Book excerpt: Develop skills in Python by implementing exciting algorithms, including mathematical functions, classical searching, data analysis, plotting data, machine learning techniques, and quantum circuits Key Features: Learn Python basics to write elegant and efficient code Create quantum circuits and algorithms using Qiskit and run them on quantum computing hardware and simulators Delve into Python's advanced features, including machine learning, analyzing data, and searching Book Description: Coding is the art and engineering of creating software, and Python has been one of the core coding languages for many years. This introductory Python book helps you learn classical and quantum computing in a unified and practical way. It will help you explore work with numbers, strings, collections, iterators, and files. The book goes beyond functions and classes and teaches you to use Python and Qiskit to create gates and circuits for classical and quantum computing. Learn how quantum extends classical techniques using the Grover Search Algorithm and the code that implements it. Dive into some advanced and widely used applications of Python and revisit strings with more sophisticated tools such as regular expressions and basic natural language processing (NLP). The final chapters introduce you to data analysis, visualizations, and supervised and unsupervised machine learning. By the end of the book, you will be proficient in classical coding and programming the latest and most powerful quantum computers. What You Will Learn: Create Python code using numbers, strings, collections, classes, objects, functions, conditionals, loops, and operators Write succinct code the Pythonic way using magic methods, iterators, and generators Explore different quantum gates and use them to build quantum circuits Analyze data, build basic machine learning models and plot the results Search for information using traditional methods and the quantum Grover Search Algorithm Optimize and test your code to run efficiently Who this book is for: The book is for Python and coding beginners. Basic familiarity with algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and logarithms is required as the book does not cover the detailed mathematics and theory of quantum computing. You can check out the author's Dancing with Qubits book, also published by Packt, for an approachable and comprehensive introduction to quantum computing.

Book The Return of the Dancing Master

Download or read book The Return of the Dancing Master written by Henning Mankell and published by New Press/ORIM. This book was released on 2004-03-25 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the New York Times–bestselling author of the Kurt Wallander novels: An “absorbing” and “chilling” historical mystery “dripping with evil atmosphere” (The Times, London). December 12, 1945. The Third Reich lies in ruins as a British warplane lands in Bückeburg, Germany. A man carrying a small black bag quickly disembarks and travels to Hamelin, where he disappears behind the prison gates. Early the next day, England’s most experienced hangman executes twelve war criminals. Fifty-four years later, retired policeman Herbert Molin is found brutally slaughtered on his remote farm in Härjedalen, Sweden. The police discover strange tracks in the blood on the floor . . . as if someone had been practicing the tango. Stefan Lindman is a young police officer who has just been diagnosed with cancer of the tongue. When he reads about the murder of his former colleague, he decides to travel north and find out what happened. Soon he is enmeshed in a puzzling investigation with no witnesses and no discernible motives. Terrified of the illness that could take his life, Lindman becomes more and more reckless as he uncovers the links between Molin’s death, World War II, and an underground neo-Nazi network. Mankell’s impeccably researched historical thriller is “a worthy successor to the Wallander whodunits” (The Sunday Telegraph). “[Mankell] never fails to find a deep vein of humanity within the perpetually furrowed brows of his troubled cops.” —Booklist

Book Code to Joy

  • Author : Michael L. Littman
  • Publisher : MIT Press
  • Release : 2023-10-03

Download or read book Code to Joy written by Michael L. Littman and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2023-10-03 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How we can get more joy from our machines by telling them what our hearts desire. In this informative, accessible, and very funny book, Michael L. Littman inspires readers to learn how to tell machines what to do for us. Rather than give in to the fear that computers will steal our jobs, spy on us and control what we buy and whom we vote for, we can improve our relationship with them just by learning basic programming skills. Our devices will help us, Littman writes, if we can say what we want in a way they can understand. Each chapter of the book focuses on a particular element of what can be said, providing examples of how we use similar communication in our daily interactions with people. Littman offers ways readers can experiment with these ideas right away, using publicly available systems that might also make us more productive as a welcome side effect. Each chapter also reflects on how the use of these programming components can be expedited by machine learning. With humor and teacherly guidance, Code to Joy brings into view a future where programming is like reading—something everyone can learn.

Book Dancing With The Devil

Download or read book Dancing With The Devil written by Kathleen Dryden and published by XinXii. This book was released on 2016-09-05 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dancing With The Devil is about the evil strategies Satan uses to capture the soul of a Christian and how his destructiveness infiltrates the government of a Christian nation. When we let this enemy inside the temple of the Lord, (our heart and mind) and into our government entities we will begin to live a life of deep sorrow and regret. However, regardless of his strategies he cannot enter those places where he doesn’t belong unless we give him access through the choices we make that reject Christ’s statutes. To dance with the devil is to ignore scriptural wisdom, willingly trading biblical truth for personal lust and power while still claiming to be a Christian, attending church, and influencing others, especially tender hearts and innocent minds. It is to flirt with an evil attitude, and/or participate in evil behavior. Through my own personal experiences, as well as those shared by close friends and family, I have come to realize how the sinful choices each of us makes contributes to our own demise and to the brokenness in our families, which leads to a spiritually and physically broken nation. Every Christian must choose to help reduce evil, bring justice to the innocent, and help turn people to Christ by using wisdom and understanding to make good choices. Dancing With The Devil teaches Christians why it is important to let the Lord open the eyes of our heart so we can understand how that living in disobedience to His Word jeopardizes our soul and creates a world of evil—evil that begins with the smallest intent of the heart and mind, ends with the most wicked action, and sets up our people and our nation for failure. While we will never eradicate all the evil in the world, we must believe that it exists and accurately define it. Then we can judge and punish it, taking warlike action against it when necessary, minimizing its affect on humanity. Those whose goal is eternity in heaven with Jesus must understand His character and His commands. To live a life that contradicts His character and commands is to dance with the devil and endorse evil. When we discover that we are caught in this bondage we must repent; to repent is to stop, then turn around, and return to Jesus with all our heart, letting Him redeem us. When we renew our minds to conform to Jesus and His statutes, and change our behavior then the Lord will hear our prayer and will heal our land.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dancing the World Smaller examines international dance performances in New York City in the 1940s as sites in which dance artists and audiences contested what it meant to practice globalism in mid-twentieth-century America. Debates over globalism in dance proxied larger cultural struggles over how to realize diversity while honoring difference.
