For me these messengers were sometimes subtle, and at other times slapped me upside the head. In these pages I have given voice to some of my inner longing to be seen for who I am rather than what I do or how I wish to be seen. I had the understanding many years ago that fantasy and magical thinking are seductive and can lead to self-absorption, ego fixation and pretending to be someone other than who I am. So, who am I? That is always the question. Throughout these stories and poems my intention was to draw out what was within. Working as a massage therapist, yoga and tai chi teacher for over 40 years was not how I envisioned myself in my formative early adult life. But circumstance and serendipity are always offering an alternative for those with the eyes to see and the ears to hear. How easy to spend an entire life wondering where the pot of gold is and never realize that it is in the palm of your hand.

Seeking solace and inspiration, she flees the bustling city life to this serene haven, hoping that the whispering winds and dancing fields will heal her broken spirit. Little did Nicole know that fate had something extraordinary in store for her. Drawn together by a shared passion for art, they form an unlikely alliance, embarking on a journey that will not only revive a forgotten masterpiece but also transform their lives in ways they could never have imagined. As they collaborate on restoring the ancient painting, Nicole and Dariel unravel layers of emotions, not only within the artwork but also within themselves. Download or read book Dancing Bears written by Witold Szabłowski and published by Text Publishing. This book was released on 2018-02-26 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • Incisive, humorous and heartbreaking oral histories of people living in formerly Communist countries holding fast to their former lives, from one of Poland’s finest journalists. • Like Anna Funder’s Stasiland or Svetlana Alexievich’s Secondhand Time, readers are guided through the aftereffects of authoritarian rule and the challenges of freedom via Szablowski’s immediate, heartwrenching stories of the people who lived through the collapse of Communism. • The bold and brilliant allegory at the centre of Dancing Bears is of bears raised and trained by Bulgarian Gypsies. With the fall of Communism, the bears were released into a wildlife refuge. But even today, whenever the bears see a human, they still get up on their hind legs to dance. • Dancing Bears traces the remarkable true stories of people throughout Eastern Europe and Cuba who, like the bears, are now free, but seem nostalgic for a time when they were not. • Szablowski is an award-winning Polish journalist—his reportage on illegal immigrants flocking to the EU won the European Parliament Journalism Prize, and his previous book about Turkey, The Assassin from Apricot City, won an English PEN Award. • This book comes at a pivotal moment for oral histories, following the success of 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature winner Svetlana Alexievich’s Secondhand Time. • For fans of Stasiland by Anna Funder, Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick and Tale of Two Cities by John Freeman.
